PASTEL FLORAL GOTHIC ARCH

Here is my entry for a number of challenges this week, Cute Card Thursday theme 'Floral', Papertake Weekly 'Pastels', Dutch Dare 'Favorite Things' (Stickles and Cuttlebug), Gothic Arches 'Open' and Tanda Teaser 'Watercolours'. Five in One wow. I created the background using brayered and spritzed pastel watercolours and Cosmic Shimmer sprays then ran it through the Divine Swirls embossing folder and cut out the Gothic Arch. I printed out the Daisy May download and embossed using silver powder then watercoloured and glittered with Stickles. I made a tiny shrinkie and added her with ribbon. I then added a lovely acetate 3d flower sticker (3D not too clear on the scan).

SPRING INTO EASTER

Posted by PicasaThis is my entry for Tanda Teaser 'Spring into Easter' challenge this week. Now you may not think this has anything to do with Easter but in Bermuda, where we lived for 11 years the tradition on Good Friday is for everyone to fly kites on the beach or anywhere possible. Even the Premier joins in on Horseshoe Beach and folks eat codfish cakes inside hot cross buns (codfish is not cod but still a fish!!!)..ugh we never did that, imagine fish inside a hot cross bun - strange traditions places have.
So you have learned something new today lol.
Now back to the card, the base from a DCWV glitter stack, nice and flowery. The little boy is from Cute Daisy May downloads which I love, coloured and enhanced with glossy accents inside a silver frame. I attached the kite and added some ribbon and beads with a bow and a little green parrot charm. The shapes are from a Colourbok chipboard kit from QVC.
I am using this for my challenge this week topic DANGLERS.
Happy Easter to one and all.

Otter in the Wild

Posted by Picasa Here is a lovely little chappie out in the wilds for the Tanda Teaser 'Animals' challenge this week. I love otters, of course we have lots of them up here in the Highlands so this stamp from QVC was a must for me. I used a few trees for the background and added a couple of rocks and chalked and coloured with watercolour pencils.

Bird on a branch

Posted by PicasaBird on a branch not a 'Bird in the hand' for Tanda Teaser this week, but hope you will accept this one. A little tag one of a set I made a while ago. I cut the tag out using decorative scissors and stamped the owl in Stazon. I sprayed with some Glimmer mists and added some Stickles glitter glue together with a green stripey ribbon. A different shaped tag.

Messy meets Tilda in Linnie's Garden

Posted by Picasa Here is the card I made for my own challenge this week but it also applies to Tanda Teaser 'Tulips' challenge too. The garden is one of the backgrounds on 'Scenes to Decorate' from Helping Hands who are sponsoring my challenge site today. I stamped Messy with the tulip and Tilda and coloured them using Lyra colours and Cosmic Shimmers.

Six in One Tonight

Posted by PicasaLast year I managed to do six challenges at the same time and I have managed to equal my own record again tonight. Lots To Do challenge was 'Metal', My Time To Craft was 'Gold', Arty Girlz was 'Flowers',
Created By Hand was 'Gold', Tanda Teaser was 'Hearts and Flowers' and Wednesday Stamper was to use 'Hearts in a Different Way'.
I stamped various floral and swirl images onto white glossy card, floral from Sheena and Swirls from Dimension Fourth and the magazine freebie last week.
I then covered the card with Caramel and Butterscotch Alcohol inks swirling and swooshing on the card. Next, I punched out some gold metal hearts and attached them over the flowers and added a gold gem in the centre. I then edged the corners and embossed a few lines and added some copper pen touch to some of the swirls. Whew that was a job. I could have made it 7 in one as Joanna's challenge this week was also 'hearts' but I had already posted a card for that so thought it would be cheating to count this one in as well lol

Leaves ATC

Posted by PicasaHere is a little atc made for a recent swap that I thought I could enter for
Tanda Teaser 'Leaves' challenge this week. I stamped in black and green inks, various leaves onto pale green vellum and placed this over the top of the stamped atc card underneath. I stamped a large leaf onto gold foil and cut it out and embossed the back and attached to the card together with a small square of mountboard coloured and stamped then covered with glossy accents.

Visit Scotland

Posted by PicasaI managed to cover three challenges with this card tonight, 'Black, White and Grey' for Created by Hand, 'Newspapers' for Wednesday Stamper and 'Travel' for Tanda Teaser. I stamped the background with the Thistle stamp in black Stazon then added torn peieces from our local newspaper with a couple of typed and stamped captions. Visit Inverness and see the Highland Games, listen to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and try to spot the Loch Ness Monster on your travels. Welcome to the Highlands – a great place to live, work and play

B is for Blue, Butterfly and Brads

Posted by Picasa 'Initials' for Tanda Teaser, 'Brads' for My Time to Craft, 'Blue' for Make it Mondays , Wings' for Created by Hand, and 'Puzzle' for So Salsa - these are the challenges that this card covers. I made the puzzle background using Stardust Stains and Glimmer Mists then overstamped the butterfly and cut the shapes with the Cuttlebug jigsaw die and attached them to the blue pearlescent card. I added blue rick rack ribbon down the side. The small card with the message inside was stamped with the butterfly onto white watercolour card and coloured using Lyra crayons, then chalked with blue chalks. I added a blue pearl and silver brad, blue and pink ribbon, blue chipboard initial and another raised blue butterfly sticker to complete the card.

Flowers in the Round

Posted by Picasa 'Flowers in the Round' for Tanda Teaser this week. The background was stamped and chalked with various stamps. I stamped the water lily and dragonflies on acetate then coloured and glittered from the back. I made two tags from water lily paper and stamped and embellished with ribbons.

Posted by Picasa This week the challenge at Tanda Teaser was 'Zoofari' so here is my African Safari double atc. I took two photos of the giraffe and the zebra and created the multi exposure print. I added gold peel off edges for the grasses and mounted on black and gold paper. The other half used skin type lovely furry paper attached with a gold brad and gold peel off letters and a gold sun.

Indian behind the wall

Posted by Picasa Two challenges in one here for Wednesday Stamper 'Stripes' and Tanda Teaser 'YeeHaa'. The back wall used my new wonderful crackle background stamp from Cornish Heritage stamped in black then coloured with distress brown inks. The front wall I made using the stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder and then inked with the same distress inks. The Indian is a stamp from Dimension Fourth coloured in Stampin' Up pens with an added orange feather. The feather background is from Joanna's American Frontier cd with an added sticky ribbon and a couple of gold corner peeloffs.

Extra Special Graduation

Posted by Picasa The challenge at Tanda Teaser was to make an 'extra special card', and this is certainly that. Our niece, a mature student graduated last year with an Occupational Therapy Degree and this is her card. The image, from who knows where, I made into the background paper with the larger image layered on top. The mortar board was hand made and I added a blue tassel as a special treat for Lisa.

Happy Birdday

Posted by Picasa Covered a few challenges with this one tonight. DCM extra was 'Pastels' and I have chalked using various pastel shades. Tanda Teaser challenge was
'Word-Play' which I have shown in the sentiment. Papertake Weekly asked for 'Making Waves' so I trimmed the edges with a scalloped blade and
Created By Hand wanted us to use 'Stencils' so I have used this Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls folder as a stencil. Two of the birds from Glenda's Elusive Images, are also decoupaged and have a slight hint of Sakura pens in there. There we are.

Butterfly Blue and Dragonfly Dreams

Posted by Picasa 'Butterfly Blue' was the challenge from Tanda Teaser and 'Tags' for TGIF so I combined the two with this creation. The blue pearlescent card was background stamped with butterflies, dragonflies and sentiments then coloured with chalks. The main image of waterlilies and dragonflies, a stamp from Jayne Nesterenko, was stamped on acetate and coloured with H2Os and glittered with Art Institute glitters. The two tags covered in blue waterlily and butterfly paper with added sentiments and ribbons finished the card off.

Hey up me old China!

Posted by Picasa Good name for an Oriental challenge over at Tanda Teaser. Thought I would have a change from black and create something blue. The vase stamp is from Joanna Sheen stamped in blue inks then sections highlighted with Sakura clear pen - not easy to see on scan. Simply matted on blue and silver holographic over a blue and white flowery background paper. The silver peel off words say Phoenix, Dance, Fly and Celestial.

Purple Violets

Posted by Picasa A very simple thank you card here made for Tanda Teaser 'All of a piece' challenge - that is to use only one piece of paper for background and embellishments. I created the torn violet background paper using My Craft Studio then enlarged the flowers and decoupaged them over the background. The only other embellishment is the thank you message.

A Scenic Train card

Posted by Picasa This card covers two challenges today, the 'Toy Box' at Tanda Teaser and 'Watercolours' at 4 x 4 Friday. As trains are usually part of a boy's toy box, (both large and small boys I should add) I started off stamping the train, from Dimension Fourth, with black Stazon and watercoloured it using Sakura metallic pens. I decided then to make it into a scenic card as well, so masked the train and added the trees, rocks, track and grass, again with Art Impressions stamps, coloured in with watercolours. The sky is finished in pastel chalks. I then just matted onto black card on a blue pearlized card.

Just a Note

Posted by Picasa I remember being told I must practise my piano playing when I was at school, so here is my entry for Gothic Arches 'Old School' challenge. The background piano keys paper was cut into the arch and the image from Crafty Images Emporium cd was matted onto copper mirri card. The message reads Just a Note but does not show too clearly on the scan - sorry. Now, of course, I wish I had played the piano more. I have also made this my entry for the new
Tanda Teaser 'Music' challenge. I am also adding this to the
Mixed Media Monday 'School' challenge as this is not one of my best subjects and don't have any more school type pictures.
