A Lovely Award from Beryl

Bird on a branch

Bird on a branch not a 'Bird in the hand' for Tanda Teaser this week, but hope you will accept this one. A little tag one of a set I made a while ago. I cut the tag out using decorative scissors and stamped the owl in Stazon. I sprayed with some Glimmer mists and added some Stickles glitter glue together with a green stripey ribbon. A different shaped tag.

Butterfly on the Flowers

A little butterfly sitting on some decoupaged and flower softed flowers layered onto some flowery papers make up this simple atc for Arty Girlz 'Butterfly' challenge this week.

Four Pretty Faces

Two challenges covered with this card tonight, they are Crazy Amigo 'Faces' and Lots to Do Sunday 'Eyes'. I created the background using glues and different coloured peices of foil all mingled together to give a nice raised effect. Then I overstamped the four faces using black Stazon, the stamp from Magenta. Very simple but I hope effective. Step Outside Your Box has 'Eyes' as the theme this week too.

Cantilevered Decoupage

I bought some Cantilever templates last week and here is my first attempt. It was made using the arch shape, difficult to scan of course but I am sure you will get the jist of it. The backing card and centre card are from my Kanban box with some added decoupaged flowers and gold peel offs. I do like these K cards so expect to see more soon.

Singing in the Rain

A very late entry here for the Cuttlebug 'Emboss on Acetate' challenge. The main image is from a Joanna Sheen cd attached to black card. I placed this over the acetate embossed with the Divine Swirl folder, added some sticky ribbon and mounted onto the black card with four silver brads.

Motorbiking Frog

I just love this little frog on a bike, the image sent to me by my lovely friend Karen so had to use him for DCM Frog or Fish challenge this week. I coloured the stamped image using Cosmic Shimmers and added some green ink to paper for the background. Matted onto sanded green and black coredinations paper which had been run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder before sanding. I added some other green cuttlebugged papers to a green card, cut the corners with decorative scissors and added a gold peel off sentiment.

Another Word Book

Here is one just for Nancy. I was making this at the same time as Nancy and Steph had their brainwave yesterday - finding that you can make word books using MCS. I took the tie image, made it into a tile, dragged it across the page then added one of the alphabet letters. Printed out three times with each different letter I then attached it to a backing sheet of chipboard covered with Glimmer Mists. I attached the three sheets together with gold brads (after cutting them down to size) then made a couple of holes in the whole thing and added the rings and rickrack braiding. I cut the corners with decorative scissors and added the gold peeloff message.

Flying Moon Pixie

When I saw that Sunday Stampers challenge this week was to use the 'Moon' in our creation I just knew I had to use this image. From Peerless Designs cd 'Pixie Dreams' I printed out the background onto card. I added red mirri board then the image layered over the top. I cut the corners using decorative scissors and added the stamped sentiment 'Joy is not in things but is in us' (from Glenda's Elusive Images) - sorry does not show up too clearly on the scan. I added clear Stickles Glitter glue to the wings and the stars and around the edges of the moon. 'Joy' fits the Step Outside Your Box challenge this week too.

Green and Yellow

Here is a nice spring like card for Dutch Dare challenge of 'Yellow and Green'.

With a background made using alcohol inks I overstamped the daffodills and the leaves in green and yellow. I added the circle edged with distress inks, stamped the sentiment and added the jewel centre brad and rounded the corners. This was then attached to a plain green card.

Distressed Pelican

Theme Thursday topic this week was to use 'Labels' on our card and the Cuttlebug Challenge was to use 'Distress' so I have combined the two here. I ran the white card through the Swiss Dots folder then added Distress inks in greens and browns and sanded over the top. I added the lovely Pelican label from Crafty Image Emporium CD, added distress ink to the edges and attached a larger cut out pelican with a wonderful crown on his head. Now why would a pelican be advertising California Peas I ask myself? answers please.

Messy meets Tilda in Linnie's Garden

Here is the card I made for my own challenge this week but it also applies to Tanda Teaser 'Tulips' challenge too. The garden is one of the backgrounds on 'Scenes to Decorate' from Helping Hands who are sponsoring my challenge site today. I stamped Messy with the tulip and Tilda and coloured them using Lyra colours and Cosmic Shimmers.

Alphabet letter skinny

Created By Hand challenge this week was to use an 'Alphabet letter' on something so here is my A for Adventures. The background was made using glue and foils in different colours. A map of the USA , a chipboard letter attached with a brad and a piece of ribbon complete this skinny.

A Colourful Mardi Gras Postcard

OOh I love this 'Mardi Gras' theme from Sunday Postcard Art, the 'Bright Colour' theme from Crazy Amigo and the 'Shiny' theme from Wednesday Stamper. First I stamped onto glossy card using Teal Stazon with another mask stamp, this time from Dimension Fourth. I cut out the eyes and added two gold shiny cuttlebugged eyes for the top mask and straight gold shiny eyes for the bottom mask. Then the fun started. I dabbed pink and blue inks all over the card with a sponge, not cut and dry as this would have made it too smooth, then I sprayed with Delphinium and Fireburst Blue from Crafty Notions Colour Sprays. I left it overnight to dry not really knowing what colours it would end up but I love it now. I dabbed the same blue inks onto the stampboard, edged with gold pentouch and overstamped with a small mask stamp from Stamp Addicts. This was then covered with Crackle Glaze and again left and here is the final result.

A very strange posting I know

Yes, this is a blank black circle you are seeing (sorry about the glitter on the scanner must go clean it now), but it means a lot to me. I bought a circle cutter last week which I could not make work at all so returned it. Now this morning a set of the X cut cutting templates arrived and here is my FIRST attempt woohoo am I pleased I broke four blades trying the other one out). In the pack were circles, ovals, squares, rectangles and diamonds 3 of each, plus cutter and 2 blades plus - an extra freebie a wonderful glass cutting mat in inches too. All this and postage by courier in 2 days from Arty Miss. To say I am delighted is an understatement.

Mardi Gras

The challenge this week at Gothic Arches was 'Mardi Gras' - a topic that I love as I have a great collection of masks. This card uses my new mask stamp from Stamp Addicts and a smaller 4 masked cube from them too. The arch background was created using alcohol inks of various shades swooshed over glossy card. I then overstamped in black the smaller masks and added Stickles glitter glue. For the large mask I stamped using the resist technique and brayered with the Waterfall Big and Juicy ink pad. The eyes were from another piece of varying coloured ink cards. I added glitter glue in gold and clear, the black mask and two feathers and edged with gold Pentouch. I always had hoped when we lived overseas that I would get to New Orleans at Mardi Gras - never made it - but I can live in hope. Just realized that this fits DCM 'Green' challenge too.

Framed Tree

Here is a little framed picture I made today, why? - I don't really know except that I took a fancy to doing this. Sadly the scan lights and the acetate don't do it justice as it looks a little cloudy but in real life it is not.

The background was made using alcohol inks dragged over to create stripes then the tree from Stamp Addicts overstamped in black Stazon. I covered the picture in acetate then added the frame which was from one of Michele Marsden's kits.

Thank You Card

This card was made to say thanks for a lovely pre-birthday gift from my lovely friend Frankie. The white background card was brayered using a rainbow ink pad then put through the Cuttlebug embossing folder and covered with distress inks. I did the same with the vellum and attached it with a dragonfly brad. The stampboard was swiped with the same inks then overstamped and covered with lots of Glossy Accents to make it look cloudy not clear. The small card was brayered on glossy card then overstamped. I embossed the Glimmer Misted green card with another folder then oversprayed again with the Mists. Edge trimming done using my Purple Cows cutter.

Rainbow Friends Swap

Here is the card made as a swap for Rita my Rainbow Friend. Lots of techniques here. The background for the stamped image was made using a brayer and rainbow ink pad on glossy card with overstamping of the image. The large swirly card was run through the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder then swiped with pink inks and sanded slightly. The background white card was sprayed with Glimmer mists first. The vellum was also run through the same folder and attached with a jewelled brad. The stampboard was inked with the same colour inks, overstamped with the Ginko then covered in Glossy Accents and edged with Pentouch. The main pink pearl card was overstamped with swirls from Dimension Fourth and the magazine freebie. Guess what the topic was? - yes Swirls and Flourishes.

Regency Card

Last week the lovely Sheena Douglass was on Ideal World - I sent her an email and here is the wonderful card she made on air which I just received today. The card is signed by Sheena and Nigel. What a gorgeous set of stamps are these, I can't wait for mine to arrive.

Game Pieces

The challenge at Theme Thursday was to use 'Game Pieces' somewhere on your creation so I chose a playing card or two. The background paper is from a QVC set and I added a playing card from an American Airlines set with a mini card on top. Edged with gold peeloffs I made a small diamond topped card. Hope this one is visible today.

Six in One Tonight

Last year I managed to do six challenges at the same time and I have managed to equal my own record again tonight. Lots To Do challenge was 'Metal', My Time To Craft was 'Gold', Arty Girlz was 'Flowers',

Created By Hand was 'Gold', Tanda Teaser was 'Hearts and Flowers' and Wednesday Stamper was to use 'Hearts in a Different Way'.

I stamped various floral and swirl images onto white glossy card, floral from Sheena and Swirls from Dimension Fourth and the magazine freebie last week.

I then covered the card with Caramel and Butterscotch Alcohol inks swirling and swooshing on the card. Next, I punched out some gold metal hearts and attached them over the flowers and added a gold gem in the centre. I then edged the corners and embossed a few lines and added some copper pen touch to some of the swirls. Whew that was a job. I could have made it 7 in one as Joanna's challenge this week was also 'hearts' but I had already posted a card for that so thought it would be cheating to count this one in as well lol

Get Well Soon Fan Card

I made this card for my husband's secretary who has broken her leg in two places - not very nice, and also decided to use it for my challenge this week.

The fan is from the recent set from Create and Craft - my wonderful friend Fankie bought me the set for my birthday (not till March actually). The flowers are simply decoupaged with drops of Stickles glitter glue added to enhance them. I added a couple of peel off corners for effect. There is also a little black cut out stand for display. The back I will show on a separate posting.

Back of the Fan Card

Here is the back of the fan covered with Joanna's wonderful silk paper. I stamped a few swirls (stamp from the magazine freebie set last week) and added jewels and peel off corners for decoration.

Oriental Splendour

No red and black was the 'Oriental' challenge from DCM this week. I made an ATC for a change using a background created using greens and orange alcohol inks swooshed over glossy card. I overstamped in green Stazon with the lovely Ginko stamp and added a sticker pair of shoes. The lady is stamped in green again onto an orange background created the same way and overlayed onto the green background.

Postage Art Valentine

As my husband will not be home for Valentines and I have to post his card, I thought the Postage Art challenge at Crazy Amigo's would be just the thing.

I covered the white card with red and white hearted hand made paper. I stamped the words, key and postal stamp, from Rubbadubbadoo, in red, fancy cut the edges, stippled a little colour around and added Sakura pen to the key. I then added a couple of peel offs and a red heart for embellishment. This card also fits for Joanna Sheen's 'Hearts' challenge.
