Girl Power

'Girl Power' is the topic for CD Sunday challenge this week - not an easy one for me this time.  H0wever, here is my DT card using a Rockhard Fairy that I thought looked a little like a Wonder Woman type of person flying through the air. I have stacked  and mounted her onto a pink card which is covered with torn edged papers from Michele Marsden Triple Treasures cd and also Oriental Fairies cd .  I added the pink glittered swirls and created the Girl Power message using the  Xyron Design Runner.  Do pop over to the blog and see the other lovely DT cards and enter yourself. Feathered Friends

'Feathered Friends' is the topic for this week's CD Sunday challenge.  The idea is to use something from one of your many cds that sit on the shelf waiting to be used. Here is my DT card.  First I ran the brown base card through the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then added a piece of blue swirly paper printed from Michele Marsden's Designa Backgrounds cd from the Triple Treasure collection that has also been Cuttlebugged with the same folder.  The main gorgeous owl image is from Dawn Bibby's Woodland Decoupage collection. I added some extra flowers, gems and the little DCWV chipboard sentiment and a strip of ribbon at the bottom edge of the card. Do give the challenge a go this week and use those cds.

Jan's Egyptian Word Book

Here is another word book made for my Rainbow Friend Jan. The book was made using the Funky Hand downloads and I added lots of Egyptian images from Michele Marsden, a couple of ribbons and some gold peel offs. I will not bore you with all the other pages lol.

Framed Tree

Here is a little framed picture I made today, why? - I don't really know except that I took a fancy to doing this. Sadly the scan lights and the acetate don't do it justice as it looks a little cloudy but in real life it is not.

The background was made using alcohol inks dragged over to create stripes then the tree from Stamp Addicts overstamped in black Stazon. I covered the picture in acetate then added the frame which was from one of Michele Marsden's kits.

Egyptian Birthday Book

My cousin Gail will soon be 65 so I decided to make her a little booklet instead of a card. She and her partner have just returned from Egypt so thought she would like this. The papers are from Funky Hand Word Books and I have embellished the front, back and four pages below with icons from a Michele Marsden 'Round the World' Kit. This also fits the 'Pink and Brown' topic from My Time To Craft this week.

The final D 4 sample

For this card I cut down an extra large card from Michele Marsden using my fancy cutting machine ( it is now about 8 x 8 inches). I ran a piece of purple mirri card through the Cuttlebug machine twice, once at each end with different embossing folders. I embossed a few swirls in the centre using the Glitter Girls Bookafleur board. Then I attached it to the main card using foam pads and added the Twinkle fairy in the centre, together with the Twinkle message at the bottom of the card (the light does not show it on the scan - sorry). I added some white ribbon and tied in a bow at the side. See if you can spot my deliberate mistake anywhere lol

Stampboard and Acrylic Snowmen

The lovely Glenda is running a competition to win some of her new stamps with the topic being to use Stampboard with Elusive Images stamps. I, like Glenda, love using stampboard. I coloured first using inks sponged and blended together, then stamped the lovely snowman from Glenda's new Christmas collection in Midnight Blue Stazon, and coloured him slightly using Sakura pens. I edged the board with silver Pentouch then clear embossed the whole piece making the embossing go all bubbly to indicate the snow. The main card was printed using Artylicious Seasons Greetings cd, starry night paper and the sentiment also from the cd and covered with a snowflake acetate wrap from Michele Marsden. Then I stamped onto an acrylic piece from Joanna Sheen, using the same stamps and some little Glenda swirly stamps too. Coloured in the same way and colours I then clear and white embossed on the back of the acrylic. I attached with a snowflake eyelet the acetate to the card front then fastened blue ribbon fibre to dangle the acrylic piece. I finally attached the stampboard, a coordinating insert and even a snowman 'handmade by me' name tag on the back. Sorry about the light reflecting on the acetate caused by the scan.

Card for Erin Kate

Well, here is my card for our new Grand-daughter who was born on Friday 11th July at 946pm. I used one of the large Michele Marsden cards with a couple of pink torn background sheets. I then added the small gold dekkle edged card which was covered in one of the same background papers then added some die cut decoupage and a sentiment with a couple of gold peel off corners and some sticky pink ribbon. I attached pink ribbon to this card and inside added various little toys and sayings. A few extra embellishments including chipboard letters for the name and a couple of gems completed the front. The insert on the right I created using My Craft Studio. I also on the left inside added the meaning of the names Erin, Gaelic for 'Eire' and Kate, Greek for 'Pure'. I hope they like it.

Circles of Friends

A very quick card for My Time to Craft 'Circles' challenges as I am very late this week. This wonderful background from Michele Marsden has a blue holographic square with a mounted heart shaped cut out lady from Crafty Images Emporium. An added Friends completes this quickie.

Hot, Hot, Hot or Caliente

'Caliente' or 'Hot' was the topic from Caardvarks last Friday, so here is my hot, hot, hot effort. From a Michele Marsden kit the orange background card was torn and edged with orange inks and attached to the brown card. The images and the tag were raised and atached by a gold brad and the message strip added at the bottom. 'The inside reads hope you have a HOT birthday'.

Gay Paris

Here is my entry for Mixed Media Monday 'Paris' challenge. The background was created using the Fantasy Floral Cuttlebug embossing folder, covered in pink ink, direct to paper, then embossed with clear sparkle powder and added to the pink card. I also attached ribbon, Eiffel Tower, postage stamp, coin and greeting all from one of Michele's kits.

Cherish

Made this a wee while ago but I still have the card so can use it for today's 'Cherish' challenge at Theme Thursday. Background black swirls paper printed from Michele Marsden cd and the face stamped in black Stazon and matted on silver mirri card with the rub on word Cherish.

Les Bicyclettes de --- Paris

I know, I know, it should be Versailles but hey what's between French towns and friends?? This is for Caardvarks 'Transport' theme and Theme Thursday 'Paris' challenge. The background and main images are from Michele Marsden and the bicycle is Joanna Sheen's coloured with Marvy and Stampin' Up pens.

Black, White and Blue

Here is a card made for Enfys 'black white and one other colour' challenge for blog candy that she is kindly giving away. The circles main background card is from Michele Marsden's cd and the image is from Joanna's 'Dancing with Shadows' cd, simply matted on blue holographic card. The stamped message is from Stamps Away (one of my prize choices from Scrummy Stash Cafe).

Going round in circles

A black and white card for a 'Circles' challenge over at Arty Girlz today. The background card was printed direct to glossy card from Michele Marsden's cd then four mats, silver, black, white fuzzy felt and black card with the image from Joanna's 'Dancing With Shadows' cd. The scan makes the white circles look grey but they are actually pure white.

A Fairy Rustle in the Wind

Here is a birthday card made for a forum friend which I think fits the bill for Theme Thursday challenge 'Quotes'. The background fairy paper is from Meryle Holland and edged with mauve peel offs onto a mauve pearlescent card. The waterfall base elements are from Michele Marsden and the fairy pictures and quote 'A rustle in the wind reminds us a fairy is near' are also from Meryle.

Buttons and Bows Waterfall card

Here is a birthday card I made for my Sister-in-law's birthday on the 8th December. I had it made already for posting, from a Michele Marsden kit, but thought I could just add the pink ribbon and purple button to make it good for entry to Daring Cardmakers Santa's Little Extra Helper 'Buttons and Bows' challenge. A nice girly card, as most of my Christmas cards are done.

Here is a waterfall card I made earlier so thought I could use it for DCM 'Tweet Tweet' challenge today. The red Gothic Arch background is made from the Cuttlebug embossing script folder on to a green card edged with gold peel offs. The waterfall and message are from a Michele Marsden kit.

Checked Shoes

A second waterfall card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge 'All Checked Out'. I have added a checked border strip to the pink pearlescent card and attached the waterfall (lovely shoes) again with brads. The message reads Happy Birthday.

I shall not be posting for a week as taking a short trip to Bruges. Take care all.

Checked Flowers
