Our Silver Wedding

Good morning all.... well, I am always going on about how the time is flying by this year but today I am moaning about the years flying by- just for a change.

On 29th October it will be our (Geoff and mine) Silver Wedding... yes 25 years have gone by in a flash... we have done so much, travelled the world and lived in three countries... and we have not stopped yet.
We got married on Wednesday, half term at the college where we both taught, went to London till Friday and had to be back in York for Saturday as Geoff was playing rugby.
See pictures above.... one thinner lady and a much darker haired man lol

So my challenge this week over on my challenge blog is to create something SILVER .. with anniversary in the theme as well.....

Instead of making a card I made this little plaque....I painted the frame with silver Eco Green paints which turned out lovely and glittery.  I made the rose using one of Sarah Lawrence, Crafty Notions,  moulds and clay and painted it with the same paints and attached to the frame. I die cut some little leaves using silver glitter paper and attached them to the frame in the corners.
C and G black peel off letters and 1986 the year we were married and of course I had to add some purple gems... I wore a purple dress (not the done thing in those days but can you imagine me in white.... ugh never) and grey/silver shoes, glasses and bag and had pink and purple flowers in my hair and for my bouquet.
So there we have it 25 years later and still going strong, thank our Lord.
Have fun doing the challenge.. you could win a surprise blog candy this week.

Happy St Patrick's Day ....

Posted by Picasaand Happy Birthday to me....... my challenge this week is to make something suitable for ST Patrick's Day so here is my DT creation.
This  time I decided to do a small scrapbook page..... using elements from my new Craft Artist programme and a photo of me, blurred and swirled in Picasa, and attached to the page. I just added the little moulded corner, from Crafty Notions,  which is painted with copper glitter paint.
Certainly something different for me.... pop over to my challenge blog and give the challenge a go yourself. And remember to have fun whatever you create.

WOYWW

Here are a few bits I have been working on this week. I have been playing with Angelina fancy fibres and fancy film and created the stunning background piece by adding some gold metal flakes to the mix of fibres and films. The two masks and the heart are also from the films and fibres.  The other creations were made using mica pieces with embossing powder sandwiched between the two pieces heated then overstamped with Stazon. In real life they do look super even though I say so myself.... don't want to give these away lol. A technique I learned from Sarah Lawrence of Crafty Notions - thanks Sarah.
Do check out the wonderful Julia's WOYWW blog for more interesting photos of crafters workdesks.
Hope you like - at least it does not look too messy today lol and I blogged it direct from my android again.... yes it works well.

WOYWW - Embellishments

This is the first entry I have made to WOYWW - but now I have my new Tab I can post direct from the camera so here goes.
I have, as you can see, been making lots of different embellishments this weekend. Roses, now coming out of my ears as I love them so much, from a design my lovely friend Frankie passed to me, using both grungeboard and sticky back canvas, lovely moulding clay and moulds from Sarah at Crafty Notions and a frame I bought from Glenda before she closed down her shop.
I have been painting them with a mixture of paints some from Tim Holtz and Suze Weinberg and some others I found lurking in my paintbox.  There is just one heart left to paint on the right hand side of the picture and the roses at the front.
Maybe sometime soon I will get round to making a card..... he he.
I hope you like them - I am really pleased with them as not done anything like this before.

A Colourful Mardi Gras Postcard

Posted by PicasaOOh I love this 'Mardi Gras' theme from Sunday Postcard Art, the 'Bright Colour' theme from Crazy Amigo and the 'Shiny' theme from Wednesday Stamper. First I stamped onto glossy card using Teal Stazon with another mask stamp, this time from Dimension Fourth. I cut out the eyes and added two gold shiny cuttlebugged eyes for the top mask and straight gold shiny eyes for the bottom mask. Then the fun started. I dabbed pink and blue inks all over the card with a sponge, not cut and dry as this would have made it too smooth, then I sprayed with Delphinium and Fireburst Blue from Crafty Notions Colour Sprays. I left it overnight to dry not really knowing what colours it would end up but I love it now. I dabbed the same blue inks onto the stampboard, edged with gold pentouch and overstamped with a small mask stamp from Stamp Addicts. This was then covered with Crackle Glaze and again left and here is the final result.
