MIMOSA LIGHTS THE WAY
I know, I know it is spring and here is a Christmas card - but never too early to start making them in my opinion.
This card is for my challenge this week - the topic being another song - 'Lady in Red'.
As I am still away sunning myself I did not have any other suitable lady stamps with me... this new one I bought at NEC and it came over in the suitcase.... so that is why I decided to make my 'Lady in Red' a Christmas lady.
Even though I don't normally do cute I loved these Bild Malarna stamps as soon as I saw them and just had to buy Mimosa lighting the way with her lamp.
She was stamped onto white card and coloured with Copics - yes, I did bring them with me - then I added some silver glitter for the snow effect. I mounted her onto a QVC gorgeous red card and added the Winter Blessings stamp and some flowers, holly and another little red bow.... yes I am hooked on these too.
Do check out my challenge blog and give the challenge a go - there is a fab voucher from Joanna Sheen up for grabs this week.

The background is from My Craft Studio... 'Womens Images' . I coloured with Copics and decoupaged the glasses over the top. The wine bottle and glass are stickers from a wine set from QVC.Do check out my challenge - you could win some lovely digis yourself.

Happy New Year - Chinese Style

Here is my DT card for my challenge this week which is Chinese New Year.I made the card for my sister and brother in law as they are very fond of anything Asian. I used a scalloped card from QVC and ran it through the Cuttlebug Bamboo embossing folder then coloured with a couple of green Distress Inks. I made the little panda from shrink plastic - a while since I played with it. I stamped the rabbit, as this year is the Year of the Rabbit, and coloured with pastel chalks. The lady is from a chipboard freebie magazine set. The label is cut from my new and wonderful Cuttlebug Plus Fanciful Labels folder - how great to cut and emboss at the same time. I stamped the message from a See D's Asian Designs set and coloured in the same distress inks. I added a border to the inside of the card and some gems to embellish.
Happy New Year and do pop over and enter my challenge - you could win a lovely Joanna Sheen voucher.

Paint it

My dear musician friend John has a birthday next week so here is the card I created for him and for my challenge this week - the topic being 'Paint it'.I created the background on white Eco Art board using Eco Green paints, green with butternut over the top. I dragged a plastic tool over the two colours to get the textured background then mounted it onto a die cut shape from Tim Holtz run through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I stamped the guitars and coloured them in slightly with big and juicy inks not covering totally so as to see the grained texture underneath. I added a couple of die cut shapes from a QVC kit and stamped the message from Banana Frog. I finally edged the art board with the same green paint to cover the white edges.
If you like messing with paints do pop over and give my challenge a go this week and have some fun.

A Winter's View

Gosh these girls at Bah Humbug have really got me at the Christmas cards now so here is another for their challenge this week. This time I have chosen trees, baubles, glitter and holly as my combos. I stamped and embossed the tree scene from The Stamp Barn then sprayed the top third of the card with blue Cosmic shimmer spray and the bottom with green. I added some gold and silver Glitter pen again, a couple of holly corner stickers and another of these fabulous glitter stickers from QVC and a tiny little snowflake bauble too.
One more for Christmas

Another card ready for Christmas and also for this week's Bah Humbug challenge 'Cool Combos'. They asked us to use three or more of the previous challenge topics so mine are Trees, Snowmen, Glitter and Baubles (see I chose four).First I stamped the image from who knows where, and coloured using Copics and Promarkers then added gold and silver glitter from Marvy Just glitter pens to highlight the snow, the houses and the trees. I then cut out the image and overlayed this lovely transparent acetate self adhesive glittered sticker from QVC. I added some snowmen vellum to a silver card attaching with the two coloured bauble brads then added the scene and sentiment. Hope you like it ladies.

The border is from a QVC cupcake set and the chipbaord embellishments are from the DCWV Sweet collection. The Year of the Tiger

TEATIME

Here is my Teatime card for my challenge this week. The stamps are from this month's Dimension Fourth Project club - I love the teacosy on the teapot and the cupcakes are so lifelike and yummy looking. They were coloured with a mix of Promarkers and Copics then glittered with Cosmic Shimmer glitter glues - not too visible on the scan. The gingham, yee haa, background paper and sentiment are from a QVC kit. A simple but effective card I think with the brown card on the front opening as well as the white card - handy for another message.Do join in my challenges if you get a chance I am sure you will enjoy it.

65th Birthday Word Book

My musician friend John will be 65 next week so I made him a musical word book using guitars and piano, he plays both, record icons which he will remember well - as I do, together with snooker balls - he loves the game and a picture of old men playing dominoes tee hee lol. These icons are from a QVC Kanban male kit and the book itself from Funky Hand Word Books cd. I just added ribbon and glitter glue to define the letters, not too clear on the scan of course.Thursday, April 09, 2009
SPRING INTO EASTER
This is my entry for Tanda Teaser 'Spring into Easter' challenge this week. Now you may not think this has anything to do with Easter but in Bermuda, where we lived for 11 years the tradition on Good Friday is for everyone to fly kites on the beach or anywhere possible. Even the Premier joins in on Horseshoe Beach and folks eat codfish cakes inside hot cross buns (codfish is not cod but still a fish!!!)..ugh we never did that, imagine fish inside a hot cross bun - strange traditions places have. So you have learned something new today lol.
Now back to the card, the base from a DCWV glitter stack, nice and flowery. The little boy is from Cute Daisy May downloads which I love, coloured and enhanced with glossy accents inside a silver frame. I attached the kite and added some ribbon and beads with a bow and a little green parrot charm. The shapes are from a Colourbok chipboard kit from QVC.
I am using this for my challenge this week topic DANGLERS.
Happy Easter to one and all.
