Circular Feathered Silhouette

I have covered three challenges with this one tonight, Wednesday Stamper asked for 'Silhouettes', DCM 'Circles' and TGIF 'Feathers'. The large and red circles were cut using my new Xcut circle cutter (yipee it works so well) then run through the Divine Swirl Embossing Folder. The silver circle is a die cut again Cuttlebugged and for the small circle I used a small circle punch again Cuttlebugged. I stamped the silhouette branches and the fairy from Caroline's Silhouette set then added Sakura silver glaze pen to the wings, leaves and the bottom of the circle. I added the red feather and edged with a Pentouch silver pen.

Masked Ball

TGIF challenge this week is 'Masked Ball' - perfect for me as I love masks of any kind and have quite a few hanging around the house. This stamp is from Stamp Addicts, one of my very favourites of all times. Stamped onto mauve card using purple Stazon and embellished with Stickles and gems. The background of darker purple card was stamped all over with another mask stamp, the edges highlighted with glitter glues. Lovely challenge for me, wouldn't it be lovely to go to a masked ball in Vienna. Dream on.

Houses on the Green By Starlight

My first challenge of this year goes to TGIF with their theme of 'Houses'.

I made this using a new set of Country stamps from the very talented Sheena Douglass, stamping in black Stazon. The colouring was done using direct to card inks on sponge and Lyra watercolours.

Hawaiian Hula Dancing Doll

I wanted to create something different for a card swap with the Embossing theme but I ended up also covering a few challenges with this creation today, first Saturday Workout 'Spotlight', Step Outside Your Box 'Watercolours', TGIF 'Quotes' and DCM 'Journalling Spot'. Firs,t I created the background using an MCS cd with various Hibiscus flowers and colours on a varigated and muted background. I added to this torn background paper a green card run through the Textile Cuttlebug embossing folder, then added a piece of acetate embossed with the Swirls folder. These were attached with sticky matching ribbon. I stamped and embossed in silver, the Hula dancing doll from Limited Edition Rubber Stamps, and painted her using watercolours and Cosmic shimmers, her arms and legs attached with silver brads and mounted on foam tape. The quote reads 'Wake up every morning with the thought that something Wonderful is about to happen,' and I added Summer and the domed acetate spotlighted 'Follow Your Dreams'. In case you do not know the Hibiscus flower is the State flower of Hawaii where Hula dancers can be seen performing each evening around the sunset hour. I hope my partner will be happy with this card.

Towers and Columns

Two challenges here 'Towers and Columns' for TMTA and 'Travel' for TGIF.

I stamped the atc with a map of the world stamp from Inkadinkadoo with red Stazon and edged with the same ink. I then added the leaning Tower of Pisa image from Crafty Image Emporium cd. Note the images are not on straight either - on purpose lol

Tilda Remembers

Yet another new stamp from Joanna arrived so I just had to use it didn't I? This is for TGIF 'Acetate', Sunday Stampers 'Words' and Papertake Weekly 'Elegant Embossing' challenges. The striped background paper was made using Starburst Stains and the scrunch technique and layered onto a blue pearl card.

I added some sticky ribbons and a piece of acetate which I ran through a Cuttlebug embossing folder and inked with pink ink. Tilda is stamped and coloured in Sakura pens and chalks with distressed edges. I added the acetate word with a gold brad.

Tutti Frutti Fruit

This is my entry for My Time to Craft 'Tutti Frutti Fruit' and TGIF 'Monogram' challenges. The background paper is from Chris Warner's 'With Men in Mind' cd and the wonderful image is a Stamps Happen stamp called White Wine Bottles. This image is so very complicated it took me a while to paint it with Cosmic Shimmers, there are lots of tiny pieces to paint. I simply layered it on gold mirri card and added the sentiment. Sorry about the shadow from the raised C when it was scanned.

Blue Green Stampboard Butterfly

Another Stampboard creation for TGIF 'Blue and Green' and DCM 'Butterfly' challenges. The background was created using alcohol inks applied with the applicator then overstamped in blue with butterflies and sentiments. Silver peeloffs and edged in green inks to embellish. The main image was stamped on alcohol inked, in the same colours, stampboard and triple embossed leaving the bubbles to show rather than being smooth.

Oriental Lady

I have covered three challenges tonight with this card. 4 x 4 Friday 'Oriental', TGIF 'Faces' and Step outside your Box 'Different colours'. I created the green background using Latte, Terracotta and Stream alcohol inks then stamped the Ginko box, Personal Impressions, in green Stazon. For the orange background I used Latte, Terracotta and Copper inks and overstamped in green with the lady from Personal Impressions. I don't often use green or much orange so they are different colours for me. I added the orange and green sticker slippers for effect and rounded the corners with a corner punch.

Butterfly Blue and Dragonfly Dreams

'Butterfly Blue' was the challenge from Tanda Teaser and 'Tags' for TGIF so I combined the two with this creation. The blue pearlescent card was background stamped with butterflies, dragonflies and sentiments then coloured with chalks. The main image of waterlilies and dragonflies, a stamp from Jayne Nesterenko, was stamped on acetate and coloured with H2Os and glittered with Art Institute glitters. The two tags covered in blue waterlily and butterfly paper with added sentiments and ribbons finished the card off.

Ribbons

The challenge at TGIF this week was 'Ribbons' so here is my entry. The image was stamped and chalked then layered onto a stamped flourish peice of card and matted on gold mirri card. The torn backing paper is Joanna Sheen's Paisley pad which I love. Ribbons, peeloffs and rubons complete the look.

Purple and Gold Ladies

Here is my entry for TGIF 'Swirls' and Mixed Media Monday 'Purple and Gold' challenges. Purple never difficult for me as you all know it is my favourite colour. The background purple map is from a Joanna Sheen cd and the gold arch was Divinely swirled through the Cuttlebug. The three ladies, Hero Arts, were stamped and coloured with Cosmic Mica Powders (my favourite colouring medium of the moment) one attached with a gold brad the other two strung on purple cord through purple eyelets set with Crop-a-dile. Pink bow added for effect to pick out the purple pink of the dresses.

Golden Fish

Some of you may have seen this one before as I made it for my brother-in-law's birthday earlier this year, but I like it so thought I could use it again, hope you don't mind. It is for the TGIF 'Men' challenge. The stamps are from Sara's Crafters Companian Oriental cd set, simply stamped and coloured in with pens and chalks and decoupaged.

Early Easter Card

Here is my combined effort for DCM 'Plastic' and TGIF 'Backgrounds' challenges. First of all I bought my husband a new shirt (I do things like that)and removed all the plastic bits and papers and found the strip with slots in. Ha, ha, I thought I can use this so - yellow ribbon threaded through it for the left hand edging. I made the yellow background using alcohol inks caramel and butterscotch and over stamped with the egg, the bees, butterflies and sentiment in black Stazon of course. I matted this onto copper mirri then over yellow flowered torn paper on a cream pearlized card. I stamped some more sentiments and stamped the egg on the flowered paper and overlayed it on the other egg. A bee and butterfly were also decoupaged. I added some Sakura metallic gold pen and clear Stickles glitter glue and there we are - finished.

Flower Fairy Child

I had to make a birthday card for a friend's daughter and the challenge at TGIF was 'Children' so here it is. Not my best subject as I am not a very child friendly person. The background of torn gold Happy Birthday vellum was then layered with gold card and the lovely fairy image from Crafty Image Emporium cd, a new one to me. I just added Nicola's name and that was that. This week the challenge at TGIF is 'Names' so thought I could use this one for that challenge as well.

From the Heart

Two challenges covered here - TGIF 'Hearts' and DCM 'Red and White'. The background cream card is covered with more of that gorgeous material bought at NEC which is very flimsy and glittery. The white heart is simply cut and stamped with the message and edged in red Stazon. The large red heart was created using Alcohol inks with two smaller red Rubbadubbadoo stamped hearts embossed in white powder. Two additional red velvet hearts complete the look. I have added this to the Caardvarks 'Valentine' challenge too as I think it is appropriate.

Woman in Repose

Here is my entry for TGIF 'Frames' challenge and also Created by Hand 'Black and White' challenge. This lovely stamp is a new one, stamped in black Stazon onto white card and matted and layered with black, white and circle patterned papers. The corners are rounded too. I did not think any other embellishment was needed except the Cherish rubon. I am also adding this to the Black and White challenge from Sunday Stampers which is a new challenge site I have just found.

Two Gypsy Tarot Readers

Whilst living in Bermuda my husband and I were members of an Amateur Theatrical Group. One of the presentations we gave was a Tarot Reading for a large Insurance Company. My friend Carol and I could actually read the cards (most of the cast just acted - Geoff included), so I incorporated a collaged picture of the two of us sitting at the table with the cards in the Hamilton Princess Hotel (I'm the one at the back with glasses). The background I made from my own set of Tarot cards and put the arch together using My Craft Studio CD for Gothic Arches 'Gypsy' challenge today. Looking at this photo really takes me back in time. This card will also fit the 'Photo' challenge from Thank God It's Friday.

New Deer Gothic Arch

Wednesday Stamper 'Gothic Arch' challenge set me thinking today, and I came up with a triple whammy as I incorporated it with Thank God It's Friday 'Animals' challenge and DCM 'New' dare. The scene, using Stampscapes, Art Impressions and an unknown deer stamp shows a new roe deer with his Mum in the forest. Part of the scene is stamped in Stazon onto the white arch and the trees and the moon are stamped and overlayed onto acetate, which was attached with the new invisible acrylic foam pads. I watercoloured the scene with Stampin Up brush pens.
