Winter Trees

After watching Barbara from Clarity stamps the other week I thought I would give a go to one of her Brayering techniques - here is the result. I brayered onto a white silk glossy card having torn a piece of paper for the hills. I then overstamped the trees, from Stampendous, created the shadows and added some bushes at the front of the card. A little grass effect and three birds (never use even numbers for birds) gives the final touch to this card. Thought this would be good for my entry to Papertake Weekly 'Seasons' challenge too.

PASTEL FLORAL GOTHIC ARCH

Here is my entry for a number of challenges this week, Cute Card Thursday theme 'Floral', Papertake Weekly 'Pastels', Dutch Dare 'Favorite Things' (Stickles and Cuttlebug), Gothic Arches 'Open' and Tanda Teaser 'Watercolours'. Five in One wow. I created the background using brayered and spritzed pastel watercolours and Cosmic Shimmer sprays then ran it through the Divine Swirls embossing folder and cut out the Gothic Arch. I printed out the Daisy May download and embossed using silver powder then watercoloured and glittered with Stickles. I made a tiny shrinkie and added her with ribbon. I then added a lovely acetate 3d flower sticker (3D not too clear on the scan).

Autumn Leaves

Decided to make a little booklet of an atc for an Autumn swap and also for Papertake Weekly challenge. The background on glossy card, was made using alcohol inks (a sample made by my friend Frankie at NEC last year) then overstamped with black and green Stazon with the various leaves. I added a mountboard piece covered in coloured inks then stamped and glazed with Glossy Accents. I attached a leaf, stamped in black Stazon, onto gold metal foil then embossed underneath to get the veins. The inside is coloured with inks and overstamped with the leaves in various colours. I folded the card, added some velcro fastenings and made it into a little booklet.

Hot and Spicy

'Hot' was the challenge from Papertake Weekly so here is mine. Lots of different torn papers and textures including gold metal run through the Cuttlebug make up the background for this card. I stamped the red feathers onto the orange card and added red ribbons, buttons and gold peeloffs with a red satin heart.

Dreaming of Espana

Gothic Arches challenge this week was 'Spain' which I found quite difficult as I don't have any Spanish stamps at all. So I had to play with colours instead and used Stardust Stains to spray the background using three different shades of orange and reds. They are lovely and glittery in real life. I stamped various travel icons in brown Stazon then added three Spanish die cuts - oh just remembered, Papertake Weekly asked for 'Die Cuts 'too. The last little touch was the Barcelona sticker.

I am sure my Brother-in-law will be having a pint on his birthday so this card is very appropriate for him. The dominoes background paper is from Kanban with torn and distressed edges. The main image was stamped and coloured in watercolour pencils and matted on gold linen paper. The small glass image is also from Kanban. This is my entry for Papertake Weekly 'Men' challenge too.

Lilac and Lime Thank You Tag

Three challenges in one today with this 'Thank you' for Stamp Something, 'Lilac and Lime' for Papertake Weekly and 'Pretty and Feminine' for Tag You're It. The backing papers torn and edged with purple inks, and stamped in purple, are from Nancy's Making Cards freebies as is the pocket and tag. I have mounted them on silver mirri and attached ribbons, sentiment, and a silver corner.

Tilda Remembers

Yet another new stamp from Joanna arrived so I just had to use it didn't I? This is for TGIF 'Acetate', Sunday Stampers 'Words' and Papertake Weekly 'Elegant Embossing' challenges. The striped background paper was made using Starburst Stains and the scrunch technique and layered onto a blue pearl card.

I added some sticky ribbons and a piece of acetate which I ran through a Cuttlebug embossing folder and inked with pink ink. Tilda is stamped and coloured in Sakura pens and chalks with distressed edges. I added the acetate word with a gold brad.

Glittered Doll

Sorry, another Christmas card but just love this Winter Dancing Doll stamp and the challenge at Crazy Amigo this week was 'Dolls' so I had to use her. Stamped in black Stazon and coloured with Marvy Pens and glittered, her arms move with the gold brads so you can place them anywhere you wish. Mounted onto starry vellum she can also be my entry for Papertake Weekly 'Glitter' and Sunday Stampers 'Faces' challenges. Also, she is going as an early entry to Fab's Christmas challenge site too.

Happy Birdday

Covered a few challenges with this one tonight. DCM extra was 'Pastels' and I have chalked using various pastel shades. Tanda Teaser challenge was

'Word-Play' which I have shown in the sentiment. Papertake Weekly asked for 'Making Waves' so I trimmed the edges with a scalloped blade and

Created By Hand wanted us to use 'Stencils' so I have used this Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls folder as a stencil. Two of the birds from Glenda's Elusive Images, are also decoupaged and have a slight hint of Sakura pens in there. There we are.

Weather with you

Today is very wet and windy here in the Highlands so this card is ideal for the Papertake Weekly challenge 'Weather with you'. Made using images from Joanna Sheen's Hollywood cd over some music paper and edged with peel offs on a brown card.

Oriental Tryptych

Here is a three in one set of atcs tonight covering TMTA 'Tryptych', Papertake Weekly 'Squares and Step Outside Your Box 'Tea and Coffee' challenges. Firstly, I attached three atcs with sticky Oriental ribbon then sponged inks over them to colour them. I next stamped the Flourish stamp in brown Stazon to overlap each card. The three central stamped squares from Rubbadubbadoo were made by sponging cold tea onto glossy white card then overstamping with the same stamp. I added some Oriental corners and motifs and added a piece of acetate with a jewel brad. I also overstamped the acetate with the Flourish stamp and scanned it unevenly so you could see the overlay.

Blue Green Flutterbyes

This card (the background made yesterday before I knew of the Blue Green challenge) is for two challenges, Papertake Weekly 'Blue Green' and

My Time to Craft 'Wings' challenges. I created the background using alcohol inks and Glimmer mists all mixed together then sponged on glossy card. I then stamped the dragonfly and sentiments from Choice Clear Stamps with blue Stazon. The stampboard, coloured in the same way with the stamped dragonfly is triple embossed, but instead of making it smooth I have left it with a raised tactile finish for a different effect. Silver peeloffs to finish it off.

Spring in your step

This is my entry for the Papertake Weekly 'Spring in your step challenge'. The background was made using butterscotch and caramel alcohol inks onto a glossy card, together with a dash of gold which makes the card sparkle then matted onto a green card. Difficult to see the sparkle on the scan. The stamps are from a varied flower set stamped over the alcohol inks with yellow, green and purple inks. The centre message secured with a yellow flower brad reads 'Friends are the flowers in the garden of life' - very true I think.

Stripes

'Stripes' is the challenge from Papertake Weekly, so here is my stripey card I share with you. Fleur de Lis paper, striped and plain, tags and a pocket watch all matted and layered combine to make this card.

Textured Flowers

Two different challenges covered in this card that I share with you tonight.

Step Outside Your Box challenge was to create 'Texture' and the Papertake Weekly challenge was 'Blooming Gorgeous'. First I painted a white glossy card with two colours of blue acrylic paints then took a piece of silver foil and scrunched it over whilst the paint was still wet. When dry I used the Cuttlebug 'Stylised Flower' embossing folder to create background flowers. I added the peeloffs and the large pink flower that I won in a card competition together with purple flowers and a pink brad centre. A very different type of card for me I think you will agree.

A Pocket with a Ribboned Heart

I have covered three challenges here Scrummy Stash Cafe 'Ribbons', Papertake Weekly 'Hearts Desire' and Arty Girlz 'Pockets'. The red and white heart paper is simply torn onto a cream landscape, for a change, hammered card. I added a silver flower foiled square then placed the plastic pocket on top. In the pocket is a red velvet heart with a red ribbon bow. The finishing touches were the red roses and gold and red ribbon bow and the silver peeloff message.

Celestial Blue

'Blue' was the topic for Papertake Weekly and 'Celestial' the topic for Caardvarks, so I can combine the two challenges with this card. This is one of my favourite stamps stamped in black Stazon onto acetate then coloured with Sakura pens. It was then layered onto blue mulberry paper onto a Cuttlebug embossed piece of blue sparkly paper onto a blue card edged with silver peeloffs..

Shades of Red

I made this a couple of days ago for a Monochromatic (shades of the same colour - not black and white as many people think) card swap and have used shades of red for a change. As my card is now in the mail I can safely post this on here. The Oriental tree from English Stamp Company, was stamped and embossed using red sparkle embossing powder and some of the flowers are also coloured with red Sakura glitter pens. I added the coin and words sticker embellishments, and the same tree made out of shrink plastic, and matted onto gold mirri card with a red and gold butterfly in the corner. The insert is also red and Oriental.

Now today I find the challenge over at Papertake Weekly is 'Roses Are Red', so this is an ideal card for the challenge. I must be psychic.

Oriental Stampboard Thank You

Well, here is a totally new method of stamping for me using stampboard. I coloured the stampboard first with three colours of pearlescent acrylic paint mixed together (orange, yellow and gold) then stamped the water lily from English Stamp Company in black Stazon. I then glittered with Pee Wee glitters and edged the stamp outline with my favourite Sakura pens. This was then mounted on black card to look like a frame and layered onto the flowered Oriental paper edged with gold peeloffs. I stamped the words and the lilies on the orange card and highlighted with the glitter pens. The message and corner peeloffs finished it off. This should do for Papertake Weekly challenge 'Thanks A Bunch', Created By Hand 'Frames' challenge and Step Outside Your Box 'Acrylic Paints' challenge.
