The Lighthouse - friend to sailors everywhere

I am currently in the process of sample making for Jenny at Hobby Art Stamps. These new stamps are to be featured on Ideal World on 4th June.

This first one is a navy blue spring card with a white scalloped circle cut from the Nestabilites die set overstamped in blue with the yachts out on the ocean. I then cut a plain circle and stamped with the lighthouse and coloured with Inktense pens using the blender pen. I edged with pale blue inks and oversprayed with silver glitter spray from Crafters Companion. I added the white base also overstamped with the lighthouse and edged in blue inks again.

TIME AND TIDE TAG

Here is a very large tag (could be a bookmark) made to cover three challenges tonight.

Sunday Stamper's challenge is 'Time', Frankie's Tag challenge is 'Time and Tide and Wednesday Stamper topic is 'Orange' so this fits all three.

I stamped the various images from Sheena Douglass and Stampscapes in black Archival ink then played with my wonderful new blending tool from Tim Holtz to colour with lots of inks, mainly oranges with a touch of blue for the tide.

I added the orange ribbon and oversprayed with gold glitter spray from Crafter's Companion.

Which Gem Today???

Here is my DT card for the Cute Daisy May 'Gems' challenge this week. I printed out the sky circle adding the gems using MCS cd then printed out the gems onto acetate and added stick on gems over the top of each gemstone. I attached the acetate slightly offset with a jewelled brad in the corner and sat Daisy May in the centre trying to decided which gem to wear today. I had embossed her in silver and coloured her using metallic pencils. I embellished with the words and the corner acetate flower.

B is for Blossom

My lovely friend Frankie has started up her new Tag it on challenge blog Dragon's Dream and the first challenge is Blossoms. The B stamp is from Glenda's Elusive Images stamped in brown Stazon (a change from black) onto a brown tag which I have edged in pink inks. The decoupaged wheelbarrow with flowers is from a Crafter's Delight book and I have added a pink flower brad and a brown and white spotted ribbon to complete the tag.

Daisy May's Rocking Horse

Here is my first Design Team card for Cute Daisy May challenges. I used a ciarcular edged card for the main card and lined with DCWV glittered card and gold peeloffs. I then cut circles from DCWV, green glitter paper and ran them thru the Cuttlebug. I printed out the downloaded Daisy May and embossed her using gold embossing powder then I cut the circular shape using my Nesties. I coloured her using metallic pencils and Cosmic Shimmers and added Stickles, feathers, and a butterfly. I added a smalled green circle with a little yellow felt circle that I found in Bruges together with a yellow flower and leaves. I added a green gem in the centre. The whole card is sprayed with Crafter's Companion Gold glitter spray.

PASTEL FLORAL GOTHIC ARCH

Here is my entry for a number of challenges this week, Cute Card Thursday theme 'Floral', Papertake Weekly 'Pastels', Dutch Dare 'Favorite Things' (Stickles and Cuttlebug), Gothic Arches 'Open' and Tanda Teaser 'Watercolours'. Five in One wow. I created the background using brayered and spritzed pastel watercolours and Cosmic Shimmer sprays then ran it through the Divine Swirls embossing folder and cut out the Gothic Arch. I printed out the Daisy May download and embossed using silver powder then watercoloured and glittered with Stickles. I made a tiny shrinkie and added her with ribbon. I then added a lovely acetate 3d flower sticker (3D not too clear on the scan).

Just For You Daisy May

This card is just for you Linnie of Cute Daisy May Designs to say many thanks for choosing me for your Design Team and is also my entry for this week's challenge 'Shaped Cards'. I am also entering this for Stamp Something 'Shapes' theme. I embossed the main image with silver embossing powder then coloured her using metallic pencils with some added Stickles Glitter glues. I also made a mini version using shrink plastic and coloured her with slightly different colours. Think I am hooked on shrinkies at the moment sorry folks lol. I used a sheet of Linnie's background papers and added some jewels in the centre of the stars. The flower and leaves are new acetate stickers which I love. A couple of final gold peels off to complete the look on this jump or spring card.

APRIL SHOWERS

A little card created for a Rainbow Friend April Showers swap and also for Created by Hand 'Spring' challenge this week. I created the main card background using various Glimmer Mists and Cosmic Shimmer sprays and trimmed the corners. I stamped Tilda in the rain onto a white glossy card and added the background using ink direct to the card. I coloured her using Lyra crayons. After adding a couple of photo corners and peel offs I sprayed her with the new Spray and Shine from Crafter's Companion.

This shows a typical English Spring with the April Showers.

SPRING INTO EASTER

This is my entry for Tanda Teaser 'Spring into Easter' challenge this week. Now you may not think this has anything to do with Easter but in Bermuda, where we lived for 11 years the tradition on Good Friday is for everyone to fly kites on the beach or anywhere possible. Even the Premier joins in on Horseshoe Beach and folks eat codfish cakes inside hot cross buns (codfish is not cod but still a fish!!!)..ugh we never did that, imagine fish inside a hot cross bun - strange traditions places have.

So you have learned something new today lol.

Now back to the card, the base from a DCWV glitter stack, nice and flowery. The little boy is from Cute Daisy May downloads which I love, coloured and enhanced with glossy accents inside a silver frame. I attached the kite and added some ribbon and beads with a bow and a little green parrot charm. The shapes are from a Colourbok chipboard kit from QVC.

I am using this for my challenge this week topic DANGLERS.

All girls together

Another for Cute Daisy May challenges, this one Brown and Pink. The spotted glitter background is from DCWV glitter stack and the swirly card from K and Co. Firstly I printed out the Daisy May image onto embossing paper and embossed in gold then coloured her using Metallic Pencils and Permapaque pens and added some Stickles (of course). I then printed her out again onto shrink plastic and coloured her the same way and shrunk her down together with her pink poodle. A little butterfly tag and a couple of gold peeloffs and the message All Girls (well there are two girls and two lady poodles). I also cut the corners with corner edger scissors. I think I am now a Daisy May addict lol. I am also entering this for Cute Card Thursday challenge this week as that is Pink and Brown too.

Cute Daisy May

Here is one I made for the Cute Daisy May challenge this week using a sketch - yes, a sketch. I don't often do them so this is a change for me. The background papers and vellums are freebies from Making Cards magazine layered and torn onto a pink pearlised card. The main Daisy May image is a download from Helping Hands, printed out onto embossing paper and embossed with silver powder. I then coloured her in using some metallic pencils from Tesco, Permapaque Pens then covered her with some Tiom Holtz Distress Stickles - I love them. She is mounted onto rose pink mirri card on blue mirri card - the colours are for the Colour Create Rose and Duck Egg Blue challenge. I added a double blue and pink flower with a brad centre to complete the look.

ART

'Art' is the challenge over at Lots to Do challenges today so think this card made for my Art Teacher will qualify. Using lots of stamps from a clear set from The Stamp Bug and coloured with chalks, background chalked too, with just a few clear epoxy stickers to highlight words.

'I say, that can't be our chick - it's the wrong colour!'

Sorry - I do seem to be in Easter mode tonight with another card made using the Front and Back stamps - back only this time and a little freebie chick emerging from the egg. Again stamped and coloured with watercolours and oversprayed with Sara's glitter spray. The baby chick is coloured with some metallic pencils I found at Tesco and some new Permapaque pens. That's it for tonight. Ooh - Lili of the Valley have an 'Easter' challenge too so this is for you girls. Happy Easter. Sunday Stampers have the 'Birds' challenge today so all the cards I made tonight qualify, I must have been psychic.

Another Easter card this time for

Stamp Something Happy Easter challenge.

Joanna's chicks stamped onto white card with black Stazon then coloured using watercolours with some added stones and grasses from Stampscapes. I oversprayed the whole card with Sara's glitter spray then mounted on brown card onto a double sided card from K and Co. with just an added clear sticker greeting to finish off.

A cute Easter card for the Dutch Dare challenge this week showing the back and front of the card using ARt Impressions stamps. Stamped in black Stazon and coloured with watercolours then sprayed with some of Sara's new glitter sprays with an added Easter Greeting sticker. Simple , quick and easy to do.

Green and Yellow

Two cards made for the new Simon Says 'Green and Yellow' challenge today. The first is one of the Limited Edition doll stamps attached over a Cuttlebugged background using brads to attach the moving arms. Coloured with Sakura pens and edged with sticky ribbons. The second background on the Gothic Arch was created using Alcohol Inks and overstamped with black Stazon. I attached the acetate butterfly with a brad and added a coin and a vellum quote. I am in a green and yellow mood today hence two cards. The hula dancer first card is also my card for the My Time to Craft challenge 'Island fun'.

YOU NEED HANDS

Here is the card I created for my challenge this week the topic being HANDS.

I printed the background from MCS having changed the colour to a very light pink then overlayed the couple as a black silhouette. I printed this on cream parchment and attached to a pink card, having cut the edges with my Purple Cows trimmer and added a few gold peeloffs. I stamped out the hands and sentiment from Sharon Duncan who is kindly sponsoring my blog this week with a prize for a lucky someone. I coloured the hands using chalks then sprayed with the new Gold Glitter Spray from Crafter's Companion - a super product which gives this light gold glittered effect. I also sprayed the sentiment then attached both to the card.
