Winter Wonderland

Posted by PicasaHere is my first Christmas card for 2010 and entry to Bah Humbug 'recycling' challenge. The main background card was from the front of one of our cards last year - I only throw away the year after not the same year lol.  I oversprayed using blue and green Glimmer Mists to add to the already glittered trees and rounded the corners.  I stamped the cottage and bridge scene, coloured using watercolour pencils then did the sky and grass with the same Glimmer Mists. The whole card was then oversprayed again with glitter and I added the Winter Wonderland see through sticker.
Great new challenge blog ladies well done.

AS YOU LIKE IT

Posted by PicasaHere is my DT card for this week's 'As You Like It' challenge over at Cute Daisy May. The background was coloured using Glimmer Mists then run through the Cuttlebug 'Divine Swirls' folder giving a distressed kind of look. I printed out the Daisy May image and embossed using silver embossing powder and coloured with coloured pencils and added some Stickles glitter glues. I then printed Daisy onto shrink plastic, coloured, shrunk and attached with silver thread underneath the acetate decoupaged flower. Do check out the Cute Daisy May challenge site to see some great DT cards and enter a card yourself. Have fun.

APRIL SHOWERS

Posted by PicasaA little card created for a Rainbow Friend April Showers swap and also for Created by Hand 'Spring' challenge this week. I created the main card background using various Glimmer Mists and Cosmic Shimmer sprays and trimmed the corners. I stamped Tilda in the rain onto a white glossy card and added the background using ink direct to the card. I coloured her using Lyra crayons. After adding a couple of photo corners and peel offs I sprayed her with the new Spray and Shine from Crafter's Companion.
This shows a typical English Spring with the April Showers.

Bird on a branch

Posted by PicasaBird on a branch not a 'Bird in the hand' for Tanda Teaser this week, but hope you will accept this one. A little tag one of a set I made a while ago. I cut the tag out using decorative scissors and stamped the owl in Stazon. I sprayed with some Glimmer mists and added some Stickles glitter glue together with a green stripey ribbon. A different shaped tag.

Another Word Book

Posted by Picasa Here is one just for Nancy. I was making this at the same time as Nancy and Steph had their brainwave yesterday - finding that you can make word books using MCS. I took the tie image, made it into a tile, dragged it across the page then added one of the alphabet letters. Printed out three times with each different letter I then attached it to a backing sheet of chipboard covered with Glimmer Mists. I attached the three sheets together with gold brads (after cutting them down to size) then made a couple of holes in the whole thing and added the rings and rickrack braiding. I cut the corners with decorative scissors and added the gold peeloff message.
A birthday card for my friend's sister's husband.

Thank You Card

Posted by PicasaThis card was made to say thanks for a lovely pre-birthday gift from my lovely friend Frankie. The white background card was brayered using a rainbow ink pad then put through the Cuttlebug embossing folder and covered with distress inks. I did the same with the vellum and attached it with a dragonfly brad. The stampboard was swiped with the same inks then overstamped and covered with lots of Glossy Accents to make it look cloudy not clear. The small card was brayered on glossy card then overstamped. I embossed the Glimmer Misted green card with another folder then oversprayed again with the Mists. Edge trimming done using my Purple Cows cutter.

Rainbow Friends Swap

Posted by Picasa Here is the card made as a swap for Rita my Rainbow Friend. Lots of techniques here. The background for the stamped image was made using a brayer and rainbow ink pad on glossy card with overstamping of the image. The large swirly card was run through the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder then swiped with pink inks and sanded slightly. The background white card was sprayed with Glimmer mists first. The vellum was also run through the same folder and attached with a jewelled brad. The stampboard was inked with the same colour inks, overstamped with the Ginko then covered in Glossy Accents and edged with Pentouch. The main pink pearl card was overstamped with swirls from Dimension Fourth and the magazine freebie. Guess what the topic was? - yes Swirls and Flourishes.

DIMENSION FOURTH AND CUTTLEBUG CHALLENGE

Well, as the stamps are now showing on the Ideal World web site even though the show is not on until Monday I thought I would be ok to post some of the samples I have made over the next couple of days. Here is the first one.
The background to this arch I made using Glimmer Mists from Glenda, spritzing various colours over the white card. I then cut out the arch and overstamped Twinkle using Black Stazon. I coloured her using Sakura pens and Lyra watercolours then ran the whole arch through the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder. I stamped the message at the top and that was that.

I am also going to enter this for the Cuttlebug challenge today to make a shaped card - this Gothic Arch should fit the bill.

I would not normally buy 'cute' stamps but I have enjoyed working with these for a change.

Skating in the Moonlight

Posted by PicasaHere is my entry for this week's Gothic Arches 'Winter Sports' challenge. The background was created using various shades of blue Glimmer Mists then overstamped with the skates, tree, clouds, moon and star - all in Midnight blue Stazon - stamps from Dimension Fourth. I added colour using Sakura pens and some watered down ink from various ink pads and painted on using a waterbrush. I then added clear Glaze Drops and Glossy Accents for the ice, then dropped on some pale blue sparkles using Stickles glitter glues.

Gypsy Ladies

Posted by Picasa The theme for Gothic Arches last Sunday was 'Gypsies' so here are my three dancing gypsies and this also fits Sunday Stampers 'Blue' challenge today. The background was created using Glimmer Mists in various colours, then overstamped three times with the gypsy from Cornish Heritage Farms, in of course, black Stazon.. The message reads 'If you can Dream it you can Do it' from Elusive Images. I added a couple of gold peel offs and a gold tassel attached with a gold brad for embellishment.

Cuttlebugged Christmas Village

Posted by Picasa I created this card using Glimmer Mists for the background, stamping with Black Stazon using Glenda's stamps (I love this stamp) then placing the whole card thru the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder to give a nice raised effect. I added a little of Sue Smith's Plaid papers from her cd to the visible edge of the main dark blue card, and mounted the white card onto this. The glitter I added does not, of course, show up well on the scan but it is there I promise.

Swirls and Flourishes

Posted by Picasa Here is another card made using Glenda's wonderful new stamps. The background card is spritzed and sprayed with Glimmer Mists and Starburst Stains then overstamped in Midnight Blue Stazon using the swirl and flourish stamps. I took some blue holographic card and oversprayed with white Webbing Spray then attached the stamped image of the star. This too was layered on silver holographic card with webbing spray and colour tinted with inks to match the background. I just added the stamped sentiment on the same sprayed card. I have used this for my own challenge of 'Swirls and Flourishes' this week.

Another Village Scene

Posted by Picasa Whilst I was making the last card I thought I may as well use the same stamp, from Glenda, to make another similar one, this time a 4 x 4 for the 4 x 4 Friday 'Spray and Splash' challenge. I sprayed and spritzed the Glimmer mists to create the background then stamped with Midnight Blue Stazon. Next I ran the whole image through the snow dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder to get the raised effect. I added some extra direct to paper sponged inks and a touch of glitter then raised on foam onto a white card. I had previously sponged the edges with blue inks.

Winter Village Scene

Posted by Picasa Here is my entry for Glenda's Christmas card competition, you can find the details on her website. Using various shades of blue I created the background with Glimmer mists spritzed and sprayed onto white card. I then overstamped the village image from Glenda's new Christmas stamps in midnight blue Stazon. I matted this onto silver mirri card and rounded the corners. I stamped the lovely swirl stamp and embossed with Cosmic shimmer silver embossing powder onto the pale blue card. I covered a piece of stampboard with silver embossing powder then overstamped the stars and edged with silver pentouch pen. I added an eyelet and silver cord and raised the stampboard on foam tape to give dimension for the embellishment. As always the Glimmer mists do not show up too well on the scan sorry, but they do glimmer in real life.

The Magic of Music ...

Posted by Picasa...warms the heart and soothes the soul. I do so agree and hope you do too. This house is for Dans Ma Maison il y a de la musique 'Music' challenge. After cutting out the house I coloured it with Glimmer Mists, Golden Terracotta, then ran it through the Allegro Cuttlebug embossing folder. I stamped the heart and music, from Stamps Happen, onto white card in red Stazon, and coloured direct to paper with an orange ink pad then ran that through the same embossing folder before attaching to the house. I just added a few sparkly sticker notes for embellishment.

A Note For You

Posted by Picasa A little circle tag for Tag You're It 'Circle' challenge. I sprayed the centre from an aperture card with Glimmer Mists, Lily Pad and Frosty Nights then stamped in green Stazon the little owl with the message for you. I added some Stickles silver glitter glue, ribbon and edged the points with green inks. Almost forgot to add Created By Hand challenge too.

Blue Green Flutterbyes

Posted by Picasa This card (the background made yesterday before I knew of the Blue Green challenge) is for two challenges, Papertake Weekly 'Blue Green' and
My Time to Craft 'Wings' challenges. I created the background using alcohol inks and Glimmer mists all mixed together then sponged on glossy card. I then stamped the dragonfly and sentiments from Choice Clear Stamps with blue Stazon. The stampboard, coloured in the same way with the stamped dragonfly is triple embossed, but instead of making it smooth I have left it with a raised tactile finish for a different effect. Silver peeloffs to finish it off.
