Swirls and Flourishes

Here is another card made using Glenda's wonderful new stamps. The background card is spritzed and sprayed with Glimmer Mists and Starburst Stains then overstamped in Midnight Blue Stazon using the swirl and flourish stamps. I took some blue holographic card and oversprayed with white Webbing Spray then attached the stamped image of the star. This too was layered on silver holographic card with webbing spray and colour tinted with inks to match the background. I just added the stamped sentiment on the same sprayed card. I have used this for my own challenge of 'Swirls and Flourishes' this week.

Happy Birdday Arch

Here is my 'Blue' and 'For the Birds' challenge cards, the first for Arty Girlz and the second for Gothic Arches. I created the background using the new Garden of Romance MCS cd then overstamped in Midnight Blue Stazon the birds and flowers from one of Glenda's sets. I added a tiny gold edge with Pentouch gold marker and added the sentiments then layered the arch onto a pale blue card.

Blue Moo

Whilst using Glenda's stamps I decided to make a 'Blue Moo' for Created By Hand challenge this week. The background is again from MCS Garden of Romance simply overstamped in blue Stazon. I really am not keen on these tiny creations but each to their own I guess.

Games Men Play

This is a birthday card for my husband on 31st and also for Sunday Stampers 'Games People Play' challenge. The background dominoes paper, beer glass, rugby and snooker decals are from a QVC set from Kanban. The main image I stamped and watercoloured with Lyra crayons then matted onto gold mirri card over the torn background paper. The snooker table, from Sharon Duncan, was part of the prize I won this week from Arty Girlz. All things on here are very relevant to Geoff of course.

Wylde Women Award x 5

Wow, I have been given this award three times in the last few minutes by the lovely Sue, Beryl and TracieJane and also the lovely Ann. Well, now I have received this award again from the lovely Carol so thank you so much. You have all made my day ladies and I thank you so much. Yes, I guess I was a Wylde Woman in my younger days and can still often be found rocking away to live bands up here in the North of Scotland. Some of my favourites are linked to my blog and others you can hear on my playlist.

Three Wise Men

This is my version of Lynn's TV card from earlier this week. This wonderful new Christmas stamp from Glenda was stamped in black Stazon onto acetate with a few added green ferns from the candle stamp. The back was covered with glue and gold and blue leaf flakes added. I printed out a pale blue background paper from the Artylicious Seasons Greetings cd and attached the image after cutting round the hems, with gold brads to the white square card which was preprinted with best wishes. The gold leafing shows up wonderfully in real life and is shot with blue and orange hues.

Another Village Scene

Whilst I was making the last card I thought I may as well use the same stamp, from Glenda, to make another similar one, this time a 4 x 4 for the 4 x 4 Friday 'Spray and Splash' challenge. I sprayed and spritzed the Glimmer mists to create the background then stamped with Midnight Blue Stazon. Next I ran the whole image through the snow dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder to get the raised effect. I added some extra direct to paper sponged inks and a touch of glitter then raised on foam onto a white card. I had previously sponged the edges with blue inks.

I have to say thank you to the lovely Carol for this great award she has given to me. It is much appreciated and I am so grateful.

Winter Village Scene

Here is my entry for Glenda's Christmas card competition, you can find the details on her website. Using various shades of blue I created the background with Glimmer mists spritzed and sprayed onto white card. I then overstamped the village image from Glenda's new Christmas stamps in midnight blue Stazon. I matted this onto silver mirri card and rounded the corners. I stamped the lovely swirl stamp and embossed with Cosmic shimmer silver embossing powder onto the pale blue card. I covered a piece of stampboard with silver embossing powder then overstamped the stars and edged with silver pentouch pen. I added an eyelet and silver cord and raised the stampboard on foam tape to give dimension for the embellishment. As always the Glimmer mists do not show up too well on the scan sorry, but they do glimmer in real life.

Musical Heart

'Hearts 'was the topic this week over at Theme Thursday so here is my very quick and simple card. I stamped and coloured, with Lyra crayons, the heart stamp then added watercolours to create the background. Matted onto some sticky backed card from DCWV and mounted onto a swirly gate fold card from my Kanban box. I just finished it off with some brown and cream spotted ribbon.

A card for 'Men' was the challenge from Arty Girlz this week so here is one I made a week or so ago. I stamped and coloured the main image from Creative Expressions I think, then matted and layered onto an orangey card slightly offsetting the image. I added some torn dominoes paper to a brown pearlescent card ,attached the image and found a smaller die cut of a pint of beer to finish it off.

Hawaiian Hula Dancing Doll

I wanted to create something different for a card swap with the Embossing theme but I ended up also covering a few challenges with this creation today, first Saturday Workout 'Spotlight', Step Outside Your Box 'Watercolours', TGIF 'Quotes' and DCM 'Journalling Spot'. Firs,t I created the background using an MCS cd with various Hibiscus flowers and colours on a varigated and muted background. I added to this torn background paper a green card run through the Textile Cuttlebug embossing folder, then added a piece of acetate embossed with the Swirls folder. These were attached with sticky matching ribbon. I stamped and embossed in silver, the Hula dancing doll from Limited Edition Rubber Stamps, and painted her using watercolours and Cosmic shimmers, her arms and legs attached with silver brads and mounted on foam tape. The quote reads 'Wake up every morning with the thought that something Wonderful is about to happen,' and I added Summer and the domed acetate spotlighted 'Follow Your Dreams'. In case you do not know the Hibiscus flower is the State flower of Hawaii where Hula dancers can be seen performing each evening around the sunset hour. I hope my partner will be happy with this card.

Artfully Asian

I just love Oriental themes so was delighted to see 'Artfully Asian' as the challenge at My Time to Craft this week. First, I added some torn Glenda paper to an orange card and overlayed this with some orange pearlescent paper and some orange sticky ribbondown the edge. I attached a small orange square with fans which was from a QVC kit. I then created the orange background for the stamp using Stardust Stains in a couple of orangey colours then stamped over it in black Stazon the Creative Expressions wonderful Geisha stamp. I added some clear lantern and fan stickers and attached this lovely orange fan, from Lakeland, with a gold brad. I finished off with lots of little orange and gold Stickles glitter dots on the flowers, sleeves and fans. I also used this card for my own Monotone Rainbow challenge this week.

An arch within an arch

Gothic Arches asked for 'Cats' and Lots to do Sunday asked for 'Silhouettes' so I have combined the two with this card. I stamped and coloured the arch with the silhouetted cat from Dimension Fourth, then cut out the windows and mounted onto acetate. I then stamped the outside background with the squirrel and a few blades of grass and a couple of flowers and a bird then sponged the green and blue background areas and the window sill with inks direct to paper. The curtain background was made using Stardust Stains with the scrunch technique and chopped and torn to form the shape. I added the curtain blue tassel with a brad then cut the whole card in the shape of the Gothic Arch.

Card for Erin Kate

Well, here is my card for our new Grand-daughter who was born on Friday 11th July at 946pm. I used one of the large Michele Marsden cards with a couple of pink torn background sheets. I then added the small gold dekkle edged card which was covered in one of the same background papers then added some die cut decoupage and a sentiment with a couple of gold peel off corners and some sticky pink ribbon. I attached pink ribbon to this card and inside added various little toys and sayings. A few extra embellishments including chipboard letters for the name and a couple of gems completed the front. The insert on the right I created using My Craft Studio. I also on the left inside added the meaning of the names Erin, Gaelic for 'Eire' and Kate, Greek for 'Pure'. I hope they like it.

Peel Off Kimono

'Peel Offs' was the challenge from DCM this week so here is my Oriental version. The background was stamped, stamps from English Stamp Company, and embossed with red embossing powder then the red card was mounted over the top, also stamped and embossed in red. I added the peeloffs, kimono, shoes and fan to a piece of red card then cut them out and mounted onto the red card which was edged with gold peeloffs. I added a red vellum butterfly for the finishing touch.

Chalked Travel Post Card

A couple of challenges covered with this card, Crazy Amigo and Lots to do Sunday both have 'Travel' as their theme. I stamped with black Stazon onto cream card then chalked using various colours over the images to get a soft effect.

New Stempel Award

I have just received yet another award from the lovely Sue, so many thanks go to her. Please do check out her blog as she has some lovely creations on there. Now for the difficult part which is where it should go now. Winter Wonderland

Artistic Stamper has a 'Christmas' challenge and DCM a 'Winter' one so here is my Winter Wonderland. I stamped the scene using black Stazon and Art Impressions and Stampscapes stamps then coloured it using Cosmic shimmers, inks and Lyra crayons with water. The whole card is very sparkly and shimmery, difficult to reproduce in the scan. Oops forgot to add My Time to Craft 'Seasons' challenge too.

Cherry Blossom House

This week's challenge at Dans Ma Maison il y a du Rose or 'Pink' in English. After cutting my house card I covered it with pink and white flourishy paper then overstamped my Cherry Blossom stamp in black Stazon. I added some Japanese tree stamps then coloured with Cosmic Shimmers. I added a couple of coats of Glossy Accents to the flower and leaves then attached a few pink glittery gemstones and some pink and gold ribbon edges. This is also my entry for my challenge blog topic of 'My favourite Flower' this week, which was set by Tiina.

Visit Scotland

I managed to cover three challenges with this card tonight, 'Black, White and Grey' for Created by Hand, 'Newspapers' for Wednesday Stamper and 'Travel' for Tanda Teaser. I stamped the background with the Thistle stamp in black Stazon then added torn peieces from our local newspaper with a couple of typed and stamped captions. Visit Inverness and see the Highland Games, listen to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and try to spot the Loch Ness Monster on your travels. Welcome to the Highlands – a great place to live, work and play

MC Studio cd I have printed the background on vellum and overlayed the bottles, glasses and message. A very quick and easy card.
