WOYWW Journal pages
On my desk this week are the starting pages of my journal for April....why would you want to know that? well check out Mistress Julia of WOYWW blog fame to find out what I am talking about. We snoop around other folks desks to see what they are up to... and it is all legal too lol.
I have used the fab new sprays from Dyan Reaveley.... I am in love with them.... to create the background. Stencils and more sprays have been used over the top of the left hand page... the right side is waiting to be completed. I decided to add some of the fab little houses, also from Dyan but these are not actually stuck down yet... just checking out the placement of them.... and a few more to cut out. Then I will need to add the squares for the days of the week.... a work in progress as you can see.
I have been away at the NEC hence the delay in completing these before now - my excuse anyway.
Thanks Julia for my fab new badge too... it arrived just yesterday... woo hoo I am now a fully fledged WOYWW er.

WOYWW and Kate's Calendar challenge

Well, the end of the first month of the new year today... where did it go? and why so fast? Any answers please I would love to hear. Here is my finished January calendar page for Kate's challenge... check it out and see the other fab entries. Also this is my entry for WOYWW... check out Julia's blog if you don't know what I am talking about.
The observant amongst you may notice that I have completely redone my pages..as you know I was away overseas and did not have everything with me but I did the pages anyway.... but when I got home I decided they were just not big enough so started again from scratch...aah what a lot of work I made for myself.
I tried to make the pages similar to the previous ones with a few additions. I finally managed to complete it tonight but then had all the journaling to add... hence the small amount of words.... time ran out on me. You will see the little yellow dot for the full moon (something I watch all the time) and the dragon, thistle and map for THE days of importance in the month - Chinese New Year, Burns Night and Australia Day..
Never mind I have also almost finished February's page too so am really quite pleased with myself.
Also on my desk you can spy my Distress ink box all labelled now and a few odd stamps to the left with my ink duster brushes.
I hope you enjoy my desk this week and my calendar page too.
Do check out the blogs of Kate and Julia and see the other entrants offerings this week.

WOYWW New goodies

Well folks, at last I managed to get my internet to work long enough to post my WOYWW picture for this week... if you have no idea what I am talking about check the lovely Julia's blog right here.
My desk shows at the back the best and very new wonderful acquisition... my Distress Inks box specially made for me by a fab man called Rob.....it even came with the labels... but where is my label for Faded Jeans it has vanished into thin air ...? answers on post card please as it seems to have gone missing in my crowded craft room lol.
The box holds 36 inks and is wonderful as it closes so easy to transport when I do demos. Now they are all sorted and in alphabetical order too woo.
Then at the front you can see my super new Dylusions paints from Dyan at AFTH along with some black gesso - not tried them as yet but can't wait... maybe this weekend.
You can also see a creation too... page one of my 2012 journal created with very few supplies whilst away over the holidays ... yes I joined in with Kate Crane and her gang this year.. a first for me. You can also spot some new stamps to the right and a finished tag for my challenge this week... DRAGONS... do pop over and enter for fun and for Chinese New Year on Monday 23rd.
Have a happy 2012 everyone and don't forget to go to Julia's blog and show us your desk too.

WOYWW and Art Journaling

So here is my first creation for this new Year... hope you had a happy one.
I have decided to try to do Kate Crane's journaling challenge this year so here is my January page. This was quite a difficult task as I am still overseas without most of my craft stuff here but I did make the effort.... Geoff bought me a new sketchbook today so made use of it already. I coloured the background with Pan Pastels after spraying with some fab White Spray Gesso I found over here. I added some stencil markings using darker coloured purples and blues then some stamping using black Archival ink... with the only stamps I have with me. I added the little decoupaged lady as I thought she fitted in nicely with my colour scheme. I printed out the teardrop shapes and the lettering and added to the pages. Although this is not quite what I had in mind it is at least a start.... to be continued on my return to UK soon.
This is also for WOYWW , what is on my desk/cum table this week...if you don't know what I am talking about check out the lovely Julia's blog to find out and go look at everyone's desks this week.

Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day one
Day one of Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas... I have never managed to get one finished before so this is a first. I followed Tim's instructions almost, you can find them here with a few changes. My pine cones are mouldable acetate shaped with the heat gun and the leaves are covered in various Cosmic shimmer sprays and the edges glittered. The background was created using Iced Spruce Distress inks, embossed in the Cuttlebug and then covered in white embossing powder, heated then sanded down and coloured with Iced Spruce again. The key at the top actually says HOPE.... sorry the glare from all the glitter and glitz spoiled it slightly.
I did enjoy making this and hope I may get to do some more during the 12 days.
I hope you enjoy looking and maybe will have a go yourselves.
I am also entering this into WOYWW.. the wonderful blog by Julia showing off our desks each week... do pop over and have a look at the super desks of crafters worldwide.

Lookee lookee.... WOYWW
Well, as some of you may know I was over in the States last week on a fab trip to Miami for a party.... yes really all the way from UK for a 40th party.... and super it was too.
Whilst there I HAD to visit Michaels now didn't I??? even though the week before I was at the NEC buying stuff lol and went straight from there to the States.
So imagine my surprise to find this fab wooden carousel sitting all alone on a shelf... we had it in UK and it sold out within an hour and now the shop can't get any more.... So.....yes I HAD to buy it and here it is in all it's wonderful glory.....shown for the benefit of WOYWW... if you don't know what on earth I am talking about check out Julia's blog and snoop around people's desks. (actually Geoff went back for it the second day... I had decided not to buy it but he decided otherwise for me... what a wonderful man he is).
There was 40% off on the ticket and a lovely lady in the shop gave me a 25% off coupon so actually using that as well I got a real bargain.
It actually weighed ten pounds so was rather heavy to carry back to UK but I did it... alone too I may add.... but well worth all the hard work carrying it.
Now I just have to decorate it but that will have to wait until after Christmas as I am sooo behind with my cards lol.
The second photo shows some of my lovely Tim Holtz goodies picked up at NEC and Micheals again with 25% off in the States.
There is also a little pad of POO paper standing next to Tim's fab journals... yes you did read that right.... paper made from Elephant Poo!!! again something I had to buy.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my new toys... do pop over and join Julia and everyone else at WOYWW.

WOYWW... creations at last
Well folks it is Wednesday again and that can only mean one thing... it is time to snoop around crafter's desks and see what they are up to.... if you don't know what on earth I am talking about just check out Julia's blog to find out.
I did a little collage for you all today, the top picture showing the centre pages of a little new journal covered with distress inks and then sprayed with water and a few odd stamps here and there. The second is a tag I am working on using distress inks of course and my new That Special Touch masks... Julia asked me to try them out for her lol.
The final picture shows the new fab storage box I had made for my pens.... purple even though it shows up as blue on here. I love it... all my pens together in one place.
Now do pop over to see Julia's desk and check out the other participants this week too and remember to have fun.
I won't be able to join in for the next couple of weeks as I am going to Amsterdam for our Silver Wedding, then to NEC followed by a trip back to the island, Bermuda for those who don't know and then joy of joys a trip to MIAMI.... to a party... woo hoo sunshine here I come. Be back soon.

WOYWW

Another week and another peep around everyone's desks.... see Julia's blog if you have no clue as to what I am talking about lol.So here we are.... it was a bit more messy than this but I did a little tidy up for the photo lol otherwise they would have all been piled on top of one another.
You can see some lovely little chipboard bird houses and some speech bubbles that I got from a ribbon club I have just joined.... used one of the speech bubbles already on a Halloween card. The two masks I just bought today.... a grid block and polka dots... look forward to playing with them. The Tim Holtz mannequins with wings I have been colouring and stamping tonight and in the background you can see a cut out screen card with cute little budgies. My sister in law loves and breeds them and has a birthday in December so this will be for her... printed out when I saw it on my new Screen card cd.
The poppy stamps are there ready to create a poppy card for Remembrance Day.
I hope you enjoy your tour around my desk which is way up in the Highlands of Scotland... brrr freezing cold and sleeting today... winter is on it's way.
Have a good day everyone and happy crafting Wednesday.

WOYWW
Well at last I managed to get an entry into WOYWW..... if you don't understand just click on the link to Julia's blog and see what the fuss is all about. So two pictures for you today... the top one showing my wonderful new Tim Holtz spinners.... yes two of them... after getting one this week I just had to have another.... it meant reorganising my desk but managed it eventually. On the actual desk you can see my new masks also from Tim and the usual conglomeration of distress inks, sander, a little pot of super new Frantage embossing powder lurks in the right hand corner and a few glittery orange stickers I found in a local pound shop. The lower picture shows a work in progress.... background card embossed and coloured with Tim's new seasonal inks woo I love them, tags from 7 Gypsies overstamped and embossed and a little Tim birdcage and bird..... who could this be for I ask myself....I hope you like your glimpse into my craft room.... have fun and enjoy the day..... sunny but cold up here.... lovely.

WOYWW - My demonstration table

This week my work desk is a table instead..... Sunday and Monday I was demonstrating the wonderful La Blanche stamps at the Trade Craft Show in Perth so here are a couple of pictures of my table and some of my samples.
The top picture shows some of my cards and a scrapbook page.
The second picture shows the set up of my 'stuff'. I took so much I was really a bag lady.... came back as a box and bag lady lol with more stuff than I went with.
The final picture shows some of the fabulous creations I made with the Melting Pot - ooh I do love it.
As you can see I was stamping, embossing, distressing and generally having fun but I did get a good order for the company too so that pleased me at my first Trade Show... and them of course. They got more orders for their new venture into stamping and were very pleased with my efforts. So much so that I have been asked to do the Trade Show at NEC next year.
I was also given the fabulous daylight lamp to take home as well as lots of other lovely goodies.
I hope you enjoyed your tour round my table this week.... if you have no clue as to what I am talking about check out Julia's fab blog.

WOYWW in Bermuda
Here is my entry for WOYWW this week. Visit Julia if you don't know what I am talking about.
Well, as those of you who know me will see this is not my usual work desk.... I am over in Bermuda for a wee while so have to make do with the dining table which I covered with a cupcake tablecloth lol.
To the front of the picture you can see some ribbon mesh bows that I have been making... I bought them at NEC after my lovely friend Frankie found them.... wow they are super.... the mesh wirey stuff makes them do as you want and you can shape them easily.
On a visit to the town at the weekend I found these rolls of sticky ruler type tape.... never seen these before... they even have a cutter..... there are 2 turquoise rolls in inches and 3 yellow in centimeters. They will go nicely with my dress forms that I bought at the NEC - dressmaking seems to be 'in' at the moment.
To the right and back of the picture there are some sheets of stretch lace found in the charity shop the Barn and bought for a dollar each. I also found the pack of little silver buttons at the Barn too. I am sure I can make use of them sometime when I get home.
The little egg to the left is actually a rubber stamp of an Easer Egg found in a little boutique shop here.
Under all the wires at the back right you can see the programme for 'Fawlty Towers' a BMDS production here on the island that my husband worked on as backstage crew.
Please do not envy me being here as today it is pouring with rain and gale force winds.... third storm to pass over the island since I have been here - less than two weeks.
I hope you enjoy your Bermuda desk tour.... more local photos to come.

WOYWW - Creations at last

It is time again for WOYWW and well - where do I start with this lot..... I am making a little booklet of inspiration for myself so here are two pages of the work in progress. First towards the front the birdcage, bird and various keys and locks were cut from Tim Holtz dies onto double sided sticky then varigated gold leaf applied over the top. The background is also from Tim's pad and I added one of his word tickets, Soar. The corners are moulds made from air dried clay painted with copper glitter paint. The first page I made is in the background with the word Hope a ticket from Tim ..... Tim's papers and lots of flowers and leaves created using Crealies dies all decoupaged. The background is glittered and Cuttlebugged grungeboard. The little rosette dies to the right front are made with my new Tim die..... I love these.... the front one is made with vellum and the others with varigated papers. The flowers to the right back are from Steph and of course the rickety house is from Tim. I also stamped some little tags with the four seasons adding words using my new Craft Artist cd for use on future pages. To the back left you can see my new stencil from Crafter's Workshop (unopened as yet.... that's for next week) and some sticks from Claudine Hellmuth to use with her multi medium. I hope you enjoyed your tour around my desk - fairly tidy today - do check out the lovely Julia's blog WOYWW and see some more fabulous desks of interest.

Some of my new goodies

So much to buy and so little space in case..... here goes..... bevelled fragments, game pieces, lots of rolls of tissue tape just love the stuff, philosophy tags, sprocket gears and lots of tubs of the wonderful Inka gold - pink, blue, silver, gold and slate grey..... superb - great for colouring grungeboard.
A large tub of matte medium by Claudine Hellmuth again super stuff.
The feet for the box are also shown on here - yet to attach .....
All the above were bought at the wonderful Tim Holtz workshop that I attended last Thursday - wow what a day we had..
The Claudine Hellmuth stamps were waiting for me when I got home.... they were from QVC.
You can also see one of the little boxes we removed from the big configurations box (you can see that on another posting).... I can do something else with them..... eventually.
What a lot of lovely stash..... gorgeous.
So.... this is what is on my desk this week so am adding to WOYWW woo how lucky am I?

WOYWW

Here are a few bits I have been working on this week. I have been playing with Angelina fancy fibres and fancy film and created the stunning background piece by adding some gold metal flakes to the mix of fibres and films. The two masks and the heart are also from the films and fibres. The other creations were made using mica pieces with embossing powder sandwiched between the two pieces heated then overstamped with Stazon. In real life they do look super even though I say so myself.... don't want to give these away lol. A technique I learned from Sarah Lawrence of Crafty Notions - thanks Sarah.
Do check out the wonderful Julia's WOYWW blog for more interesting photos of crafters workdesks.
Hope you like - at least it does not look too messy today lol and I blogged it direct from my android again.... yes it works well.

WOYWW - Embellishments

This is the first entry I have made to WOYWW - but now I have my new Tab I can post direct from the camera so here goes.
I have, as you can see, been making lots of different embellishments this weekend. Roses, now coming out of my ears as I love them so much, from a design my lovely friend Frankie passed to me, using both grungeboard and sticky back canvas, lovely moulding clay and moulds from Sarah at Crafty Notions and a frame I bought from Glenda before she closed down her shop.
I have been painting them with a mixture of paints some from Tim Holtz and Suze Weinberg and some others I found lurking in my paintbox. There is just one heart left to paint on the right hand side of the picture and the roses at the front.
Maybe sometime soon I will get round to making a card..... he he.
I hope you like them - I am really pleased with them as not done anything like this before.
