Here are a few bits I have been working on this week. I have been playing with Angelina fancy fibres and fancy film and created the stunning background piece by adding some gold metal flakes to the mix of fibres and films. The two masks and the heart are also from the films and fibres.  The other creations were made using mica pieces with embossing powder sandwiched between the two pieces heated then overstamped with Stazon. In real life they do look super even though I say so myself.... don't want to give these away lol. A technique I learned from Sarah Lawrence of Crafty Notions - thanks Sarah.

Butterfly Phone Charm

A little phone charm created using the black clay and cookie cutters and the Clay Squishers dabbed over with Silver Metallic Stazon.

Clay Squishers

Some lovely new Clay Squisher plates by Judy Kins are now available from Stamp Addicts and we were amongst the first to try them out.  There are 6 designes per plate - in this case four were inked then the card placed over the top to get the impression.  This was mounted on black card onto the white creased card.  The black clay circle in the centre was made using black clay pressed into the squisher then run over with the silver Metallic Stazon ink pad.  The butterfly was created the same way and cut out using a little cookie cutter then highlighted with silver again and mounted onto the card. These squishers are very useful and can be used in many different ways with or without clay - nice.

A recycling challenge

 Over Christmas we all seem to accumulate lots of packaging and boxes so I thought this week my challenge would be RECYCLING.  I had some lovely purple (of course) socks bought which were in little cupcakes stuck into this wrapper and I thought hmmm I can use this in my cardmaking rather than throw it away.  So here is the result.  I simply created a gradient background paper in MCS then stamped with purple Stazon using some Asian characters from Hero Arts.   I added a couple of Asian sticker ladies and a good luck sticker which I coloured with the Stazon.  As you may be able to see from the bottom of the card it will stand up by folding the bottom back (if you see what I mean).

Purple butterfly

A purple chipboard butterfly triple embossed and a lovely purple bow added to some silver DCWV chipboard. This was overstamped in purple Stazon using Judikins splatter and some Tesco corner stamps again.

Fat book pages

For this page I chose some yellow chipboard from DCWV and over stamped with the splatter stamp and some swirls and corner stamps using purple inks. I added the chipboard flower which was triple embossed after colouring with inks. The little embellishment, from some kit or other and an added purple ribbon bow.

Fairy on the flowers

Here is one of the Purple fat book pages made recently for a swap. The white card was stamped using purple Stazon and the fabulous splatter stamp from Judikins. Great for backgrounds. I added a little decoupaged Dufex fairy and some purple ribbon attached with a staple for a change.

Oriental lady and sun

The main background used the circles Cuttlebug folder then overswiped with distress inks. The other backgrounds are again alcohol inks with added droplets of colour overstamped with the lady and the sun stamps in Stazon. I added a jewel and some of the new Cosmic shimmer glitter glues in just a couple of places on the overstamped swirls.

Cats and Owls - another page

Another fat book page using Lindsay Mason's Owl and Inkadinkadoo Cat face stamp. The main page background was run through the Cuttlebug embossing folder then brayered with brown and green inks. For the green background for the cat I used alcohol inks and shimmer sprays then overstamped the lovely cat face in black Stazon. The same for the owl background using different blues and a little brown and I added some yellow eyes for one of the owls. Some of the cat faces are raised and one owl is also raised.

FAT BOOK PAGES

Over the next few days I will be showing some of the fat book pages I have just spent time creating (which is why I have not been posting much lately, I had 10 to make lol). These are the first ones I have done for a swap on my forum so do hope the ladies like them. For those who do not know a fat book page is 4 inches by 4 inches square and when all swaps are received they can be assembled and made into a book using the Bind it All or simple large jump rings.

For this first one I sprayed some card with alcohol inks and Cosmic Shimmer sprays then ran the card thru the Cuttlebug embossing folder and over inked the raised sections. I then brayered some paper with the Big and Juicy ink pads and over stamped the face and eyes in black Stazon. After tearing the edges I attached to the page adding just one tear drop gemstone to the face.

I am using this for my challenge blog this week the challenge being EYES. Do pop over and enter if you have chance.

B is for Blossom

My lovely friend Frankie has started up her new Tag it on challenge blog Dragon's Dream and the first challenge is Blossoms. The B stamp is from Glenda's Elusive Images stamped in brown Stazon (a change from black) onto a brown tag which I have edged in pink inks. The decoupaged wheelbarrow with flowers is from a Crafter's Delight book and I have added a pink flower brad and a brown and white spotted ribbon to complete the tag.

Happy Easter

Another Easter card this time for

Stamp Something Happy Easter challenge.

Joanna's chicks stamped onto white card with black Stazon then coloured using watercolours with some added stones and grasses from Stampscapes. I oversprayed the whole card with Sara's glitter spray then mounted on brown card onto a double sided card from K and Co. with just an added clear sticker greeting to finish off.

Is that our egg???

A cute Easter card for the Dutch Dare challenge this week showing the back and front of the card using ARt Impressions stamps. Stamped in black Stazon and coloured with watercolours then sprayed with some of Sara's new glitter sprays with an added Easter Greeting sticker. Simple , quick and easy to do.

Green and Yellow

Two cards made for the new Simon Says 'Green and Yellow' challenge today. The first is one of the Limited Edition doll stamps attached over a Cuttlebugged background using brads to attach the moving arms. Coloured with Sakura pens and edged with sticky ribbons. The second background on the Gothic Arch was created using Alcohol Inks and overstamped with black Stazon. I attached the acetate butterfly with a brad and added a coin and a vellum quote. I am in a green and yellow mood today hence two cards. The hula dancer first card is also my card for the My Time to Craft challenge 'Island fun'.

BALLOONS

Here is a card I made for a Turquoise, Lemon and Pink swap and also for my Balloons challenge this week. I used some torn lemon paper over turquoise for the base and sky then overstamped using a Lavinia stamp (new from NEC) and a few grasses from Sheena. The main balloon stamp from Inca stamps was stamped and coloured with pink and green Lyras then cut out and glitter glue added for the sparkle effect. Mounted on bright pink mirri card onto a pink pearlised card. I stamped some butterflies in teal Stazon and again added glitter glue. I also added a trail of stars from Crafters Companion in teal with glitters. A little turquoise rick rack ribbon to finish off. I hope my friend likes it.

Bird on a branch

Bird on a branch not a 'Bird in the hand' for Tanda Teaser this week, but hope you will accept this one. A little tag one of a set I made a while ago. I cut the tag out using decorative scissors and stamped the owl in Stazon. I sprayed with some Glimmer mists and added some Stickles glitter glue together with a green stripey ribbon. A different shaped tag.

Four Pretty Faces

Two challenges covered with this card tonight, they are Crazy Amigo 'Faces' and Lots to Do Sunday 'Eyes'. I created the background using glues and different coloured peices of foil all mingled together to give a nice raised effect. Then I overstamped the four faces using black Stazon, the stamp from Magenta. Very simple but I hope effective. Step Outside Your Box has 'Eyes' as the theme this week too.

A Colourful Mardi Gras Postcard

OOh I love this 'Mardi Gras' theme from Sunday Postcard Art, the 'Bright Colour' theme from Crazy Amigo and the 'Shiny' theme from Wednesday Stamper. First I stamped onto glossy card using Teal Stazon with another mask stamp, this time from Dimension Fourth. I cut out the eyes and added two gold shiny cuttlebugged eyes for the top mask and straight gold shiny eyes for the bottom mask. Then the fun started. I dabbed pink and blue inks all over the card with a sponge, not cut and dry as this would have made it too smooth, then I sprayed with Delphinium and Fireburst Blue from Crafty Notions Colour Sprays. I left it overnight to dry not really knowing what colours it would end up but I love it now. I dabbed the same blue inks onto the stampboard, edged with gold pentouch and overstamped with a small mask stamp from Stamp Addicts. This was then covered with Crackle Glaze and again left and here is the final result.

Mardi Gras

The challenge this week at Gothic Arches was 'Mardi Gras' - a topic that I love as I have a great collection of masks. This card uses my new mask stamp from Stamp Addicts and a smaller 4 masked cube from them too. The arch background was created using alcohol inks of various shades swooshed over glossy card. I then overstamped in black the smaller masks and added Stickles glitter glue. For the large mask I stamped using the resist technique and brayered with the Waterfall Big and Juicy ink pad. The eyes were from another piece of varying coloured ink cards. I added glitter glue in gold and clear, the black mask and two feathers and edged with gold Pentouch. I always had hoped when we lived overseas that I would get to New Orleans at Mardi Gras - never made it - but I can live in hope. Just realized that this fits DCM 'Green' challenge too.

Framed Tree

Here is a little framed picture I made today, why? - I don't really know except that I took a fancy to doing this. Sadly the scan lights and the acetate don't do it justice as it looks a little cloudy but in real life it is not.

The background was made using alcohol inks dragged over to create stripes then the tree from Stamp Addicts overstamped in black Stazon. I covered the picture in acetate then added the frame which was from one of Michele Marsden's kits.
