Challenge 177 - Poppies

Posted by PicasaThis week on November 11th we remember those brave men and women who died for us whilst fighting in various wars so my challenge is to show Poppies on your creations. For this easel card base I took some Coredinations craft card and sanded the top roughly just enough to show the craft colour below.  I stamped the poppy stamps from an Inkylicious set and coloured using Promarkers and Copics and coloured the background with Distress Inks.  I sprayed over the top with Crafter's Companion glitter spray.  I added the sentiments from Hunkydory - the smaller one reads 'Don't count the Years - Count the Memories' and stamped some more poppies onto the craft card using black Stazon.
I hope you will Remember the brave ones and maybe create something in their honour.
Thank you..... we will remember.

IN THE COUNTRY

Here is my DT card for my challenge this week 'In the Country' and it also works for our grand-daughter's 3rd birthday card.
The images are from the Crafter's Companion  Beatrix Potter cd .... I love Mrs Tiggywinkle...hope Erin will too.
Although the card looks flat it is actually a box type card with the apertures cut out out and overlayed with acetate and decoupaged images below.
I added some gems round the aperture and some gold ribbon at the side.
That is it.... I didn't want to add anything else.
I hope you like it and also hope you will give my challenge a go this week.... a Joanna Sheen voucher is up for grabs as always the first Thursday in the new month.
Have fun and good luck x

March Hare meets Mad Hatter at The Tea Party

Posted by PicasaHere is my entry for Dragon's Dream challenge Mad March days and also my first enty to Your Special Delivery 50/50 challenge blog using the cute Mad Hatter digi image from LLDI.
I stamped the large chipboard piece with the March Hare stamp from Sheena Douglass and the tea cups and tea pot from See D's using Black Archival ink. They were coloured with Copics and Promarkers then oversprayed with silver glitter spray from Crafter's Companion. I coloured the Mad Hatter with the same pens and oversprayed again.
For the heart tag I typed the words using Word Art printed them out attached to the heart and overprayed yet again with silver glitter.  The two tags are attached with red velvet ribbon.

The Year of the Tiger

Posted by PicasaHere is my entry for this week's Dragon's Dream challenge 'The year of the Tiger'. Frankie has not been well for some time so it is good to see her challenge back up and running with my friend Lyn otherwise known as Blackdragon as Guest Designer this week.
I stamped the background with a little Oriental tree from Debbie Moore using Ranger Distress ink Frayed Burlap and Old Paper and colour tinted the tag with the same inks. The Tiger cigarette card ( actually from a box of safety matches)was from a QVC set also edged with Distress Inks. I added a brown ribbon and a little coin tied up with gold Oriental thread then oversprayed the whole tag with Gold spray from Crafter's Companion. Hope you like it ladies and Happy New Year to all.

Russian Doll Wordbook

Posted by PicasaHere is my card for my friend Frankie's birthday today.
No pink or purple to be seen as she is not a fan of those colours lol so I used reds and yellows to colour in the lovely Russian Doll stamped images from Hero Arts. The book pages have been Cuttlebugged on brown pearlised card then oversprayed with gold glitter spray from Crafter's Companion.
Do hope she will like it.
We go on our Big Adventure today for two weeks so will be back on our return.

TAKE HEART - all will be well in the end.

Posted by PicasaHere is my take on Frankie's 'Pink, Swirly and Dotty' challenge over at Dragon's Dream Tag challenge. I stamped the lady's face, from Stik n Stamp onto white glossy card, then masked her and stamped around in various pinks using Stamp Addicts dots, Sheena's swirls and Personal Impressions flower and sentiment stamps. I attached, with a pink and silver cord, a piece of stampboard stamped in purple and coloured with pink inks and glitters. The whole card was then sprayed with Gold glitter spray from Crafter's Companion. The card and stampboard are both edged with gold Krylon pen. A lovely challenge my friend.

CUTE DAISY MAY IN THE GARDEN

Posted by PicasaHere is my entry for Cute Daisy May DT challenge 'Circles' this week. The green holographic circles I found in my craft room - surprise - and I cut the DCWV flowered glitter card circle using my XCut circle cutter and mounted on to the holographic card. I printed out the garden bench from Jayne and Sara's 'Summer Stories' CD and mounted this over the circles. I added some highlights with Promarkers then attached varigated flower soft to the flowers and bush. The basket and watering can are from the cd too. I printed out Cute Daisy May with her dog and coloured again with Promarkers - yes I am hooked on them and mounted on foam sitting on the bench. Just another way Daisy May fits in with other products in our craft stash.
You can enter the weekly Daisy May challenges here and maybe win a download and a blinkie - you don't have to use Daisy May either any cutie will do.

BLACK AND WHITE WITH A SILHOUETTE

Posted by Picasa Sadly this does not show up well on the scan though in real life is really glittery due to the Crafter' s Companion silver glitter spray that I used over the completed card. I used Sheena's swirly stamps for the background and embossed them with black embossing powder. I added the two silhouettes, printed on acetate, from Debbi Moore's cd and attached with brads and ribbons. I added the two feathers to embellish.
I created this card is for my weekly challenge this week.

I also overstamped again with the swirl stamp another favourite.

Christmas in May

Posted by PicasaThis is an early Christmas card made for my DT card for Cute Daisy May 4th May Sketch challenge. I so wanted to use this background card, created using sticky stuff and overlaid gold foil, and it really shouted Christmas to me - sorry. I printed out the little man and coloured him using Inktense pencils and a blender pen, edged the card with red ink then added the santa hat printed from MCS cd and covered it in cotton wool for the fur and glitter sprayed. The swirly oval was from an aperture card set coloured with red ink then glittered with CC Gold Glitter Spray. The red strip of pearlised card has trees on and I added another gold strip, a reindeer and the tree stickers. I printed the parcel from MCS cd. The message, star and corner just to embellish - yet another card done for Christmas.

Friends in the fields

Another set of new stamps to be featured on Ideal World on the 4th June with the lovely Jenny from Hobby Art Stamps demonstrating. I stamped the hill top cottages, horse, donkey, fences and the foliage in black then over stamped and embossed the leaves using green embossing powder. I coloured the rest using metallic pencils, Inktense pens with the blender pen and added a few birds in black. I created the frame which was printed from one of Chris Warner cds then oversprayed with gold glitter spray and mounted on gold mirri card onto a brown curvy edged card. I added some green, orange and brown ribbon as the embellishment. I do hope you will watch the show and maybe purchase some of these lovely stamps. They are a joy to work with.

Yachts on the Ocean

Here is the second sample card for Jenny at Hobby Art stamps. I created a blue background using alcohol inks then added a white circle over which I stamped the yachts and coloured with Inktense Pens and the blender pen again. I then covered this with acetate, sprayed with silver glitter spray, and mounted inside a silver frame on a blue card similar in colour to the alcohol inks background.

The Lighthouse - friend to sailors everywhere

Add VideoI am currently in the process of sample making for Jenny at Hobby Art Stamps. These new stamps are to be featured on Ideal World on 4th June.

I then cut a plain circle and stamped with the lighthouse and coloured with Inktense pens using the blender pen. I edged with pale blue inks and oversprayed with silver glitter spray from Crafters Companion. I added the white base also overstamped with the lighthouse and edged in blue inks again.

TIME AND TIDE TAG

Here is a very large tag (could be a bookmark) made to cover three challenges tonight.
Sunday Stamper's challenge is 'Time', Frankie's Tag challenge is 'Time and Tide and Wednesday Stamper topic is 'Orange' so this fits all three.
I stamped the various images from Sheena Douglass and Stampscapes in black Archival ink then played with my wonderful new blending tool from Tim Holtz to colour with lots of inks, mainly oranges with a touch of blue for the tide.
I added the orange ribbon and oversprayed with gold glitter spray from Crafter's Companion.

Daisy May's Rocking Horse

Posted by Picasa Here is my first Design Team card for Cute Daisy May challenges. I used a ciarcular edged card for the main card and lined with DCWV glittered card and gold peeloffs. I then cut circles from DCWV, green glitter paper and ran them thru the Cuttlebug. I printed out the downloaded Daisy May and embossed her using gold embossing powder then I cut the circular shape using my Nesties. I coloured her using metallic pencils and Cosmic Shimmers and added Stickles, feathers, and a butterfly. I added a smalled green circle with a little yellow felt circle that I found in Bruges together with a yellow flower and leaves. I added a green gem in the centre. The whole card is sprayed with Crafter's Companion Gold glitter spray.

APRIL SHOWERS

Posted by PicasaA little card created for a Rainbow Friend April Showers swap and also for Created by Hand 'Spring' challenge this week. I created the main card background using various Glimmer Mists and Cosmic Shimmer sprays and trimmed the corners. I stamped Tilda in the rain onto a white glossy card and added the background using ink direct to the card. I coloured her using Lyra crayons. After adding a couple of photo corners and peel offs I sprayed her with the new Spray and Shine from Crafter's Companion.
This shows a typical English Spring with the April Showers.
