Hand Made Flowers

Posted by Picasa
My challenge this week is to make some hand made flowers.... a very popular topic at the moment. So my lovely friend Caroline gave the DT some digi images to work with and here is mine.  I printed out all the petals on vellum..... gorgeous as you can tell.... then put the flower together.  I had planned to use it on a card but decided as I had printed it out very large to use it for a table setting centrepiece.  I could stand a tea light in the middle.... an electronic one of course.
Hope you like it Caroline.
Please do pop over to my blog... you could win some digis with your entry too.

Back to Black

'Back to Black' is this week's challenge set by Hels at 'Ink on my Fingers'.....in tribute to Amy Winehouse who sadly died on Saturday.
I have not done Hels challenge for a while but this one inspired me after the tragic  events this weekend.
I started with a black Coredinations card run through the Cuttlebug and sanded down to show the orange lining.  I embossed a piece of brown shiny card.... yes really - me who never uses brown, and cut the corners with my chomper.  The card split slightly in the bug but I rather liked the effect it gave me. I stamped the guitar and punched out the scalloped oval and overstamped with text and distressed using Vintage Photo and Pumice Stone distress inks. I mounted this on the base card and added the brown card on top.  I added a little music notes sticker next to the guitar.  I stamped the message 'Love Endures All things' from Docrafts, in black and used the same distress inks to add some swirls and distressing.  The clock face I found in my stash again distressed.  The lady in the frame, from Stamp Addicts, was stamped onto Mica Tiles with some added silver flakes under her face... she is looking down from above with the wings and clock face sticker.  My umbrella man from Tim Holtz, Cuttlebugged with the Time folder, is holding his umbrella to catch the tears.... little expoxy bubbles.  I added a couple of chipboard glitter flowers and swirl then the butterfly.  This signifies floating up to heaven to me where I hope Amy will be at peace at last.  An extra love sticker completes what I hope you will think is a fitting tribute to the very talented Amy. So very sad.

Pets

Posted by PicasaStampndoodle are one of my favourite digi image companies... they do some superb images and they are sponsoring my challenge this week... topic being Pets.
For my DT card this week I used Craft Artist to create the main beach scene..... adding some extra colour with Copics and Promarkers. Yes Craft Artist yet again to the rescue.
The two dogs are images from Stampndoodle kindly given to the DT to use for the challenge.  As soon as I saw them I knew I wanted them running on the sand.... strange really as there was a cat image and I am very much a cat person..... but these two just appealed to me today.  They are coloured again with Promarkers and decoupaged onto the scene.  The message reads 'Summer Breeze, Make me feel fine'....... part of a song - very appropriate for the scene I think.
I hope you will enjoy this weeks challenge... the thought of winning images from Stampndoodle would certainly make me enter.

A Stitch in Time

Posted by Picasa
This week my challenge, which is sponsored by ChiChi Memories is entitled 'A stitch in time'.  Now as most folks that know me know I don't do much stitching..... so why did I create this topic you ask???.... well lots of people do enjoy it so I made an effort and here is my DT card.
I created the main background in Craft Artist (I am enjoying playing with this cd program) and added the Mum and daughter from ChiChi.  They are coloured with Promarkers and decoupaged onto the main card.  The top two bows are also decoupaged.  I added lots of decoupaged and wooden parcels at the foot of the tree and added the sparkly 'just for you' chipboard button.
The red backing paper is created to look like pinking shears have been at it as is the green paper too.  I added the two wooden mittens which are stitched together using red and green glittery thread.... there you see stitching after all..... lol.
I hope you like my card... another off the list for later in the year.
Please do poop over and enter the challenge - you could win some lovely digi images.

The Age of Chivalry

Posted by Picasa'He who returns from a Journey is NOT the same as he who left' - that is my quote for the day and also the message on my Tag.
I don't enter very often but Dragon TIO has asked us to dream of 'The Age of Chivalry' this week so here is my interpretation.

Lord Geoffrium of York is going away to the Crusades wearing his Lady Cynthius of Halifax favour on his lance for all the world to see.

The stamp is one I bought ages ago from the Stamp Barn and have never used ... I love their stamps - so this challenge was a good chance to use it.

I created the background using Tim Holtz Distress stains in Faded Jeans and Dusty Concord then oversprayed with purple and blue Mica mists.  I stamped the Knight and embossed him with Cosmic Shimmer black/red embossing powder then added some trees and swirls.  I overstamped and embossed the trees in the same powder and it really sparkles in real life.
I added the sentiment from Rubber Stampede then made the favour from purple and white ribbon and attached with a pink C brad and a pink staple. Of course it had to be purple didn't it???
I do hope he returns soon safely of course..... he he he comes back on the 26th July actually getting here on the 27th.
I hope you like my tag, thanks for looking xx

IN THE COUNTRY

Here is my DT card for my challenge this week 'In the Country' and it also works for our grand-daughter's 3rd birthday card.
The images are from the Crafter's Companion  Beatrix Potter cd .... I love Mrs Tiggywinkle...hope Erin will too.
Although the card looks flat it is actually a box type card with the apertures cut out out and overlayed with acetate and decoupaged images below.
I added some gems round the aperture and some gold ribbon at the side.
That is it.... I didn't want to add anything else.
I hope you like it and also hope you will give my challenge a go this week.... a Joanna Sheen voucher is up for grabs as always the first Thursday in the new month.
Have fun and good luck x
