Will it be a White Christmas???

A 'White Christmas' may be on the cards for me this year as going over to Baltimore from Bermuda for four days..... this is my challenge this week and here is my DT card.
The image is from Stamp n Doodle... I do love it so plain and simple and effective I think.  I added some Cuttlebugging on the side and the stamp from Stampscapes.

WOYWW - Creations at last

It is time again for WOYWW and well - where do I start with this lot..... I am making a little booklet of inspiration for myself so here are two pages of the work in progress. First towards the front the birdcage, bird and various keys and locks were cut from Tim Holtz dies onto double sided sticky then varigated gold leaf applied over the top.  The background is also from Tim's pad and I added one of his word tickets, Soar. The corners are moulds made from air dried clay painted with copper glitter paint. The first page I made is in the background with the word Hope a ticket from Tim ..... Tim's papers and lots of flowers and leaves created using Crealies dies all decoupaged.  The background is glittered and Cuttlebugged grungeboard. The little rosette dies to the right front are made with my new Tim die..... I love these.... the front one is made with vellum and the others with varigated papers.  The flowers to the right back are from Steph and of course the rickety house is from Tim.  I also stamped some little tags with the four seasons  adding words using my new Craft Artist cd for use on future pages.
To the back left you can see my new stencil from Crafter's Workshop (unopened as yet.... that's for next week) and some sticks from Claudine Hellmuth to use with her  multi medium.  I hope you enjoyed your tour around my desk - fairly tidy today - do check out the lovely Julia's blog WOYWW and see some more fabulous desks of interest.

Shabby Chic

My challenge this week is 'Shabby Chic' so here is my DT card. The main background is made from grungeboard sprayed and over sprayed with Cosmic Shimmers and glitter sprays and run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder Divine Swirls. The curved layer is cut from a Go Kreate die also run through the Cuttlebug Plum Blossom embossing folder and swept over with Worn Lipstick Distress ink. I cut the small flowered die using a spellbinders die,  from aTim Holtz pad and cut the flowers and leaves from the same paper using my new Crealies dies.  I love them. I added glitter and the Hope ticket, coloured in worn lipstick and fired brick to pick out the red in the flowered papers, again from Tim and added a couple of green gem centres to the layered flowers.
This is going to be page one of a little Inspirational book I am creating.

CHALLENGE 139 - Love and Romance

My challenge this week is 'Love and Romance' in honour of Valentines Day and here is my DT card. The scalloped card is from a QVC pack, run through the script Cuttlebug Embossing folder and coloured with worn lipstick Distress ink.  I added a torn and edged piece of wonderful red and silver glittery soft material paper (bought at NEC) then attached the lovely bird digital image from ChiChi Memories (they are sponsoring my challenge this week). I coloured him with Promarkers and added a couple of glitter hearts and the ticket together with some red rick rack ribbon and red and pink gems also from QVC.

Happy New Year - Chinese Style

Here is my DT card for my challenge this week which is Chinese New Year.
I made the card for my sister and brother in law as they are very fond of anything Asian. I used a scalloped card from QVC and ran it through the Cuttlebug Bamboo embossing folder then coloured with a couple of green Distress Inks. I made the little panda from shrink plastic -  a while since I played with it.  I stamped the rabbit, as this year is the Year of the Rabbit, and coloured with pastel chalks.  The lady is from a chipboard freebie magazine set.  The label is cut from my new and wonderful Cuttlebug Plus Fanciful Labels folder - how great to cut and emboss at the same time.  I stamped the message from a See D's Asian Designs set and coloured in the same distress inks.  I added a border to the inside of the card and some gems to embellish.

Sparkle and Shine

Here is my easel card for my challenge this week - yes a Christmas card.... can you believe we are almost at the end of August? only 4 months to go.
I brayered the background card using Sweet Pea Big and Juicy leaving some white at the top then cut out with my Tim Holtz die and Cuttlebugged with Divine Swirl.  The Eco ARt Board piece I covered in some glitter paints from Suze Weinberg in mauve and silver then stamped the image on the top in black (can't remember who the stamp is from sorry but it is one I use a lot.)  I added a blue strip of glitter card and a cut out snowflake border from Martha Stewart using some blue and whitepaper  and added some silver glitter glue. The sentiment is from Personal Impressions and the swirl from Dawn Bibby. I hope you like.
I will also enter this for Bah Humbug 'Winter Wonderland' and  the Winter Wonderland Christmas challenge this week too.

Paint it

My dear musician friend John has a birthday next week so here is the card I created for him and for my challenge this week - the topic being 'Paint it'.
I created the background on white Eco Art board using Eco Green paints, green with butternut over the top. I dragged a plastic tool over the two colours to get the textured background then mounted it onto a die cut shape from Tim Holtz run through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I stamped the guitars and coloured them in slightly with big and juicy inks not covering totally so as to see the grained texture underneath. I added a couple of die cut shapes from a QVC kit and stamped the message from Banana Frog. I finally edged the art board with the same green paint to cover the white edges.

This is stamped on white card and coloured.  Alcohol inks on vellum for the butterfly and flowers which were punched out and the jewel centres added.  The gold card was run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots then a black ink pad run over the surface. A simple but effective card I think.

Acetate covered Christmas Village

The challenge this week from Bah Humbug is to use 'Acetate' on our creations.
I simply love to see acetate that has been through the Cuttlebug so have added an overlay, attached with a snowflake brad,  using the Snowflakes embossing folder with added colour splodges. The acetate has slipped on the scanner but it means you can see it more clearly than if it was directly over the scene, which it is in real life. The scene was stamped and coloured using Lyra crayons for a change, stamps a mixture from Art Impressions and Scene its plus the snowflake and message from Glenda. Another one for the box.

Winter Silhouette

I just loved this image the moment I saw it on 50/50 blog and knew I had to have it.  It is from Stampndoodle so off I popped to buy it and then I went and joined 50/50 too.  I printed the image onto white shiny card, chomped the corners and mounted onto another white card that I had Cuttlebugged with the snowflakes embossing folder.  I added Winter from Stampscapes stamping word set for embellishment.  I don't think it needs anything else.
This is another entry for Bah Humbug silhouettes challenge this week. I have missed a couple due to being away so need to catch up.
This is what it looks like up here in the Highlands in Winter time - wonderful.

Feathered Friends

'Feathered Friends' is the topic for this week's CD Sunday challenge.  The idea is to use something from one of your many cds that sit on the shelf waiting to be used. Here is my DT card.  First I ran the brown base card through the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder. I then added a piece of blue swirly paper printed from Michele Marsden's Designa Backgrounds cd from the Triple Treasure collection that has also been Cuttlebugged with the same folder.  The main gorgeous owl image is from Dawn Bibby's Woodland Decoupage collection. I added some extra flowers, gems and the little DCWV chipboard sentiment and a strip of ribbon at the bottom edge of the card. Do give the challenge a go this week and use those cds.

Snowflakes

This week's challenge at Bah Humbug is to create something showing Snowflakes so here is my first effort.  I stamped the scene using a mixture of scenic stamps and coloured using watercolours then mounted over white card run through the Snowflakes and Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folders.  I then embossed a small piece of acetate using Divine Swirls and attached it with a gold brad.  Another done for Christmas.

Artfully Asian - CD Sunday

Here is my DT card for CD Sunday weekly challenge - this week the topic being 'Artfully Asian'. I created the backgrounds using MCS Professional and swirled the symbol for happiness using  pink on blue background for the inside and purple on pink for the main outer section of the card.  After adding Flower Soft to the trees and blossom I printed them out and created a different fold - just made it up using the scoreboard - then added the blue sheet as an insert.  The main image is Pyramage from Debbi Moore Oriental cd stacked onto blue sparkly mirri card.  I Cuttlebugged using the new Oriental designs on silver mirri and attached to the left hand side of the card and added pink and silver ribbon.  A pink velvet ribbon tie and a chipboard sentiment from DCWV complete the look ooh and chomped corners too.

EMBOSSING FOR CHRISTMAS

This week's Bah Humbug challenge is to use embossing on your card so here are my two.  The first one consists of some lovely plaid papers and an image of deer from who knows where and some Cuttlebugged mats and layers.  Some added sparkle, a snowflake gem, a peel off snowman (see girls am using them now) and a sentiment to embellish.

On the second card I embossed the lines using my Martha Stewart board then added some silver mirri card embossed with the Cuttlebug holly folder.  The image was stamped and coloured with Promarkers and Copics then overlayed with a lovely acetate frame from QVC.  Red gems, a couple of corners and a sentiment to embellish.

Do I get an award for making two each week then ladies??? lol

Peel Off Christmas Card

Another Christmas card for Bah Humbug challenge this week the topic being to use our 'Peel Offs'.  Yes, like everyone else I have stacks of them and never use them so nice to do so for a change - thanks ladies. I coloured the gold scenic peeloff using Promarkers and Copics then mounted onto a Nestie circle and distressed the edge with Distress Inks.  I Cuttlebugged a piece of white card using Snowflakes and Snow dots, one half embossed the other debossed then distressed using Broken China and Faded Jeans making the top darker than the bottom.  Adding a piece of gold ribbon over the centre and a blue bow I mounted the circle on top.  I chomped the corners and added the gold star and Merry Christmas peel off for embellishment.

Card for Someone Special

Here is my DT card for Crafty Ann's challenge to make something for someone special.  I made this for my sister-in-law who is going through chemo treatment at present and is feeling very tired a lot of the time.  The sentiment is from a Fancy Pants double sided paper sheet and I thought it very appropriate.  I printed out the heart backing paper from Ann and ran it through the Cuttlebug embossing folder and added to the stubby diamond fold card overlaying the sentiment and added some lovely glittered flowers with gem centres.
I took the rose image from Ann's digi images and manipulated it in MCS to lay it over the same backing paper then coloured with Copics and Promarkers.  I added silver Sakura to the edges of the hearts, petals and leaves and cut out the shape with Nestabilities. I added a simple red gem and three pearls for embellishment.

CHRISTMAS CARD WITH STITCHING

Here is my entry for Bah Humbug's Stitching/Faux Stitching challenge this week.  I edged the card using the Cuttlebug stitches embossing border folder then stamped and embosssed in silver holographic using Sheena and Dimension Fourth swirl stamps. The little chipboard bauble (also with faux stiches)  from Brenda Pinnick, was attached with two red brads and some red velvet ribbon.  The Christmas chipboard is from the same set and I just added a Merry Christmas peel off and a green velvet tree for decoration. Hope you like it ladies. One more off the list.

First I stamped the Queen of Hearts, embossed in silver and coloured her with Promarkers attaching her arms with brads that I also coloured red.  The background photograph of heart candies is one I took whilst in Toronto recently at Lawrence Street market,  I cut a couple of paisley Cuttlebug scallops from the same paper and some gold mirri card and added them to the card.  The corner chomper was used to create the heart shaped corners. A couple of chipboard stickers and hey presto the card was done.

Here is my Metal DT card for Crafty Ann's challenge this week.  The gold and silver are sheets of metal embossed using the Cuttlebug embossing folders You and Thanks. The lovely Iris image, one of Ann;s digital images, I printed and coloured using Copic pens and Spica glitter pens.  I added some ribbon, the message sticker and a flower covered in Stickles gold gltiter glues and glitter.  I love this image. Friendship is the essence of life

Here is my DT card for Crafty Ann's challenge this week which is Embossing.  The lilac background paper is one of Ann's star papers run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots.  Over this I placed the lovely frame embossed on blue mirri card - the frame from Crafts Too.  I popped Ann's digital image of the  lily  into MCS added a pink background and a pink frame and printed it out.  The white highlights show up really well in real life.  I added a few pink gems and pink and blue glittered ribbon and a couple of sentiments printed on my Design Runner, which I love.  Do go to Ann's blog , check the DT entries and enter her challenges - you may just win a prize.
