NEW DT CHALLENGE

Posted by Picasa Here is my first DT card for Crafty Ann's new challenge blog. The topic is CELEBRATION so I have chosen Christmas for my card. Using the lovely beach scene digi image I coloured it with chalks and Promarkers then mounted onto green pearlized card which already has trees embossed on it. I added a few red bows and a Santa sticker - flying over the sea and sky in his sleigh.
You see Santa does arrive in hot climates just as he does here in the cold.
I hope you will join in this great new challenge spot and maybe win a prize or two. You don't have to use Ann's images to play either.
Do join in and celebrate with Ann and the other DT members. Enjoy.

ART

Posted by Picasa'Art' is the challenge over at Lots to Do challenges today so think this card made for my Art Teacher will qualify. Using lots of stamps from a clear set from The Stamp Bug and coloured with chalks, background chalked too, with just a few clear epoxy stickers to highlight words.

Otter in the Wild

Posted by Picasa Here is a lovely little chappie out in the wilds for the Tanda Teaser 'Animals' challenge this week. I love otters, of course we have lots of them up here in the Highlands so this stamp from QVC was a must for me. I used a few trees for the background and added a couple of rocks and chalked and coloured with watercolour pencils.

It's Fairy Time

Posted by Picasa Here is a little fairy card for a friend of the family - her birthday is on Friday 13th. The image was created using my Cuttlebug embossing folder and coloured using chalks. I added the image to a beige and cream card and stamped some flourishes on the corners using the flourish freebie stamp from last week's magazine. Nicola is a very girly girl so I think she will like it.
'Lots to Do Sunday' topic this week is wings so this fits nicely.

Chalked Travel Post Card

Posted by Picasa A couple of challenges covered with this card, Crazy Amigo and Lots to do Sunday both have 'Travel' as their theme. I stamped with black Stazon onto cream card then chalked using various colours over the images to get a soft effect.

Christmas Collage

Posted by PicasaDCM asked for a 'Christmas card in June', so here is the one I made for my own Challenge Blog 'Christmas collage' challenge this week, which I can use for DCM too. I made the background paper in Word then printed it onto cream parchment and coloured with chalks. With a couple of backing papers added the main stamped image also coloured with chalks on gold mirri board. I added various stickers and torn messages to complete the collage.

Diamond Top Dotty Tilda

Posted by Picasa This is my first diamond top card made for the Tilda and Co Dotty challenge and also for my good friend Margaret in Hospital in Leeds. Mags, a couple of years younger than me, much slimmer and all together fitter, had an aneurysm 2 weeks ago and had to have a brain operation. She will be ok, but it just goes to show it can happen to anyone, young, old, fit, slim or otherwise. One in three persons die from this so she was one of the very lucky ones.
For the backgrounds I used some of my new DCWV adhesive papers and a few peel off corners. I stamped Tilda and coloured her with LYra and chalks adding glaze for her wings. I chalked the message too.

Butterflies for Denise

Posted by Picasa This is a card I made for my lovely forum friend Denise in a card swap themed 'Wings'. The pink pearl card is covered with pink flowered vellum attached with a pink rickrack ribbon. I cut out and mounted the arch and stamped with Tapestry stamps and swirls from Dimension Fourth in various coloured inks. I added some chalks and a few little circular epoxy stickers and the enormous pink butterfly which I found at a local cheapie clothes and accessories shop. I also stamped under the vellum with 'Lots of Hugs' and 'Hello with Smiles' from Hero Arts. I do hope she will like it.

Birds and Swirls and Tilda

Posted by Picasa 'Swirls' for Tilda and Co and 'Birds' for My Time to Craft challenges this week and Make It Mondays 'Flowers' all in one card. I stamped the pink pearl card in purple Stazon with a swirl stamp from Dimension Fourth. I ran the silver card through the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder then stamped a Magnolia swirl stamp on the corner piece, again in purple. I stamped and coloured Tilda with flowers in Lyra crayons and Sakura pens and created the background with chalks. The sentiment in silver and purple embellished the card.

Once Upon A Time, Far, Far Away

Posted by Picasa Dans Ma Maison challenge this week was 'Fairy Tale' so I decided to make my own fairy tale castle. I drew the template then cut it out, the top edge being the fold of the card. I stamped the front with the Cracked Earth stamp and chalked in grey and black, cut out the door and lop-sided windows and added a few quotes and a gem for the door handle. Inside the castle the colour changes to pink with sticker fairies and stars, the wizard and the frog who turns into the Prince. You see if you believe - Fairy Tales Do Come True.

Just Because

Posted by Picasa Created this for the 'In the Wild' theme over at Stamp Something. I stamped the Otter, from Personal Impressions, with black Stazon and coloured him with inks and chalks and added the surrounding area with various stamps and chalks. A rounded corner, matted onto a silver dekkle edged card, which the scanner missed off lol, with a sentiment from Hero Arts. I love otters.

Painted Trees

Posted by PicasaThe challenge at Arty Girlz this week was 'Paint' and at DCM use 'Quotes' so here is my effort. Had to photograph it as too much light was reflected from the bubble when I scanned it so apologies for quality. I created the background using acrylic paints brayered onto glossy white card. I stamped with black Stazon the trees from Stamp Addicts, cut into a circle and mounted into the bubble front and attached to the white card. I stamped random tree images on the card, then chalked and edged with green inks. Mounted onto a large green card I added the chalked vellum quote 'Art is man's nature, Nature is God's art'.

My 'Blue' friend

Posted by Picasa Here is my entry for this month's Artistic Stamper challenge 'Animals'. The background paw paper I printed out from My Craft Studio cd and layered it onto a blue card. I added blue ribbon down the side and two photo corners. I stamped the lovely cat face with black Stazon, masked her and stamped with the Cracked Earth stamp also in black. I coloured her eyes and nose with green and pink chalks then sponged blue chalks onto the crackle background and mounted her with a blue ribbon. The reason I call her my 'Blue' cat is we had a blue ( some would call her grey) Korat with exactly the same facial features and her name was Blue - we lost her at 16 a couple of years ago and I still miss her terribly.

Eyelets

Posted by Picasa 'Eyelets' is the topic for Wednesday Stamper and here is one I made earlier using three. The background map paper is from a Joanna Sheen cd and the gold arch was run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder Divine Swirls. I stamped the lady three times and coloured her using Marvy pens and chalks then attached the images with the eyelets and silver ribbon thread with an extra ribbon.

Turquoise Mask

Posted by Picasa Everyone knows by now that this is one of my very favourite stamps from Stamp Addicts, so had to use it for 4 x 4 Friday ' Masks' challenge. In fact you can see it on my blog Gallery header. Stamped in black Stazon, what else, and coloured in Sakura pens and chalks I have cut out the eyes and backed them with a varigated coloured foiled card. I added some Tapestry stamps, rick rack ribbon, threads from the lovely Sammie and a silver and turqoise brad.

Butterfly and Floral Flourishes

Posted by Picasa Whilst I was making the previous card I thought I would also make my arch for Gothic Arches 'Flourishes' challenge using the same stamps. As before from Dimension Fourth and Tapestry and coloured with chalks again.

Dans ma maison il y a un papillon

Posted by Picasa This week I managed to finish my entry for this new challenge site
Dans ma maison (or in my house there is ...) and the challenge was 'Butterfly'. I cut the house from the template provided and stamped with flourish stamps from Dimension Fourth and various Tapestry stamps and a butterfly stamp. I used lots of colours then chalked each image as well. I added the large pink, jewelled and sparkly butterfly that I found in a local shop for the main topic point.
