Tie a Yellow Ribbon

Posted by PicasaMy challenge this week is 'Tie a yellow ribbon' round the old oak tree.... la la sing along now.  I am using a few song titles in the next few weeks and this is the first.
The wreath is one I made many years ago when we first lived in Bermuda and I was a member of an American monthly craft club, fashioned from lots of twigs and tiny branches.  I added the Prima flowers and yellow ribbons all round the wreath then popped  the lovely candle in the centre, this was a gift from a friend for a birthday some time ago. I thought it would make a nice Easter display centre (but I am not here ha ha).
Pop over to my challenge blog and give the challenge a go if you remember the song... you may just win some lovely cds from my friend Stephanie.

MARCH 19TH FULL MOON

Here are some pictures taken last night, about 2am,  of the full  and wonderful  'Worm' Moon.... this was the closest full moon to earth ever.
When I took the photos it looked as if the moon was quite clear but when enlarged you can see all the cloud surrounding it.
The colours were stunning even though I missed the red moon at the beginning of the night.
Hope you enjoy them x

Happy St Patrick's Day ....

Posted by Picasaand Happy Birthday to me....... my challenge this week is to make something suitable for ST Patrick's Day so here is my DT creation.
This  time I decided to do a small scrapbook page..... using elements from my new Craft Artist programme and a photo of me, blurred and swirled in Picasa, and attached to the page. I just added the little moulded corner, from Crafty Notions,  which is painted with copper glitter paint.
Certainly something different for me.... pop over to my challenge blog and give the challenge a go yourself. And remember to have fun whatever you create.

A flower for my best friend

Posted by PicasaMy challenge this week is 'Best Friends' so here is my DT card with a flower for my best friend. The background I created in Craft Artist my new cd.  The cute elephants are digi images from Chi Chi Memories who sponsor my challenge this week.  I imported them into Craft Artist, then printed out another set which I coloured with Copics and Promarkers.  I decoupaged them over the base card and added some sparkly flowers with gem centres - one slipped in the scanner sorry lol.
Do check out my challenge and enter this week - you stand the chance of winning some digi images for yourselves.

WOYWW - Creations at last

Posted by PicasaIt is time again for WOYWW and well - where do I start with this lot..... I am making a little booklet of inspiration for myself so here are two pages of the work in progress. First towards the front the birdcage, bird and various keys and locks were cut from Tim Holtz dies onto double sided sticky then varigated gold leaf applied over the top.  The background is also from Tim's pad and I added one of his word tickets, Soar. The corners are moulds made from air dried clay painted with copper glitter paint. The first page I made is in the background with the word Hope a ticket from Tim ..... Tim's papers and lots of flowers and leaves created using Crealies dies all decoupaged.  The background is glittered and Cuttlebugged grungeboard. The little rosette dies to the right front are made with my new Tim die..... I love these.... the front one is made with vellum and the others with varigated papers.  The flowers to the right back are from Steph and of course the rickety house is from Tim.  I also stamped some little tags with the four seasons  adding words using my new Craft Artist cd for use on future pages.
To the back left you can see my new stencil from Crafter's Workshop (unopened as yet.... that's for next week) and some sticks from Claudine Hellmuth to use with her  multi medium.  I hope you enjoyed your tour around my desk - fairly tidy today - do check out the lovely Julia's blog WOYWW and see some more fabulous desks of interest.

Mardi Gras

Posted by PicasaMy new challenge today is 'Mardi Gras' which is celebrated on the 8th March. so here is my DT creation for this week.  I don't know if you know or not but I collect masks..... quelle surprise (I have lots of stamps too lol) ....... and if you come into our house you will see lots of them hanging on the wall in the entrance hall.  This is one I found in a second hand charity shop in Bermuda called The Barn.  It makes money for the Hospital there so as my husband works there I try to shop there often and was lucky last time to find this little treasure.  There was a vague pattern on it but all the paintwork had vanished or was very scratched so I re-painted it using some Suze Weinberg glitter paints on top of Promarkers and Copics. I added lots of gems and sparkles and new ribbons and hey presto I had another mask to add to my collection..... just need Geoff to put it on the wall now.
Do pop over to my challenge blog and enter the challenge - you may win a Joanna Sheen voucher to spend on goodies.
