THE STRANGE LADY NEXT DOOR

Here are the green shoes belonging to the strange lady next door - her name being Mrs Sito and the Private sign, sorry blurred, on her door. Had to take in rush or she may have seen me lol
Geoff discovered that she has lived in the Hotel for many years since losing her husband.  One day she was sittin , on a chair covered in plastic, outside the lift eating her dinner, in green nightie with curlers in her hair, - I kid you not. How sad is that.

Thank you to a friend

Posted by PicasaHere is my Metal DT card for Crafty Ann's challenge this week.  The gold and silver are sheets of metal embossed using the Cuttlebug embossing folders You and Thanks. The lovely Iris image, one of Ann;s digital images, I printed and coloured using Copic pens and Spica glitter pens.  I added some ribbon, the message sticker and a flower covered in Stickles gold gltiter glues and glitter.  I love this image. Do pop over to Ann's blog and see her challenges - enter and you may win some images of your choice.

Winter Storm damage in Bermuda

Posted by PicasaHere is the photo of the big cedar tree blown down on South Shore by the wind on Saturday 23rd January. Some winter storms are worse than hurricanes and this one certainly was with  heavy rain, very high seas outside and inside the reef and hurricane force winds.  This old cedar tree had been standing proudly  for years before being demolished in a flash.  Cedar is very valuable in Bermuda hence the men rushing to cut it down so very quickly - on a Saturday too!!!.

Friendship is the essence of life

Posted by PicasaHere is my DT card for Crafty Ann's challenge this week which is Embossing.  The lilac background paper is one of Ann's star papers run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots.  Over this I placed the lovely frame embossed on blue mirri card - the frame from Crafts Too.  I popped Ann's digital image of the  lily  into MCS added a pink background and a pink frame and printed it out.  The white highlights show up really well in real life.  I added a few pink gems and pink and blue glittered ribbon and a couple of sentiments printed on my Design Runner, which I love.  Do go to Ann's blog , check the DT entries and enter her challenges - you may just win a prize.

TEATIME

Posted by PicasaHere is my Teatime card for my challenge this week.  The stamps are from this month's Dimension Fourth Project club - I love the teacosy on the teapot and the cupcakes are so lifelike and yummy looking.  They were coloured with a mix of Promarkers and Copics then glittered with Cosmic Shimmer glitter glues - not too visible on the scan.  The gingham, yee haa, background  paper and sentiment are from a QVC kit.  A simple but effective card I think with the brown card on the front opening as well as the white card - handy for another message.
Do join in my challenges if you get a chance I am sure you will enjoy it.

Winter Wonderland

Posted by PicasaHere is my first Christmas card for 2010 and entry to Bah Humbug 'recycling' challenge. The main background card was from the front of one of our cards last year - I only throw away the year after not the same year lol.  I oversprayed using blue and green Glimmer Mists to add to the already glittered trees and rounded the corners.  I stamped the cottage and bridge scene, coloured using watercolour pencils then did the sky and grass with the same Glimmer Mists. The whole card was then oversprayed again with glitter and I added the Winter Wonderland see through sticker.
Great new challenge blog ladies well done.

A recycling challenge

Posted by Picasa Over Christmas we all seem to accumulate lots of packaging and boxes so I thought this week my challenge would be RECYCLING.  I had some lovely purple (of course) socks bought which were in little cupcakes stuck into this wrapper and I thought hmmm I can use this in my cardmaking rather than throw it away.  So here is the result.  I simply created a gradient background paper in MCS then stamped with purple Stazon using some Asian characters from Hero Arts.   I added a couple of Asian sticker ladies and a good luck sticker which I coloured with the Stazon.  As you may be able to see from the bottom of the card it will stand up by folding the bottom back (if you see what I mean).
If you have not entered my challenges before please check out my challenge blog for more details.

CRAFTY ANN'S NEW CHALLENGE DT CARD

Posted by PicasaMy DT card for Crafty Ann's NEW challenge this week has a few new bits. The Xyron Design Runner and the new Butterflies Cuttlebug embossing folder are two of them and the Copics are new too. Firstly I took the bird on the branch digi image, one of Ann's of course and popped it into MCS then added the graduated background in blues and turquoise to create the shaded effect.  I then coloured with my new Copic pens, love them, and decoupaged the flowers.  I ran some of the same paper through the new embossing folder , tore the top edge and added some blue patterned mirri card to the left hand side.  I created the wording using the Xyron and added to the card. Do feel free to join in the challenges - you may just be lucky and win a prize.

Happy New Year

Wishing each one of you a very Happy, Peaceful and Healthy New Year with many thanks for all your continuing support.
Love and hugs xx
