Just a couple of Christmas cards made using the new cd. The top Santa card, design created by me on screen, is printed out on glossy card with a vellum printed wrap in the same design. I just added a red bow for embellishment.
This was not an easy challenge for me Wednesday Stamper, as I don't have anything remotely Western in my stamp collection. However, I did find this Lone Ranger and Silver image on the Joanna Sheen Hollywood CD. The only part stamped and aged in distress inks is the familiar cry of 'HiYo Silver' that the Lone Ranger always used to say, for those of you who remember him. Not my best effort I'm sorry to say but I did have a go.
As bonfire night is fast approaching Papertake Weekly's challenge is 'Winter Warmers'. However, I have gone with Christmas for my warm card as I still need to get more Christmas cards made. I layered torn white Christmas Carol paper and torn vellum silver stars onto a cream pearlescent card. I stamped the fireplace in black Stazon, what else do I ever use? and coloured it with Marvy pens and metallic rub ons. The added sparkle is from Stickles glitter glues again as usual. I cut it out and mounted it on foam pads for extra dimension. I added a silver stickon ribbon to finish it off. Yeah another card done.
Today I am honoured and delighted to be the first Guest Designer for Arty Girlz Challenge. I decided that as my forum name is Rainbow Lady I should try to incorporate that into my challenge, hence the title 'Rainbow Colours'.
Yet more of my Halloween masks using the Feathered Mask stamp from Stamp Addicts for the TMTA challenge today. Stamped in black Stazon and coloured with sponged inks and Sakura pens to add sparkle. The spider and bat are from a well known supermarket for the embellishment. I must stop using this stamp now - I promise I will try!!
The latest challenge from Gothic Arches was to make a Halloween/Spooky card. I think mine is a nice spooky black cat!! Simply an image from Joanna Sheen's Cardmakers Year CD layered onto pumpkin backing paper from the same cd with an added black fuzzy felt cat. Meeow!!
Tha challenge from Saturday Stamper was to make a Hallowe'en card. Here is another variation on a mask theme, the Feathered mask stamped in black Stazon and coloured with Sakura pens and Stickles glitter for the sparkle. The background is sponged inks and the spider I found in a local supermarket which shall remain nameless.
The challenge here was to make an animal themed card using only red and black. Well, that shouted dragon to me, so here it is. The background is simply stamped with lots of Chinese writing, dragons, flowers and symbols in black Stazon. I stamped again in black Stazon the large dragon onto a circle of red card, then highlighted sections with a red Sakura glitter pen. Not too visible on the scan but does add some sparkle. I then edged the circle with black ink and suspended it on black ribbon from the top of the card. I also stamped on the back in case it swings the wrong way round, if you see what I mean!!
The dare for today from Daring Cardmakers is to make a card using ribbons. Well, I just made this one last night for no reason at all - just another Christmas card, so thought I could use it for this dare. I layered red card, which is stamped with various holiday messages in different colours, onto gold and red spotted paper, edge cut with decorative scissors . I stamped the large holly stamp, from Personal Impressions, onto white glossy card and coloured it with Marvy pens and used Stickles and green glitter glue for the sparkle, and cut it out and mounted it on foam tape. I added the gold ribbon and sentiment for embellishment.
For Tuesday's DCM little extra we were given a template to work to. I decided to make another Christmas card using for the background Joanna Sheen backing paper torn and edged with pink ink. I added a pink card on foam with nine circles each containing a Christmas epoxy sticker and added the sentiment on silver card. Different colours for Christmas but nice just for a change.
Arty Girlz challenge this week was 'Circles, Dots and Spots' so I made use of one of my Cuttlebug embossing folders for the background, cut on red metal plating. The puppy named 'Spot' by my husband, is decoupaged and raised on foam. Red ribbon and the Christmas Wishes message are used as embellishments.
A different challenge today was to make a card using only the basic things you find in the house. You were allowed one printed image and one stamp but I decided not to use either. I cut the cake and recipe from a magazine, with scissors, not a paper cutter (we never had them years ago and had to make do with manual cutting - hence not cut too straight). I added a packet of coffee, sugar and a chocolate wrapper. The hot chocolate, I admit I had to scan, to make small enough to put on the card - sorry about that. It would have overpowered the card otherwise.
The challenge from Papertake Weekly was to create something 'Spooky' so I thought this strange looking bat mask would fit the bill - nice spooky I think.
Well, this is something different for me as I had to do 'Violet Shrinkies' for a swap. The purple irridescent paper was layered with lovely torn sun and moons paper. I attached the mask and the moonchild which I had preshrunk and coloured with my favourite Sakura pens. Message and little purple embellishments and pink ribbons complete these atc's.
The theme for Gothic Arches yesterday was 'Hands' so I thought I would do something a little bit different. The image, from the computer, was simply placed onto the background arch of pink roses. The caption sticker reads 'To plant a seed is a hopeful deed'. Very true I think, as any green fingered person would tell you.
Saturday Stamper challenge this week was 'Winter' so I thought this would just fit the bill. The background on the white glossy card was made with sponged metallic and lustre rubons and inks using a colourbox tool. The images were then stamped in black Stazon using the Stampscapes and Art Impressions stamps. A few hints of colour were also added and the whole card is covered with clear acetate which has blue snowflakes dotted around. They don't show too clearly on the scan, sorry.
The dare today from DCM was 'Circle of Friends' so here is mine.
Gothic Arches theme this week was 'Party' so here is my bright pink Party Arch. With lots of epoxy stickers and rubons, a laser words celebrate, and a real mask scaled down and printed out, that completes this challenge. Wishing you a Happy Birthday and a great party Dymphie. 
Wednesday Stamper challenge today was 'Children'. Well, I don't really do cards for children very much, so this was not an easy one for me. However, I stamped the background with a very large stamp covered in words and holly and baubles. I used different colours for each section applying the ink with Dauber Duos. The image is one of Meryle's matted on gold mirri card with a red ribbon added.
The challenge for TMTA was Moon and Stars so here are mine. The moon and stars background paper was shaped with a corner punch. The image of the lady in the moon was stamped in black Stazon onto acetate and coloured in stardust pens and Art Institute glitter and attached to the atc. I added the Dream epoxy sticker as the moon and stars always make me think of dreamy things.
The DCM midweek challenge was 'O Christmas Tree' so here are mine. The gold card was already embossed with the trees so I simply added the Merry Christmas frame and two sparkly wooden trees.
Made these two atc's for a 'Nature' swap. I stamped the background with green trees and grass, in green Stazon, then added the animals and flowers and acorn on one, and the birds from a Joanna Sheen cd on the other, then I attached the titles. All these additions are rubons and stickers. Just for a change I used a rounded corner punch.
The challenge today for Arty Girlz was 'Stitches'. Well, I am not good at sewing so mine is using faux stitches on a pink card. The chipboard H is layered over pink stripy paper with a couple of embellishments also in chipboard. Part of a Lisa Bearnson kit, I made one similar for my daughter-in-law Helen's birthday earlier this year. I made two at the same time so this one comes in useful now.
Another card made from Joanna's 'Dancing with Shadows' cd for a music card swap. Just the images stacked on foam onto a gold card with gold peel offs.
