BOO - Spooks and Witches

My challenge this week has to be Spooky and Witchy as the 31st is of course Halloween so I created a Witches house. I started with a black Ranger tag and stamped with Versamark some little bubbles in the background then coloured over with bluey green Cosmic shimmer Mica powders to look like lights in the sky.
The die cut house is from Tim Holtz of course - coloured with Distress Inks and overstamped with trees and script and I added some stickers found in a pound shop for the spooks, witches hat, pumpkin and broom. A 7 Gypsies tag is attached to the side with distressed edges and a black ribbon bow and a chipboard speech bubble with the word Witch.
This is the house of the Witch but the Spooks seem to have taken over... she will not be amused..... aaah and booo......

WOYWW... creations at last

Well folks it is Wednesday again and that can only mean one thing... it is time to snoop around crafter's desks and see what they are up to.... if you don't know what on earth I am talking about just check out Julia's blog to find out.
I did a little collage for you all today, the top picture showing the centre pages of a little new journal covered with distress inks and then sprayed with water and a few odd stamps here and there. The second is a tag I am working on using distress inks of course and my new That Special Touch masks... Julia asked me to try them out for her lol.
The final picture shows the new fab storage box I had made for my pens.... purple even though it shows up as blue on here.  I love it... all my pens together in one place.

Our Silver Wedding

Good morning all.... well, I am always going on about how the time is flying by this year but today I am moaning about the years flying by- just for a change.

On 29th October it will be our (Geoff and mine) Silver Wedding... yes 25 years have gone by in a flash... we have done so much, travelled the world and lived in three countries... and we have not stopped yet.
We got married on Wednesday, half term at the college where we both taught, went to London till Friday and had to be back in York for Saturday as Geoff was playing rugby.

So my challenge this week over on my challenge blog is to create something SILVER .. with anniversary in the theme as well.....

Instead of making a card I made this little plaque....I painted the frame with silver Eco Green paints which turned out lovely and glittery.  I made the rose using one of Sarah Lawrence, Crafty Notions,  moulds and clay and painted it with the same paints and attached to the frame. I die cut some little leaves using silver glitter paper and attached them to the frame in the corners.
C and G black peel off letters and 1986 the year we were married and of course I had to add some purple gems... I wore a purple dress (not the done thing in those days but can you imagine me in white.... ugh never) and grey/silver shoes, glasses and bag and had pink and purple flowers in my hair and for my bouquet.
So there we have it 25 years later and still going strong, thank our Lord.

If you leave me now...

The new challenge from Hels this week is 'If you leave me now' again another of my all time favourite songs sung by Chicago (takes me back a long time ago to Leeds Cinderella
Rockafellas) the brief to show leaves on our creation. Hels you are very good at choosing songs I love... we have the same taste in music I think. Thanks.
So here is my clock.....I painted the base with turquoise Eco Green paint then did the crackle effect using glue and lilac paints.  I over stamped the stamps using purple Stazon... all the stamps are from La Blanche and distressed the edges using Dusty Concorde.
I was lucky enough to be asked to demonstrate these fab stamps at the Craft Trade Fair in Perth earlier this year.... and yes I love the stamps and now have lots.
I added the four numbers for the clock and embossed with purple embossing powder - in real life they are really sparkly.
I added the clock mechanism and hey ho my finished clock in my favourite colour of course.

WOYWW

Another week and another peep around everyone's desks.... see Julia's blog if you have no clue as to what I am talking about lol.
So here we are.... it was a bit more messy than this but I did a little tidy up for the photo lol otherwise they would have all been piled on top of one another.
You can see some lovely little chipboard bird houses and some speech bubbles that I got from a ribbon club I have just joined.... used one of the speech bubbles already on a Halloween card. The two masks I just bought today.... a grid block and polka dots... look forward to playing with them.  The Tim Holtz mannequins with wings I have been colouring and stamping tonight and in the background you can see a cut out screen card with cute little budgies.  My sister in law loves and breeds them and has a birthday in December so this will be for her... printed out when I saw it on my new Screen card cd.
The poppy stamps are there ready to create a poppy card for Remembrance Day.

A Holtz-ian Halloween

Here is my entry for Grungy Monday challenge to create Holtz-ian Halloween which returned this week ... I layered some of Tim's letters over the black tag and sprayed with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls mist and distressed the edges.  I cut out the witch, coloured her black and over sprayed with the same mist and attached her on a piece of acetate so she could fly freely over the tag.
I cut another small tag and again used some letters, spray and a little purple bat that I found in a pound shop together with a spider.  I added some ribbon and a Tim fragment over the word fun and joined the small tag to the large one. I added another fragment over creepy, a large glittery S, a paper clip and bull dog clip in orange and a black sparkly swirl.  I coloured the chipboard speech bubble with an Adirondack orange dabber and added the word BOO.

Falling Leaves

My challenge this week is 'Falling Leaves'... there are so many around on the ground up here in the sunny (today) Highlands and they look so pretty... I love Autumn/Fall... my favourite time of year. So here is my easel card... the base card being a very shiny black/blue.... you can just see it on the photo... super card from who knows where?
The main image was a white square card run through the Grand Calibur using the new A4 autumn leaves mask... super.... then coloured using the new seasonal Distress Inks from Tim - gorgeous they are too.  I stamped the split tree from Clarity stamps and embossed using the new Frantage embossing powders from Woodware, they are delicious, and also stamped some leaves on the ground and embossed the same way.  The decoupaged leaves were cut using Tim's Tattered leaves die then  coloured with the same Distress Inks and overstamped with the split tree again.  The fall stamp is from Stampscapes.  The glittery stickers I found in my local pound shop - I thought they fit the bill very well. Mmm I am happy with the way this one turned out.... in real life very glitters and sparkly.....

WOYWW

Well at last I managed to get an entry into WOYWW..... if you don't understand just click on the link to Julia's blog and see what the fuss is all about. So two pictures for you today... the top one showing my wonderful new Tim Holtz spinners.... yes two of them... after getting one this week I just had to have another.... it meant reorganising my desk but managed it eventually. On the actual desk you can see my new masks also from Tim and the usual conglomeration of distress inks, sander,  a little pot of super new Frantage embossing powder lurks in the right hand corner and a few glittery orange stickers I found in a local pound shop.  The lower picture shows a work in progress.... background card embossed and coloured with Tim's new seasonal inks woo  I love them, tags from 7 Gypsies overstamped and embossed and a little Tim birdcage and bird..... who could this be for I ask myself....

In the Misty Moonlight

Another week and challenge over and we are into a new month.... October......this can only mean one thing the lovely Joanna Sheen is sponsoring my challenge this week.
My card uses the Winter Moonlight picture from the Thomas Kincade cd which I bought from Joanna.... I love it. It worked perfectly for the 'In the misty moonlight challenge'... I love that song sung by Dean Martin.....aaahhh.

As you may realize from the edges of the card I now have my PURPLE Grand Calibur and I cut the edges of the white base card with the new plates that came included in the deal... I love them. Under the edge is some silver mirri card and blue and silver ribbon... not really visible on the scan.  I simply added a faux stamp picture also from the cd, some blue ribbon and a blue flower decoration.
I stamped the words using Stampscapes stamps... just right for the picture.
