Beautiful Bermuda Blue

Posted by Picasa Here is my double whammy for Daring Cardmakers Midweek extra dare 'Take a letter Mrs Jones' and Wednesday Stamper challenge 'Blue'. I have taken the letter B and the colour Blue. Whenever I hear the word Blue I always think of our beautiful Bermuda Korat cat who was named Blue. We adopted her whilst living in Bermuda and she lived with us almost 16 years before passing away two years ago in Scotland. So I have attached the photo of Blue lying on a blue quilt on the bed in Bermuda, to a blue pearlescent card with a background paper sprayed, to get the speckled effect, with the Memory Mister in the colour Blackberry Cobbler. I have stamped the words Bermuda Blue and Memories in Blue Stazon and I have added a silver peeloff border, brads, blue bow and a blue button. I have also added a red balloon brad because I link balloons with heaven, where I am sure she now is - purring away happily.

Metal Art

Posted by Picasa Today's challenge from Think Monday Think ATC was to create something using 'Metal Art'. The backgrounds here were created using the Snowflakes and Spots and Blooms Cuttlebug Embossing folders on red and blue metal foil.
The blue atc has a Meryle's Tuliptopper raised on foam and a silver metal snowman brad (snowmen again!!!). The red one has another Meryle image encased in a white photo mount with a poinsettia sticker and a gold metal brad. Ooh - I liked this one and now I have some atcs ready to give away at Christmas. Today is wet and miserable more like winter than summer!

Snowman with Buttons

Posted by Picasa Here I am back in Christmas mood for the Daring Cardmakers 'Buttons' challenge. My little snowman is a simple die cut embellished with two green buttons. He is sitting on black glitter card, layered on silver card and matted onto silver mirri card (which was not easy to photograph as I could see the camera in the card!!) The peeloff stars and message complete this simple card. One more off the Christmas card list. Hooray.

Stitches

Posted by Picasa The Wednesday Stamper challenge this week was 'Stitches'. Sewing is not my favourite subject but here is my entry. The printed stitched aperture from a Lisa Bearnson kit was attached to the spotted card. An acetate flower with a jewelled centre was added in the aperture. The message was stamped and attached with a cream brad. The spots have jewelled centres also.

Dots and Dashes - Spots and Stripes

Posted by Picasa Daring Cardmakers midweek extra dare was 'Dots and Dashes - Spots and Stripes' so here is my attempt. The striped and dotted cards from a Lisa Bearnson kit, were attached to a plain white card. The pink card was attached on the side and a pink acetate butterfly and gold peeloffs added. Also a green glittered bow and message peeloff to finish it off.

Stranded on the Rocks

Posted by Picasa Yet another Stampscapes and Art Impressions card, this one for a 'Sea' competition. After stamping out the design I coloured this card with a new set of The Stencil Collection non-smear pastels.

TMTA 'If Music be the Food of Love Play on' ATC

Posted by Picasa The Monday ATC challenge for TMTA was 'Music' so here is my entry 'If Music be the Food of Love Play On' - early this week. The music backing paper was torn and attached to some fancy coloured card. The torn edges are chalked in mauve. The pianist, harp and mandolin are from the Artsy Collage book and the Music letters are from a wonderful book of perforated rub-on alphabet letters. I then added some purple Stickles glitter glue and a pink heart to embellish.

TMTA Numbers

Posted by Picasa Here is my very late entry for the Think Monday Think ATC numbers challenge. Ok - I know I am late but just returned from holidays. High fashion items boots and gloves were torn from an Artsy Collage book and attached over a gold butterfly mirri card on a cream and black background paper. Edged with white and gold ribbons and a high fashion message with a 'boots for sale at $3.50' sign. If only boots were that price now!

Another Stampscapes Scene

Posted by PicasaHere is the card I made for the JS Card Swap last month. The scene using various Stampscapes stamps, is stamped with black Stazon then coloured in using H2O's and watercolour paints and placed on gold mirri card on an orange pearlized card. Gold peeloffs finished it off nicely.

Dancing Doll with Frilly Bits

Posted by PicasaDaring Cardmakers challenge was 'Frilly Bits' so here is my effort. The 'Queen of Hearts' Dancing Doll is a stamp from the States. I stamped and embossed the doll with gold sparkly embossing powder onto cream card then coloured in with Marvy marker pens. The arms are attached with gold brads and move up and down (children love these cards). The black and gold lacy skirt is attached at the back and raised onto the black card with a double layer of foam pads to give extra height. Gold peeloff corners finish the card off. I don't think it needs anything else do you??? You need to enlarge the picture to get the full effect.

Frilly Bits

Posted by Picasa I received this thank you card from a very old lady called Joan and thought it so lovely I would show it for the Daring Cardmakers 'Frilly Bits' dare. My creation is on it's way - late, as just returned from hols.

Pierot and Dancer No 2

Posted by Picasa My third card swap is another variation of the pierot and dancer image from Joanna. Again matted and layered onto silver mirri card and with added Stickles glitter glue.

Just for You Stack It

Posted by Picasa I love this stack-it way of matting and layering and think it is a very effective and different way of showing off Joanna's images. Again edged with silver peeloffs and messages and Stickles glitter glue. I thought I may as well make a few cards from the same CD whilst I was making card swap cards, this is my second one.

Pierot and Dancer

Posted by Picasa A lovely Joanna Sheen image matted and layered on silver mirri card and embellished with silver peeloffs. I also added Stickles glitter to the skirt of the dancer and a just for you message. This card is for a card swap.

Pagoda and Lighthouse Oriental ATC's

Posted by Picasa Yes I'm back from hols at last and here are a couple of Oriental ATC's for the Craft Cow Swap. The atc's were covered with green Oriental paper, then embellished with Oriental postcards, Lighthouse and Pagoda, gold peeloffs and oriental ribbons . The top layer is acetate attached with dragonfly brads. The messages are from Meryle's Tuliptoppers Oriental range.

Me and Big Foot Geoff in Bruges

Posted by Picasa Here we are on our Horse and Carriage ride in Bruges. Geoff with the broken foot and the big blow up boot.

Fantastic Waffles in Bruges

Posted by Picasa Had these fantastic waffles, strawberries and ice cream in a local restaurant. The staff know me and always give me extra sparklers, which I keep in a vase at home. Crazy I know, but they do look pretty.

African Safari

Posted by Picasa Here is another African ATC for Joanna's swap. A double layered one this time, the bottom layer being velvet animal print paper with African Safari and the sun embellished in gold peeloffs on black card. The top layer is again a multi exposure of a zebra and giraffe drinking from the pond. This is attached to gold holographic card with a gold brad and the grass was created out of gold stickers.

Africa ATC

Posted by Picasa This ATC was made for the Joanna Sheen Africa swap. The photos of the giraffe and elephant were multiexposed (merged) to give the shadowed effect and are attached with gold peeloffs. Some of the different African country flags are attached with lettered brads spelling out Africa.

Tags

The Think Monday Think ATC challenge this week is to make something with at least one 'Tag' so here are two for you to look at. I am still in Christmas mood at present, due to the weather being more like November than August.
The tags are attached to the Christmas backing paper with eyelets - I used my new purple Crop-a-dile, which I already love. The tags are cards covered with clear gold edged stickers and the embellishments are gold peeloffs and corner stickers. The Joy message sticker has a button in the centre of the O.

'It's About Time' - Number 2 - 'Look Back on'

Posted by Picasa Another time card for Daring Cardmakers 'It's about time' dare. The script backing paper is layered onto a gold sparkly card and the 'Look back on' clocks plus script and acetate overlay are attached with a gold dragonfly brad. I've also added a couple of clear clock and script stickers with script to embellish the card.

'It's About Time'

Posted by Picasa Daring Cardmakers challenge this week was 'It's About Time' and yes - it is about time I was back making cards after my fabulous week away in Bruges.
This card is a male oriented Good Luck card made with stripy backing paper layered onto a fleur-de-lis paper. The pocketwatch was cut from card stock and layered with the fleur-de-lis on a chain. Lots of layering going on here with the Good luck message also layered. There are about four layers in all. Layering crazy!!
Glad to be back with you all again.
