First Alcohol Inks

This was the first card I made using Alcohol inks some time ago when I did the course so it is my entry to Stamp Something 'First Somethings' challenge. I know it is not the right time of year but it was my first so relevant to this challenge.

Viva La France

'France' is the topic for Gothic Arches this week so here is mine. The background was created with various alcohol inks then overstamped with a selection of French stamps with an added expoxy sticker to complete the look.

Decoupaged Tilda with flutterbyes

This atc covers three challenges tonight. Tilda and Co 'Decoupaged Tilda', Tilda and Friends 'Bugs' and Lots to do Sunday 'Decoupage' - a bit of a decoupage trend here. I stamped Tilda onto a white glossy, silver edged card atc and coloured her with chalks and Sakura pens, then decoupaged her hair. I added a gold butterfly and a silver and blue dragonfly. I distressed the card and then mounted it onto a background of alcohol inks and stamped insects.

AAI and Foiled Ladies

Saturday Workout asked for 'Alcohol Inks' and Wednesday Stamper asked for 'Diva' so here are mine. Not everyones idea of Diva I am sure but the overall effect is, I think Diva-ish - is that a word? The background was created using butterscotch and caramel inks and over the top I added some glue then used foil strips to get the copper and gold effect. (Thanks to the lovely Sylvie on JS forum). I stamped this new and great stamp from Magenta (been waiting ages to get this) over the top with black Stazon and covered the whole card with acetate. Mmm different.

Frame that Lady

I was late with my entry last week so tried to get in early this week for My Time to Craft 'Framed' challenge. Onto a cream pearlescent card I layered some orange fan paper and a white card which had been put through the Tattered Rose Distressed inked Cuttlebug script folder. I created the orange backgound with various alcohol inks then stamped randomly over it with an Oriental script and flower stamp adding the lady in black Stazon. I framed the lady and overstamped again with script. I added the gold butterfly, ribbon and coin for luck.

Collage de Paris

The challenge today at Gothic Arches was 'We'll Always Have Paris' so here is my collage. The stamps are an assortment of clear France stamps and the background I created using various alcohol inks swirled over glossy card.

Blue Green Stampboard Butterfly

Another Stampboard creation for TGIF 'Blue and Green' and DCM 'Butterfly' challenges. The background was created using alcohol inks applied with the applicator then overstamped in blue with butterflies and sentiments. Silver peeloffs and edged in green inks to embellish. The main image was stamped on alcohol inked, in the same colours, stampboard and triple embossed leaving the bubbles to show rather than being smooth.

Oriental Lady

I have covered three challenges tonight with this card. 4 x 4 Friday 'Oriental', TGIF 'Faces' and Step outside your Box 'Different colours'. I created the green background using Latte, Terracotta and Stream alcohol inks then stamped the Ginko box, Personal Impressions, in green Stazon. For the orange background I used Latte, Terracotta and Copper inks and overstamped in green with the lady from Personal Impressions. I don't often use green or much orange so they are different colours for me. I added the orange and green sticker slippers for effect and rounded the corners with a corner punch.

Green Asian Gothic Arch

Three challenges in one here with 'Green' for Sunday Stampers, 'Asian' for Gothic Arches and 'Quotes' for Scrummy Stash Cafe. The background paper for the arch was created on white glossy card, using alcohol inks, bottle, lettuce, meadow and gold colours mixed together and pounced with the applicator. I then overstamped in green Stazon with various Oriental leaf and branch stamps. The butterfly and acetate cover are from a QVC kit attached with an Oriental coin and a green pearl brad. I added a Chinese quote on parchment torn and edged with green ink.

Heaven is Chocolate

When I made an arch for a previous challenge I made this one as well so today it is my entry for Arty Girlz 'Chocolate' challenge. It is actually red, white and chocolate with the background card created with alcohol inks. Chocolates from the internet and the image a cd one, printed from My Craft Studio.

Blue Green Flutterbyes

This card (the background made yesterday before I knew of the Blue Green challenge) is for two challenges, Papertake Weekly 'Blue Green' and

My Time to Craft 'Wings' challenges. I created the background using alcohol inks and Glimmer mists all mixed together then sponged on glossy card. I then stamped the dragonfly and sentiments from Choice Clear Stamps with blue Stazon. The stampboard, coloured in the same way with the stamped dragonfly is triple embossed, but instead of making it smooth I have left it with a raised tactile finish for a different effect. Silver peeloffs to finish it off.

Early Easter Card

Here is my combined effort for DCM 'Plastic' and TGIF 'Backgrounds' challenges. First of all I bought my husband a new shirt (I do things like that)and removed all the plastic bits and papers and found the strip with slots in. Ha, ha, I thought I can use this so - yellow ribbon threaded through it for the left hand edging. I made the yellow background using alcohol inks caramel and butterscotch and over stamped with the egg, the bees, butterflies and sentiment in black Stazon of course. I matted this onto copper mirri then over yellow flowered torn paper on a cream pearlized card. I stamped some more sentiments and stamped the egg on the flowered paper and overlayed it on the other egg. A bee and butterfly were also decoupaged. I added some Sakura metallic gold pen and clear Stickles glitter glue and there we are - finished.

Friends Forever

Made this one a little while ago but thought it would be a nice one for
Craft and Waffle Blog Candy card. There is quite a mixture here, Joanna Sheen's torn paisley paper on a cream card. The swirls stamped over alcohol inked background matted onto gold mirri card. The main stamp stamped in Stazon and coloured in with watercolours and pens, a rub on and peel off to complete the card. I am adding this one to the 'Friendship' challenge at Caardvarks as well.

Butterflies, Bees and Ladybirds

I have doubled up on this challenge using 'Glossy Card' for Created by Hand and 'Insects' for TMTA. The background was created on glossy white card, using alcohol inks butterscotch, caramel and gold which gives a slight sparkle (hard to see on scan) then stamped with black Stazon the butterflies, ladybirds and bees. I then added the wooden orange butterfly, the yellow buzzy bee and the red and black ladybird.

Spring in your step

This is my entry for the Papertake Weekly 'Spring in your step challenge'. The background was made using butterscotch and caramel alcohol inks onto a glossy card, together with a dash of gold which makes the card sparkle then matted onto a green card. Difficult to see the sparkle on the scan. The stamps are from a varied flower set stamped over the alcohol inks with yellow, green and purple inks. The centre message secured with a yellow flower brad reads 'Friends are the flowers in the garden of life' - very true I think.

Another Stampscapes Cottage

The challenge at Arty Girlz is to use 'Stamps' on your card so of course I had to do another Stampscapes card. Made up of Stampscapes stamps on a glossy card, with an alcohol inks background matted on gold mirri card on a cream card. I do love these scenic cards.

Escape to Peace and Quiet

The challenge this week from 4 x 4 Friday was 'Houses' and although the final result is slightly larger I thought you may like to see it anyway. The background was made with three alcohol inks swiped over glossy white card, denim, stonewash and stream, giving the sky and water colours. I then stamped the house and trees, from Stampscapes, in black Stazon over the background. Mounted on silver holographic card onto a blue pearlised card with a message rubon on the matching piece of background card.

From the Heart

Two challenges covered here - TGIF 'Hearts' and DCM 'Red and White'. The background cream card is covered with more of that gorgeous material bought at NEC which is very flimsy and glittery. The white heart is simply cut and stamped with the message and edged in red Stazon. The large red heart was created using Alcohol inks with two smaller red Rubbadubbadoo stamped hearts embossed in white powder. Two additional red velvet hearts complete the look. I have added this to the Caardvarks 'Valentine' challenge too as I think it is appropriate.

Friendship

The challenge from Skinny Saturday was 'Friendship' and I think these words - sharing, lasting and trust all add up to a good friend. The background was created using alcohol inks swirled over the glossy card. Then stamped in purple Stazon image, is 'Woman in Repose' again and the charm is one of the ones on my earlier post tonight, made from stampboard stamped and glittered. The picture on the locket on the charm looks like Mother and Child who are hopefully good friends. I just added a nice purple flower too.

Potty About Purple

Step Outside Your Box Saturday offered a challenge to use 'Magazine Art' in our card making, so here is my effort. However I thought this card could also apply to the Mixed Media Monday 'Whimsey' challenge as I think the little Russian doll looks whimsical. The magazine was advertising the fact that purple is the in colour at the moment, however, it is always in with me, as most of you know already it is my favourite colour. The table, lamp, vase and doll were all cut from the magazine and I attached them over an alcohol inks background made up of Cranberry, Wild Plum and Silver inks. The purple flowers my husband bought me for Christmas and I added a purple and silver brad in the centre. The left hand side is edged with a purple sticky ribbon together with the title strip and I added a piece of raffia type paper at the bottom.
