Here is another Christmas card, this time Victorian for the Bah Humbug 'Vintage' challenge this week. A very simple card this time with backing paper I made myself and printed onto cream parchment paper. To this I added the image mounted on matt gold card, the image from the Meryle Holland Victorian set. I added a couple of gold glitter swirls from QVC and a red and green corner to pick out the red and green in the image. Another one off the list.
Here is a birthday card made for a forum friend which I think fits the bill for Theme Thursday challenge 'Quotes'. The background fairy paper is from Meryle Holland and edged with mauve peel offs onto a mauve pearlescent card. The waterfall base elements are from Michele Marsden and the fairy pictures and quote 'A rustle in the wind reminds us a fairy is near' are also from Meryle.
Wednesday Stamper challenge today was 'Children'. Well, I don't really do cards for children very much, so this was not an easy one for me. However, I stamped the background with a very large stamp covered in words and holly and baubles. I used different colours for each section applying the ink with Dauber Duos. The image is one of Meryle's matted on gold mirri card with a red ribbon added.
Gothic Arches challenge this week was places so here is my entry on London.
I created this for a friend's 55th birthday next week. The background and toppers are from Meryle Holland 'Do You Remember' set and as they are printed on adhesive paper it makes life very easy. They are simply mounted on foam tape. James Dean, milk shakes, Rock 'n Roll, juke boxes, vinyl records, cars and coffee shops - I remember them all too well.
Today's challenge from Think Monday Think ATC was to create something using 'Metal Art'. The backgrounds here were created using the Snowflakes and Spots and Blooms Cuttlebug Embossing folders on red and blue metal foil.
Yes I'm back from hols at last and here are a couple of Oriental ATC's for the Craft Cow Swap. The atc's were covered with green Oriental paper, then embellished with Oriental postcards, Lighthouse and Pagoda, gold peeloffs and oriental ribbons . The top layer is acetate attached with dragonfly brads. The messages are from Meryle's Tuliptoppers Oriental range.
Brown is a colour I do not do - not in clothes, in the house or in cardmaking, so this was a hard challenge for me. Creative Ideas on Sunday came up with the idea, so sorry if this looks a little more on the orangey side rather than really brown, it was the best I could find. The brown and blue spotted card is attached with brown brads and the 'It's the 60's relax' topper is from Tuliptoppers 'Do you remember' series. The coppery brown birthday wishes accent completes this card.
The Daring Cardmakers little extra this week is 'find your inspiration in the 60's'. That was a good time for me. The 60's background paper is from Tuliptoppers 'Do you remember' series and shows the late President Kennedy, Ban the bomb, Mini cars, Twiggy, The Beatles, scooters amongst other topics of the time. The flowery diamond is swinging on a pink and silver thread and the 60's bus, car and scooter are also from Tuliptoppers. The mauve card is edged with mauve and gold peeloffs. I loved this dare.
Here are four Oriental ATC's. Two (thought I may as well do four) of these were done for a Wendie Rhodes challenge swap which had to include '3 little things' by using something green, something metal and ribbon. The green background paper is from a kimono making kit, the images are from Meryle's Tuliptoppers range and the postcards from a QVC oriental collection. Ribbon, metal coins and brads have been added for the other 2 things plus an odd green flower and gold peel offs. I have covered two with acetate for a different look and added a greeting.
