Purple butterfly

A purple chipboard butterfly triple embossed and a lovely purple bow added to some silver DCWV chipboard. This was overstamped in purple Stazon using Judikins splatter and some Tesco corner stamps again.

Fat book pages

For this page I chose some yellow chipboard from DCWV and over stamped with the splatter stamp and some swirls and corner stamps using purple inks. I added the chipboard flower which was triple embossed after colouring with inks. The little embellishment, from some kit or other and an added purple ribbon bow.

Fairy on the flowers

Here is one of the Purple fat book pages made recently for a swap. The white card was stamped using purple Stazon and the fabulous splatter stamp from Judikins. Great for backgrounds. I added a little decoupaged Dufex fairy and some purple ribbon attached with a staple for a change.

Winter Trees

After watching Barbara from Clarity stamps the other week I thought I would give a go to one of her Brayering techniques - here is the result. I brayered onto a white silk glossy card having torn a piece of paper for the hills. I then overstamped the trees, from Stampendous, created the shadows and added some bushes at the front of the card. A little grass effect and three birds (never use even numbers for birds) gives the final touch to this card. Thought this would be good for my entry to Papertake Weekly 'Seasons' challenge too.

FRIENDSHIP

The challenge this week at Cute Daisy May is 'Friendship'. As I live way up North and lots of my friends are down South I speak with them most times on the phone so thought this would be appropriate for my DT card this week. I coloured Daisy May with Promarkers, yes - I still love them, and decoupaged her onto a pink flowered and glittered card and stamped the sentiment from Personal Impressions (which I totally agree with). Here is my take on Frankie's 'Pink, Swirly and Dotty' challenge over at Dragon's Dream Tag challenge. I stamped the lady's face, from Stik n Stamp onto white glossy card, then masked her and stamped around in various pinks using Stamp Addicts dots, Sheena's swirls and Personal Impressions flower and sentiment stamps. I attached, with a pink and silver cord, a piece of stampboard stamped in purple and coloured with pink inks and glitters. The whole card was then sprayed with Gold glitter spray from Crafter's Companion. The card and stampboard are both edged with gold Krylon pen. A lovely challenge my friend.

GREEN, DOTTY AND SWIRLY SKETCH

Here is my DT card for this week's sketch challenge over at Cute Daisy May.

I am not very good with sketches so hope this will be ok. The main image was printed onto canvas and coloured with Promarkers. I added some swirly stamps from Sheena, flowers from Debbie Moore, gem centres from my stash, dotty glitter card from DCWV all mounted onto gold glitter card 8 inches square, with Daisy May mounted onto a green pearlescent opening card.

Postal Christmas Scene

Here is my Postal tag for Dragon's Dream 'Postal' challenge this week.

Thanks Frankie I enjoyed this one. Background created using alcohol inks then overstamped with Sheena's Ivy stamp and embossed with Lava Black and silver embossing powders. The main image stamped and coloured with Lyra's, Stickles and Inktense pens. Peace on Earth postal stamp from Hero Arts postal collection. Hope my friend like this one even though it is an early Christmas card tag lol.

Another Christmas card

Here is the other card made using 'Stamps by Judith' at the Retreat, and here the fir branch is used yet again in a different way. I enjoyed using these stamps - very handy for quick cards.

Season's Greetings

Another little card made on the Stamp Addicts retreat using 'Stamps by Judith'. I loved the branches as you can create all sorts with it as you will see on the next card with the tree. The pine cones and the berries stamps I also had to buy as they will be very versatile. This was made during one of the evening try me sessions.

PATERA NECKLACE

Another tiny work of art created whilst on the Stamp Addicts Retreat last month. I have never tried this before so again something new. The card was spritzed and stamped then inserted into the frame. Liquid Patera was then poured into the frame and set in the oven to created this pretty little charm or necklace.

THREE OF A KIND

Here is my DT card for this week's 'THREE OF A KIND' challenge. I love Jayne's stamps and cds and together with Daisy May they make up a pretty scenic card. Coloured with Promarkers and with some added Stickles glitter glues onto the lovely background sheet, matted and layered and hey presto another Christmas card done. UPDATE ON BOB'S BIKATHON

For thos who contributed to Bob's Charity fund raising effort here is the report from our local magazine telling the story of his wonderful efforts for Charity. So far I have collected almost £50 by selling hand made cards - a very worthwhile cause I think.

Cat in the Window

Again more from the retreat. Lots going on on this card, lots of stamping using Tapestry type stamps, flowers, plantpots and ivy leaves and various blending blox inks to form the background of the white square card. The window frame was painted with acrylic paints and left to dry before attaching to the card after the actual window box had been folded, painted, covered in mossy flower soft type stuff and added to the card. A set of flowers were stamped and coloured onto acetate then cut in a random shape and inserted into the window box to give the effect of them growing there. A cat was stamped on the inside of the card to show through the window. I added the blue shading using a fluffy stippling brush and blending box blue shades. I do like this effect. We also made a box to hold the card - needless to say I cannot scan that - but you all know what a box looks like lol.

Passion from the Heart

Not sure what you will think but I think they are in love. These are stamps from Sheena from the Regency plate - I love them. The background is made with Distress inks and spritzed with water and the stamping in Black Stazon. There is a black ribbon through the hole - not too clear on the scan. The glitter glues do not show terribly well either but look lovely in real life. Hope Frankie will like it over at Dragon's Dream Tag It on Challenge site.

BOB'S BIKATHON

A very good friend of mine Bob MacDougall, the Residential Manager at Inverness Prison (I used to teach there) is doing his annual charity bike ride soon. He will be cycling from Inverness to Ullapool, Stornaway, Harris, North and South Uist, Barra, Oban, Mull, Iona, Camusnagul, Fort William and back to Inverness - total round trip 450 miles - yes, he is totally mad! but very fit to be able to cycle so far in 9 days.
He will travel alone taking everything he needs on the bike which includes sleeping bag, food and cooking equipment.
The funds he raises will go to two very worthwhile charities, the Children's Hospice Association Scotland and Children 1st.
So, I thought I would try to do my bit by asking everyone if they would like to donate a card or cards to me and I will sell them here in the Highlands and the total proceeds will go to Bob's funds.

Decorated Canvas Bag and Acetate Tag

Very cleverly the first item we made on the Stamp Addicts retreat was this canvas bag - great as we now had something to carry all our stuff in lol. We stamped the birds and the flowers onto grungepaper using various stamps and acrylic paints. We then created the trees using stencils and again acrylic paints then added the birds and the flowers and a couple of stamps at the bottom of the bag. We also made a tag using acetate and grungepaper flowers as shown on the top picture . The reason my bag is creased is that due to my overseas trip I had to leave in in the UK to be posted to my home address lol.

Asian Decorated Canvas Panel

Another item created at the Stamp Addicts retreat last month and also my creation for my SCRIPT challeange this week. First the clay was rolled out and stamped into then cut to make the leaf shapes and painted with glitter paints and left to set hard. The canvas was painted with cream paints using two coats, left to dry then overstamped using red inks with the Asian writing stamp. The leaves were then attached together with the lovely flower blooms and a couple of gem stones for the centre of the flowers. Another item I would not have thought of using but I think these would make nice gifts.

Asian Shadow Box

Here is the shadow box I made whilst on the Stamp Addicts retreat last month. First the cream box was painted using black acrylic paints. The various images were stamped onto black card and cut into strips. Various coloured gems, roks and glitters were added to the cut strips which were then attached to the box in a mosaic fashion. The wooden strip was painted silver and attached to the centre of the box and the kimono attached to this strip together with the white tassel. Something new that I had never thought of doing before.

HOT COLOURS

Another DT card for this week's challenge at Cute Daisy May - topic being 'HOT COLOURS'. The background card, glittered and foiled and decoupage are from Create and Craft and I have stamped Daisy May onto canvas this time and coloured using Promarkers. Raised on foam tape this made a simple little card for the challenge. Do pop over and enter this week's challenge and maybe win a download of your choice.
