Another Village Scene

Posted by Picasa Whilst I was making the last card I thought I may as well use the same stamp, from Glenda, to make another similar one, this time a 4 x 4 for the 4 x 4 Friday 'Spray and Splash' challenge. I sprayed and spritzed the Glimmer mists to create the background then stamped with Midnight Blue Stazon. Next I ran the whole image through the snow dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder to get the raised effect. I added some extra direct to paper sponged inks and a touch of glitter then raised on foam onto a white card. I had previously sponged the edges with blue inks.

What is Inside the House?

Posted by Picasa I have tried to cover a few challenges here with this card in order to catch up from my holidays. DCM asked for a 'Different shaped card', 4 x 4 Friday 'Architecture', Dans Ma Maison was 'Metal', Layers of Colours wanted an 'Opening' and Sunday Stampers theme was 'Dogs'. Wow 5 challenges there. First, I stamped out the house and chimney onto copper pearl paper using the cracked Earth stamp from Cornish Heritage, cut out the door and windows and added to the 4 x 4 cream card which I cut to the shape of the house. I chalked the curtains and wallpaper and added window frames. I created the roof using gold metal run through the Cuttlebug and cut out the eaves for added dimension. I opened the door and added a little cat and dog waiting patiently for their owner to come inside.

Turquoise Mask

Posted by Picasa Everyone knows by now that this is one of my very favourite stamps from Stamp Addicts, so had to use it for 4 x 4 Friday ' Masks' challenge. In fact you can see it on my blog Gallery header. Stamped in black Stazon, what else, and coloured in Sakura pens and chalks I have cut out the eyes and backed them with a varigated coloured foiled card. I added some Tapestry stamps, rick rack ribbon, threads from the lovely Sammie and a silver and turqoise brad.

Say It With Flowers

Posted by Picasa The card I share here was made using Joanna's floral cd for 4 x 4 Friday 'Floral' challenge. Printed onto pearlized paper the wonderful pink background is layered onto a pink pearl card. The two floral images, printed on watercolour paper are layered onto silver mirri card, with a sticky ribboned edge and a pink bow.

Flourish and Striped Circus card

Posted by Picasa I added the tag from the previous challenge to this card for the
Theme Thursday 'Stripes' and 4 x 4 Friday 'Circus' challenges. I have edged the green card with pink and green inks direct to paper and added some stamped flourishes with pink ink for the background. The tag and the added striped button sticker complete the look.

Enchanted Family Christmas Time

Posted by Picasa We had a very heavy hailstones storm this afternoon and it looked like 3 inches of snow, so decided to make a Christmas card for 4 x 4 Friday 'Families' challenge and also for Caardvarks 'Tree' challenge. This is a simple background and images from Enchanted Christmas cd by Joanna Sheen which I have pyramaged on silver mirri card and added a silver greeting and corner peeloffs. One less for December. This is one more for Fab's Christmas challenge too.

Oriental Lady

Posted by Picasa I have covered three challenges tonight with this card. 4 x 4 Friday 'Oriental', TGIF 'Faces' and Step outside your Box 'Different colours'. I created the green background using Latte, Terracotta and Stream alcohol inks then stamped the Ginko box, Personal Impressions, in green Stazon. For the orange background I used Latte, Terracotta and Copper inks and overstamped in green with the lady from Personal Impressions. I don't often use green or much orange so they are different colours for me. I added the orange and green sticker slippers for effect and rounded the corners with a corner punch.

King of Hearts and the Joker

Posted by Picasa 'Kings and Queens' was the topic from 4 x 4 Friday, so here is my 4 inch square spring card. The papers and King of Hearts and the Joker playing card are from a recent men's set from QVC simply layered and edged with gold peeloffs. An easy card to make now I have got the hang of spring cards, the scan makes it look off centre but I promise it is central in real life.

Queen of Hearts

Posted by Picasa Here is my Queen of Hearts for the 4 x 4 Friday 'Alice in Wonderland' challenge today. The image was stamped and embossed in gold, then cut out and the arms attached with gold brads (to make them move easily). She is coloured in Marvy pens and the skirt is a piece of black and gold netting.

A Scenic Train card

Posted by Picasa This card covers two challenges today, the 'Toy Box' at Tanda Teaser and 'Watercolours' at 4 x 4 Friday. As trains are usually part of a boy's toy box, (both large and small boys I should add) I started off stamping the train, from Dimension Fourth, with black Stazon and watercoloured it using Sakura metallic pens. I decided then to make it into a scenic card as well, so masked the train and added the trees, rocks, track and grass, again with Art Impressions stamps, coloured in with watercolours. The sky is finished in pastel chalks. I then just matted onto black card on a blue pearlized card.

Wild West Indian

Posted by Picasa I am combning two challenges here Scrummy Stash Cafe 'Monograms 'and
4 x 4 Friday 'Wild West' challenges. Firstly I printed out an old Indian map and attached it to the cream card. I also found the smaller Indian on an American Indian website. The large Indian from Dimension Fourth, is stamped in brown Stazon and coloured in Marvy and Stampin Up pens. I added two feathers and the word 'HOW' in large chipboard letters.

Escape to Peace and Quiet

Posted by Picasa The challenge this week from 4 x 4 Friday was 'Houses' and although the final result is slightly larger I thought you may like to see it anyway. The background was made with three alcohol inks swiped over glossy white card, denim, stonewash and stream, giving the sky and water colours. I then stamped the house and trees, from Stampscapes, in black Stazon over the background. Mounted on silver holographic card onto a blue pearlised card with a message rubon on the matching piece of background card.

Peach Kaleidescope

Posted by Picasa The card I share with you today is a nice bright and cheerful peachy looking one which makes me think of summer - a long way off I know. The image is from a Joanna Sheen CD converted into this pattern using the Kaleidescope Creator programme. It is sitting on a bright yellow card. This is my entry for the 4 x 4 Friday 'Open' challenge.

Fairy Sweet Pea

Posted by PicasaI just love this Fairy Sweet Pea stamp from Joanna Sheen and thought it would make a good entry for this week's 4 x 4 Friday challenge. It is simply stamped onto white card and coloured with Sakura pens with an added Birthday Wishes message.

Mr Piano Man - Number 1

Posted by Picasa Here is 'Mr Piano Man' number one and the card above, the shadow, is number 2.
These two cards cover a few challenges today, DCM Extra 'New to Me', DCM 'Me and My Shadow', Scrummy Stash Cafe's 'Brad Pitt' (use your brads) and 4 x 4 Friday's 'Music' challenge.
The main image is a super large stamp from Stamps Happen, stamped in black Stazon and embossed with gold embossing powder (the lines are so fine not easy to tell on screen), then coloured in with my new non smear pastel chalks. These are great as you don't even have to wash or clean the brush between colours. The image was attached to gold mirri card on a cream pearlescent with brads and a rubon Sing and peeloff Happy Birthday finished it off.

Rick Rack Santa

Posted by Picasa Here we have a triple whammy, made for my alcohol inks course, Caardvarks 'Rick Rack' challenge and 4 x 4 Friday 'Santa' challenge. The background was made using the swoosh technique with three alcohol inks, and the Santa was stamped on top in black Stazon. I added the silver peeloffs and the pink rick rack to the pink card for embellishment.
