Some Enchanted Evening

Posted by Picasa
Crafty Ann and Debbi Moore - what a fab combination..... well I think so.
This card or layout I should say is my DT entry for my challenge this week... another song, this time 'Some Enchanted Evening'.
A masked ball fits the bill for me.
As the challenge is sponsored by Ann the DT were given some images to work with and the large mask is one of them.  As Ann and most folks know I love masks and have lots in my hallway at home and overseas.
I printed out a very large mask then overstamped with some of Debbi's stamps and embossed with a red/black sparkly powder. The super background paper and the masked couple are from Debbi's Venetian collection which I love.  I added some hand made flowers... again a passion with me at the moment.... flowers everywhere.
The purple flower is made from Crafty Notions clay over painted with sparkly acrylic paints.  Pink ribbons, a pink foam swirl  and gems complete the picture.
I hope you like this creation.... please do pop over to my challenge blog and enter for yourself... you could win some of Anns fab digi images.

MIMOSA LIGHTS THE WAY

I know, I know it is spring and here is a Christmas card - but never too early to start making them in my opinion.
This card is for my challenge this week - the topic being another song - 'Lady in Red'.
As I am still away sunning myself I did not have any other suitable lady stamps with me... this new one I bought at NEC and it came over in the suitcase.... so that is why I decided to make my 'Lady in Red' a Christmas lady.
Even though I don't normally do cute I loved these Bild Malarna stamps as soon as I saw them and just had to buy Mimosa lighting the way with her lamp.
She was stamped onto white card and coloured with Copics - yes, I did bring them with me - then I added some silver glitter for the snow effect. I mounted her onto a QVC  gorgeous red card and added the Winter Blessings stamp and some flowers, holly and another little red bow.... yes I am hooked on these too.
Do check out my challenge blog and give the challenge a go - there is a fab voucher from Joanna Sheen up for grabs this week.

Philladelphia Street Fair

Here is the programme for the Street Fair on the main street right outside our Hotel in Philly.

As you can see there was a lot of entertainment for the day -  the photo on the bottom left shows the wonderful equipment used by THE COMPAGNIE TRANSE EXPRESS. The unit was shaped like a large metal flower and it opened up and rose into the air at least 100 feet.  It took 2 days to set it all up - overnite too.
There were 3 trapeze ladies balanced on it and a set of drummers and bell players - all performing to fabulous music with the backdrop of the setting sun.  Fireworks too.
You can see it again on the main image too. AMAZING as Craig would say.....
The ferris wheel was also on the main street all lit up at night.
In one of the buildings there was a life size statue of the Eiffel Tower made out of metal.
There were lots of stalls selling all sorts of French wares, crepes, wine tasting etc. etc.
Also there were people dressed as statues but moving.... one lady spraying water from her hands and head.... photo to follow.... and a moving tree.....
Two stages with fab music played all day.
I could go on but will stop now before I bore you lol
