TEATIME

Posted by PicasaHere is my Teatime card for my challenge this week.  The stamps are from this month's Dimension Fourth Project club - I love the teacosy on the teapot and the cupcakes are so lifelike and yummy looking.  They were coloured with a mix of Promarkers and Copics then glittered with Cosmic Shimmer glitter glues - not too visible on the scan.  The gingham, yee haa, background  paper and sentiment are from a QVC kit.  A simple but effective card I think with the brown card on the front opening as well as the white card - handy for another message.
Do join in my challenges if you get a chance I am sure you will enjoy it.

Second workshop project

Posted by PicasaA nice messy work of art here. The background is actually on a white card swirled with Distress inks then overstamped with water on the stamps to remove colour instead of add it. The trees were then overstamped with Black Archival inks over the top of the faded image and highlighted with white pen and Cosmic Shimmer glitter glues. The moon was created in the same way and again highlighted with white and sparkles. The whole background was then sprayed with water adding droplets then removing with a soft towel to get the snowy effects. The swirl was stamped and embossed with silver then the edges rubbed with Black Soot Distress ink to create the vingette look. This still needs matting and layering to make a complete card. I love the effects created this way.

A SWEET TREAT

Posted by Picasa Here is my card for my CUPCAKE challenge this week. They are very popular at the moment so thought I would join in with everyone in the hope that you may enjoy it. I cut the base template from brownish card and embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed stripes folder to make is look like a real cupcake. I then put the three coloured layers through different folders to emboss and covered with Cosmic Shimmer glitter glues. I cut out the cherry and stalk and added some sparkle here too. I just added a few peeloffs to embellish.
Enjoy the sweet treat and indulge yourselves for a change.

Let's Get Embossed

Posted by Picasa Here is my card for this week's Cute Daisy May challenge 'Let's Get Embossed'. I printed the image and embossed with black sparkle powder, coloured with Promarkers and glitter glues then attached to a couple of backgrounds made using inks direct to glossy card and cut the fancy corners with decorative scissors.
I embossed the turquoise mirri card with the 'Distressed Stripes' Cuttlebug folder and the black core-dinations card with 'Diamonds in the Rough' folder then sanded the black so the blue would show through. I tore the edges and matted onto the blue mirri and added the chipboard letters for the word FUN and sanded the edges. You too can have fun if you enter Daisy May's weekly challenges here and you could also win a download of your choice plus a blinkie. You do not have to use Daisy May images to enter just make something cute. Have fun and enjoy.

SWIRLS AND FLOWERS

Posted by Picasa Here is a card made for absolutely no reason at all. The other night I was playing with my new LLB Retro Rose stamps and stamped the hibiscus onto the back of some ordinary card (glossy on the front but it was marked so used the back - remember I was just playing). I coloured the flowers using Promarkers pastel shades and cut them out whilst watching tv. I then added some Cosmic shimmer glitter glues and liked the effect. So off I went and stamped more and did the same. Then I took a simple black card and stamped with Versamark using Sheena's swirly stamps then dusted with Cosmic shimmer powders. I fiddled around with the flowers to get a nice placement and hey ho this is what I ended up with.
I would like to keep it but I think it is going to my local craft shop for display as they sell everything I have used. Hope you like it as much as I do, though the shimmer never comes out as well as in real life on the scan.

Learn, Live and Hope

Posted by PicasaHere is a tag for Frankie's Dragons Dream 'Oriental China Blue' challenge this week - a day early. I stamped a blue pearlized tag using Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen's new Retro Rose clear stamps, the main one being the Hibiscus - actually the national flower of Hawaii, though it is often thought of as being Oriental. Then I added a smaller tag, slightly different blue and the tiny one with the sentiment stamp (from who knows where - bought at NEC), using the Marvy Blending Blox blue inks. I added some Cosmic shimmer glitter glue in pale blue and attached all three tags with a blue and silver brad. I enjoyed this challenge my first for a wee while.
