Alexander my Scottish Meercat

My challenge today over on my other blog is Scottish themed... in honour of the country that so generously adopted my husband and myself.  Last night was Burns night which is celebrated by eating the traditional dish of haggis, neeps and tatties.... ugh sorry not for me Scotland... I prefer  plain old English food.
My little Alexander meercat is a stamp from Hazel at Tabby Kat and I so love him. I coloured him with Copics and Promarkers and popped him into a little scene after stamping the trees, bushes and grass and again coloured them in.  The verse is from the same set of stamps.  I cut off the corner and added some tartan paper underneath... see it matched his sash very well.

Autumn Flowers

My challenge today is Autumn/Fall flowers and is sponsored by The Glitter Babe....Stef gave the DT some lovely images to work with and this was the one I chose.
I printed the image onto white card and coloured using Copics and Spectrum Noir pens.  I then added distress inks round the sides with a brush to get some shading.  I mounted the cut out vase onto some gorgeous copper mirri card.... one of my free gifts from Craft UK at the Trade Show... this is so bright that whichever way I tried to get a picture reflections were visible - sorry. I added some flowers again distressed, with a couple of brad centres.... these were a gift from my friend Wendy otherwise known as Pixiehouse. The sentiment from Glitter Babe I printed out and also distressed.  I added a couple of orange jewels,,, given to me by Aarti J at the Trade Show.

Christmas Post Card

This week for my 'Faux Postage' challenge over on my challenge blog, the lovely and very generous Glenda from Chocolate Baroque gave the DT some Faux Postage templates and stamps to work with and is also giving some super stamp sets as the prize for the lucky winner.
So here is my card.... I stamped the  house from Glenda's Winter stamp set and coloured using Copics and added some icy sparkles.  I stamped the Postcard, First Class and the franked stamp from the Mail Art Set.....note the date on the franking mark.... I am soo ahead of myself here lol as it reads 21.12. 022...... post early for Christmas....
The template to create the stamped look works with acetate and a pre printed sheet... well worth getting if you like postage art.
The background is from Glenda's Artylicious Season's Greetings cd printed onto glossy card.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I added some polka dot ribbon stapled in silver and mounted onto my scalloped card.  I edged the card to match the colouring of the sky in the main image which I coloured dusted.

Pets

Stampndoodle are one of my favourite digi image companies... they do some superb images and they are sponsoring my challenge this week... topic being Pets.
For my DT card this week I used Craft Artist to create the main beach scene..... adding some extra colour with Copics and Promarkers. Yes Craft Artist yet again to the rescue.
The two dogs are images from Stampndoodle kindly given to the DT to use for the challenge.  As soon as I saw them I knew I wanted them running on the sand.... strange really as there was a cat image and I am very much a cat person..... but these two just appealed to me today.  They are coloured again with Promarkers and decoupaged onto the scene.  The message reads 'Summer Breeze, Make me feel fine'....... part of a song - very appropriate for the scene I think.
I hope you will enjoy this weeks challenge... the thought of winning images from Stampndoodle would certainly make me enter.

From far away a friendly light

My challenge this week on my Challenge Blog is 'I am sailing'... yes another song title.
I loved this stamp and had to have it as I have a friend who lives in a wonderful Lighthouse at Dunnet Head in the North of Scotland - the stamp reminds me of how great a job the Lighthouses do.
The background was created using Mica Sprays.... greens and blues mixed then punched the edge with the Bubbles punch and distressed underneath the holes on the inside of the card. .  I stamped the image and coloured using a mix of Promarkers, Copics and... pens.  I cut the edges with my trimmer wavy blade and distressed the edges with Distress Inks.  I mounted the image onto the card and added a little felt flower I found in my stash.
The blue and turquoise ribbons are from the Ribbonbox.

MIMOSA LIGHTS THE WAY

I know, I know it is spring and here is a Christmas card - but never too early to start making them in my opinion. 
This card is for my challenge this week - the topic being another song - 'Lady in Red'.
As I am still away sunning myself I did not have any other suitable lady stamps with me... this new one I bought at NEC and it came over in the suitcase.... so that is why I decided to make my 'Lady in Red' a Christmas lady.
Even though I don't normally do cute I loved these Bild Malarna stamps as soon as I saw them and just had to buy Mimosa lighting the way with her lamp.
She was stamped onto white card and coloured with Copics - yes, I did bring them with me - then I added some silver glitter for the snow effect. I mounted her onto a QVC  gorgeous red card and added the Winter Blessings stamp and some flowers, holly and another little red bow.... yes I am hooked on these too.

Springtime

Here we have a combination of Craft Artist cd, a Chi Chi Memories decoupaged digi image - coloured with Copics and a Tim Holtz rosette made with vellum to finish it off.  I also added a few lovely Prima flowers to add to the decoration and texture.

A flower for my best friend

My challenge this week is 'Best Friends' so here is my DT card with a flower for my best friend. The background I created in Craft Artist my new cd.  The cute elephants are digi images from Chi Chi Memories who sponsor my challenge this week.  I imported them into Craft Artist, then printed out another set which I coloured with Copics and Promarkers.  I decoupaged them over the base card and added some sparkly flowers with gem centres - one slipped in the scanner sorry lol.

Mardi Gras

My new challenge today is 'Mardi Gras' which is celebrated on the 8th March. so here is my DT creation for this week.  I don't know if you know or not but I collect masks..... quelle surprise (I have lots of stamps too lol) ....... and if you come into our house you will see lots of them hanging on the wall in the entrance hall.  This is one I found in a second hand charity shop in Bermuda called The Barn.  It makes money for the Hospital there so as my husband works there I try to shop there often and was lucky last time to find this little treasure.  There was a vague pattern on it but all the paintwork had vanished or was very scratched so I re-painted it using some Suze Weinberg glitter paints on top of Promarkers and Copics. I added lots of gems and sparkles and new ribbons and hey presto I had another mask to add to my collection..... just need Geoff to put it on the wall now.

It's Martini Time

Here is my DT card for my 'Use a cd' challenge this week which is sponsored by Amber Inks.  They gave the DT some lovely digis to work with - the martini glass being the one I chose for this card.  The background is from My Craft Studio... 'Womens Images' .  I coloured with Copics and decoupaged the glasses over the top.  The wine bottle and glass are stickers from a wine set from QVC.

A Winter Sketch

Here is my card for this week's 'Winter Sketch' challenge over on my
Challenge Blog.  The lovely image is from Chi Chi Memories who are sponsoring this challenge - my DT were given some lovely images to work with and I chose this little person......and coloured her with Copics..... yes she is a she..... I have decided.
The background paper is I think from Enchanted Dreams cd..... not too sure really as printed it out before Christmas..... I added a purple die cut rectangle for my snowlady to sit on and added some little white fluffy snowballs and some flowers with gem centres.  The edging is from Sue Smith and the label from Anna Griffin.

TICK TOCK

Here is my card for my challenge this week the topic being TICK TOCK.  The background paper is from a Steampunk set from Graphic 45, they produce some lovely papers.  I bought them last week in Canada and love them. The stamps used on the card are from Tattered Angels Glimmer Screen Stamps again purchased in Canada.  They are stamped in black and coloured with Antique Linen Distress inks and Copics.  I added some ribbon bows and a couple of little embellishments found in my box here.
I created this card during Hurricane Igor, a frightening experience I may add. Check the early photos below on the blog and the net for more graphic ones.

A jolly happy soul

Here is my entry for this week's Bah Humbug challenge 'Less is More'.
Simply stamped, from Hampton Art Stamps,  and coloured using Copics and Sakura pens with some nice chomped corners (not too visible on the scan sorry should have put a black background on the scanner) . Plain and simple.

New design easel card

Crafty  Ann asked us to produce a new and different shaped easel card this week so here is my DT card.   I really don't like making shaped cards for DT cards as they never come out on a photo as well as they do when you scan them but hey ho this is the best I can make it come out..... I cut out the strange shaped diamond card after playing around with some paper and quite liked the result.  The background card is from Kanban and as you see the light is reflected off the wonderful mirri swirls.  I added some glitter sparkle paper to the bottom of the card and added the cut out corners from the diamond shape to the corners.  The image is from Crafty Ann manipulated in MCS to make the tower of cupcakes , embossed with clear sparkle meltdust and coloured using Copics and Promarkers. I added the flowers from Prima to the base of the card.

Father Christmas

Here is my entry for this weeks Bah Humbug Christmas challenge 'Father Christmas'.  I decided to make a tree ornament as I found a box of them floating around my craft room.  I coloured him using Copics and a combination of white Perfect Pearls and Stickles Glitter Glue. Hope you like him.

Music Inspires

Here is my DT card for Crafty Ann's Embossing challenge this week.  I printed the digi image, from Ann herself, onto meltdust vellum, then embossed using black Meltdust.  I coloured it from behind using Copics and then shaded on the top side again with the same pens.  I added the little flower and gem centre plus the Inspire chipboard word which is the same colour as the guitar.

Football challenge - yes really

Crafty Ann has asked for a football related colour scheme, the colour of your National flag,  this week so here is my DT card.  Firstly football is certainly not my game of choice - wrong shaped ball - secondly I do not support England as they are useless in my opinion. So... this started off as Blue and White for Scotland until I realised that they are not in the World Cup this time so I opted for Red White and Blue for New Zealand. Yes - their flag is not Black and White as some people may think. I lived there for some years and am a huge supporter of the country - hence my choice.
So to begin I covered a square card with blue and white flowery vellum and scored a few lines with my Martha Stewart scoring board, chomped the corners (yes again Beryl!) and distressed the edges. I cut two mats using my new Tim Holtz Alterations die - one out of blue glitter card, the other plain white.  I sponged Broken China Distress inks over the white card and stamped the red sentiments, then covered with blue glitter film and mounted over the vellum. I printed out the lovely mask image from Ann, coloured with Copics and added some gems and pearls.  A couple more pearls at the side to complete the card.
Next time Ann please have Rugby as your theme....... lol then I really can do black and white.....All Blacks forever.....

FROG HAS A BATH

Here is my card for the Cowgirl's Sunday Stamping challenge the topic this week being 'Spring'.  I thought the little frog having a bath was just right for this challenge.  I stamped, the stamp from Dovecraft Pepper and Friends, and coloured using Copics and Promarkers, matted onto two Nestability circles and added corners, gems and velvet and chiffon ribbons for effect. The base card is from my Fancy Pants  stash.

Floral Delight

The challenge topic this week over at Crafty Ann is 'Own Choice' so here is my Floral Delight DT card.  I printed out the main image from Ann onto her pink heart background paper then coloured with Copics. I mounted this onto a purple mirri card after edging with a Martha Stewart punch.  I then covered the front with the wonderful self adhesive glitter acetate from Card Creations Plus to get the glittery effect.  The butterfly is from Wings and Flowers cd, again coloured with Copics with a couple of ribbons , flowers and gems for embellishment.

BABY TALK - CD Sunday

Here is my DT card for this week's CD Sunday challenge 'Baby Talk'.  Now as most folks know 'I don't do babies' so this was not easy for me. My lovely little girl is talking to her 'baby doll' - I think she is showing her how to craft as she is cutting paper - the image from Joanna Sheen 'Dancing With Shadows' cd which I have not used for ages. So thanks Wendy for making me get it out and use it.  I printed the baby doll background paper and layered with  torn edges onto a pink card. I printed the large image and added some black Copic ink to get some texture on her dress.  A couple of pink flowers and a chipboard and glittered message complete the card.
