St George's Day

St Georges Day or 23rd April is our Grandson's 8th birthday and here is the card I made for him and also for my challenge this week with the Patriotic theme.

The background for the tag was created using Pan Pastels and I overstamped using some Kanban Time stamps in Black Archival ink.  I distressed the edges and added some threads then attached to a brown pearlised card from Hunkydory I think.
I love the fact that you can cover darker card or tags with the Pan Pastels and they remain true to colour.

One Snowy Morning

My challenge this week is to use ACETATE (with a Christmas theme) on a card together with using a digi  image from ChiChi Memories..... they gave the DT some lovely ones to choose from.... the little person peeping in the window was my choice coloured with Copics. Printed her onto pearlescent paper and guess what the Copics do not bleed through at all.... what a find!!! She was decoupaged too.
The background was created in Craft Artist, the window frame with acetate from Creative Expressions and the acetate holly and star from Crafting Direct... Steph's company. These were moulded using a heat gun to get the dimension and shape.   Oh and the message from Hunkydory. 'Let's Emboss It'

My challenge for the first Thursday in the new month is 'Let's Emboss it'.....so here is my DT card.  I embossed the scalloped card from Hunkydory using the Tim Holtz 'Cracked' Sissix die then ran over it with Distress inks to get the pinky coloured background.  The main image was created using a super La Blanche stamp.... as these stamps are made of silicone you can pour Ultra Thick Embossing liquid.... clear and a touch of gold heated in the Melt Pot.... directly over the stamp and left to cool.
PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS ON RUBBER OR ACRYLIC STAMPS... you could ruin them.....
I then dabbed some Inka Gold wax over the image to get the pink and gold colour then mounted onto the card.  The partial butterfly was made the same way but coloured with pink and purple Inka Gold wax.... I love this stuff it is fabulous and gives some great effects.

My challenge this week is to 'Stamp It' - but is also sponsored by ChiChi Memories who gave some digis to the DT.  The window is the image I chose.... printed out and coloured with Copics, then I added some snowfall acetate from HunkyDory to the inside and mounted it over the stamped image of the cottage by the green.  This stamp from a Sheena Douglass set.

Ice Cream and Ice Cream Colours

Here are the cards I created for my challenge this week which is to use Ice Cream or Ice Cream Colours - I chose to use both.
The background card is from a Hunkydory kit over which is layered the main image. This was created on a piece of chipboard using the new Eco Green paints, Clamshell, Waterfall and Peony.  I painted them on the board then dabbed them over with a plastic bag to get the texture and to mix the paints.  I then stamped with Archival inks the sundaes and messages, both bought in New York at The Ink Pad stamp shop - they are from A Muse  Artstamps Seattle.  I then polished the boards and yes they do look shiny in real life just as Julia said they would.  I love them and am afraid I need more lol. Hope you enjoy your icy treats today.

Have a Scrummy Day

Here is a scrummy little card for a friend of the family - his birthday is on 16th.
I stamped the blue cupcakes using a Dawn Bibby stamp and edged the card using my Martha Stewart scoreboard. The topper is from QVC and the smaller cake, sentiment and beans are from Hunkydory.  I am into cupcakes at the moment so entering this for Cute Card Thursday 'Celebrations' and Creative Card Crew 'Celebrate' challenges and also Ooh La La 'Anything Goes challenge. Also found Gingersnaps Creations have 'Celebrate' too so this is for you too.
