IN THE SPOTLIGHT - ME AND MY SHADOW

This is my DT card for the 'Monotone' challenge over at Cute Daisy May. I printed the images onto white then coloured them sepia in Picasa and raised them on foam tape. Oh, I added a little sepia Promarkers to her dress and shoes and bows. The spotlight background is from the MCS Hollywood CD and I just added some sepia Stickles and the wording to finish the look.
Do pop over and join in the challenge to win a Design sheet of your choice and a blinkie. You do not have to use Daisy May images - as long as your card is cute that is fine.

SWIRLS AND FLOWERS

Posted by Picasa Here is a card made for absolutely no reason at all. The other night I was playing with my new LLB Retro Rose stamps and stamped the hibiscus onto the back of some ordinary card (glossy on the front but it was marked so used the back - remember I was just playing). I coloured the flowers using Promarkers pastel shades and cut them out whilst watching tv. I then added some Cosmic shimmer glitter glues and liked the effect. So off I went and stamped more and did the same. Then I took a simple black card and stamped with Versamark using Sheena's swirly stamps then dusted with Cosmic shimmer powders. I fiddled around with the flowers to get a nice placement and hey ho this is what I ended up with.
I would like to keep it but I think it is going to my local craft shop for display as they sell everything I have used. Hope you like it as much as I do, though the shimmer never comes out as well as in real life on the scan.

BLACK AND WHITE WITH A SILHOUETTE

Posted by Picasa Sadly this does not show up well on the scan though in real life is really glittery due to the Crafter' s Companion silver glitter spray that I used over the completed card. I used Sheena's swirly stamps for the background and embossed them with black embossing powder. I added the two silhouettes, printed on acetate, from Debbi Moore's cd and attached with brads and ribbons. I added the two feathers to embellish.
I created this card is for my weekly challenge this week.

Learn, Live and Hope

Posted by PicasaHere is a tag for Frankie's Dragons Dream 'Oriental China Blue' challenge this week - a day early. I stamped a blue pearlized tag using Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen's new Retro Rose clear stamps, the main one being the Hibiscus - actually the national flower of Hawaii, though it is often thought of as being Oriental. Then I added a smaller tag, slightly different blue and the tiny one with the sentiment stamp (from who knows where - bought at NEC), using the Marvy Blending Blox blue inks. I added some Cosmic shimmer glitter glue in pale blue and attached all three tags with a blue and silver brad. I enjoyed this challenge my first for a wee while.

Masked Fat Book Page

Posted by Picasa The shaped background piece I cut with fancy scissors after embossing and colouring and spraying with Clear Spray from Crafters Companion. I stamped the mask, from Stamp Addicts, one of my favourites, onto an alcohol inked blue and pink background and added some white pen touches and a few gemstones. I also overstamped again with the swirl stamp another favourite.

Spring colours and flowers

Posted by PicasaHere is my DT entry for this week's Cute Daisy May challenge spring colours and flowers. I love this image and coloured her with Promarkers and added a few white dots to her dress. I added some stick on butterflies and Stickles Glitter glues and coloured the background with inks and chalks. I made the frame using Chris Warner Butterflies cd and mounted Daisy May onto purple mirri card inside the frame. I added some flower stickers and paper flowers with glitter glue centres and a few leaves.
Do visit Cute Daisy May challenge blog and see the great DT cards and enter yourself if you get chance. You could win a blinkie and a download of your choice.

Oriental lady and sun

Posted by Picasa The main background used the circles Cuttlebug folder then overswiped with distress inks. The other backgrounds are again alcohol inks with added droplets of colour overstamped with the lady and the sun stamps in Stazon. I added a jewel and some of the new Cosmic shimmer glitter glues in just a couple of places on the overstamped swirls.

Cats and Owls - another page

Posted by Picasa Another fat book page using Lindsay Mason's Owl and Inkadinkadoo Cat face stamp. The main page background was run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder then brayered with brown and green inks. For the green background for the cat I used alcohol inks and shimmer sprays then overstamped the lovely cat face in black Stazon. The same for the owl background using different blues and a little brown and I added some yellow eyes for one of the owls. Some of the cat faces are raised and one owl is also raised.

Faces Fatbooks

Posted by Picasa I love this stamp as there are four faces all different. I stamped onto pink card then cut into squares. The background was created using a brayer over textured card using different coloured inks. I then attached the faces on foam pads and overstamped and embossed with Sheena's swirls and Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder then added a few clear gemstones.

FAT BOOK PAGES

Over the next few days I will be showing some of the fat book pages I have just spent time creating (which is why I have not been posting much lately, I had 10 to make lol). These are the first ones I have done for a swap on my forum so do hope the ladies like them. For those who do not know a fat book page is 4 inches by 4 inches square and when all swaps are received they can be assembled and made into a book using the Bind it All or simple large jump rings.
For this first one I sprayed some card with alcohol inks and Cosmic Shimmer sprays then ran the card thru the Cuttlebug embossing folder and over inked the raised sections. I then brayered some paper with the Big and Juicy ink pads and over stamped the face and eyes in black Stazon. After tearing the edges I attached to the page adding just one tear drop gemstone to the face.
I am using this for my challenge blog this week the challenge being EYES. Do pop over and enter if you have chance.

SPLISH SPLASH IN THE BATH

Posted by PicasaThis week the challenge from Cute Daisy May is another sketch so here she is bathing the cute doggie in the bath. There are three types of backing paper from DCWV (I think) on a white square card. I cut the circle using my Nesties die cuts and coloured Daisy May with my new Promarkers (I love these) and oversprayed with silver glitter spray (I am addicted to this stuff I think lol). Do visit Daisy May challenge site and join in if you can - the more the merrier.

CANDY FROM SAMMIE

While my friend Sammie was belly dancing last night (imagine me with a belly dancing friend) '...it was suggested that our class belly dance the 5km Race for Life in pink costumes! Now I don't know enough people to sponsor me, but I had a thought: ask my blogging buddies to send me a card featuring pink (or blue to be pc!) that I will sell in Church in aid of Cancer Research. (See http://www.raceforlife.org/) As the race is on my birthday I thought I'd give some Candy to one sweet participant who will be drawn one week later on 24th May. The candy will increase by one item for every 10 cards I receive so please spread the message! Please send cards to: Sammie Clare, 8 Charles Mauger House, Bosq Lane, St Peter Port, Guernsey GY1 2JE including your name and e-mail address. Many thanks for your generosity in joining my efforts! Sammie '

I think this is a great idea and if you would like to join in please visit Sammie's blog or just send your cards to her address above. Thank you.

Maybe I will be lucky as May 24th is Bermuda day, as most of you know I have lived there for 11 years and am now going back to live there part time again - woohoo.

Friends

Posted by PicasaYet another sample card for Hobby Arts this time using Graham's scoreboard, the small shire horse, donkey, cloud and foliage stamps as well as the field of flowers small stamp. The foliage is again embossed with verdigris and the whole card sprayed with gold glitter spray. I coloured the animals using metallic and lyra pencils with the blender pen, added a pink ribbon and the friends tag.

Christmas in May

Posted by PicasaThis is an early Christmas card made for my DT card for Cute Daisy May 4th May Sketch challenge. I so wanted to use this background card, created using sticky stuff and overlaid gold foil, and it really shouted Christmas to me - sorry. I printed out the little man and coloured him using Inktense pencils and a blender pen, edged the card with red ink then added the santa hat printed from MCS cd and covered it in cotton wool for the fur and glitter sprayed. The swirly oval was from an aperture card set coloured with red ink then glittered with CC Gold Glitter Spray. The red strip of pearlised card has trees on and I added another gold strip, a reindeer and the tree stickers. I printed the parcel from MCS cd. The message, star and corner just to embellish - yet another card done for Christmas.

Friends in the fields

Another set of new stamps to be featured on Ideal World on the 4th June with the lovely Jenny from Hobby Art Stamps demonstrating. I stamped the hill top cottages, horse, donkey, fences and the foliage in black then over stamped and embossed the leaves using green embossing powder. I coloured the rest using metallic pencils, Inktense pens with the blender pen and added a few birds in black. I created the frame which was printed from one of Chris Warner cds then oversprayed with gold glitter spray and mounted on gold mirri card onto a brown curvy edged card. I added some green, orange and brown ribbon as the embellishment. I do hope you will watch the show and maybe purchase some of these lovely stamps. They are a joy to work with.

Yachts on the Ocean

Here is the second sample card for Jenny at Hobby Art stamps. I created a blue background using alcohol inks then added a white circle over which I stamped the yachts and coloured with Inktense Pens and the blender pen again. I then covered this with acetate, sprayed with silver glitter spray, and mounted inside a silver frame on a blue card similar in colour to the alcohol inks background.
