Colour Challenge DT card

Posted by PicasaHere is my DT card for Crafty Ann's Colour Challenge to use any colours except red and green. I took the lovely digi image of the daffodils (you can find it on Ann's web site) and popped it into MCS Die Cut Studio, changed the colours added the graduation then printed and pyramaged it adding a couple of scalloped layers in similar colours. The background papers are also from Ann's website so I added a couple of different coloured torn papers and just added the epoxy stickers for embellishment.
You could win some of Ann's lovely images and papers if you enter her challenge this week so go ahead - give it a go and enjoy the challenge.

A Proud Highland Stag

Posted by PicasaThis is the fourth project from the workshop created in exactly the same way as the previous card - only this time I added much more gold glitter which of course is not too visible on the scan.  I added a few white highlights for shading too.

Bambrugh Castle

Posted by Picasa Here is another of the projects made on Sheena's workshop on Sunday.
Very different this one as we used furniture polish!!! yes really.
The image was stamped and embossed on heat resistant acetate then the back covered in the clear furniture polish.  (this technique can be done using  other sticky products but furniture polish is sooo much cheaper) We then added splodges of mica polished pigments - and I really mean splodges  no order whatsoever and I added a little glitter too, then placed a tissue over the top.  When dry the polish had allowed the tissue to attach itself in a nice crumpled way giving this effect. After adding a few white highlights with a white opaque pen it was then simply mounted on gold mirri card on a black card. Hope you like it. Sadly we don't have this clear polish up here so I will have to get some when down in England over the holidays.

Second workshop project

Posted by PicasaA nice messy work of art here. The background is actually on a white card swirled with Distress inks then overstamped with water on the stamps to remove colour instead of add it. The trees were then overstamped with Black Archival inks over the top of the faded image and highlighted with white pen and Cosmic Shimmer glitter glues. The moon was created in the same way and again highlighted with white and sparkles. The whole background was then sprayed with water adding droplets then removing with a soft towel to get the snowy effects. The swirl was stamped and embossed with silver then the edges rubbed with Black Soot Distress ink to create the vingette look. This still needs matting and layering to make a complete card. I love the effects created this way.

Notebook Cover

Posted by PicasaHere is my first creation from Sheena's workshop yesterday which is actually a notebook cover.
Stamped with Sheena's Christmas stamps using Distress inks and some Stickles glitter glues this is a simple way to give a nice little gift to someone without spending too much cash. A little bit of scenemaking happened here too.

MICA POWDERS

Posted by PicasaHere is my card for my challenge this week - to use MICA POWDERS on your card. The cards used are from a DCWV stack. I overstamped trees and leaves with Perfect Medium then swirled with various shades of Mica powders. I stamped the Clarity deer stamp onto stampboard again with perfect medium and covered with Micas - I added a little shading to the large deer's back (which actually looks good in life but not so good on the scan sorry). The cards were cut with corner edger scissors and mounted onto a green card. I added the sticker from a kit, again on mica-ed card with a couple of gold photo corners.

Winter Wonderland

Posted by PicasaHurrah you say - yes the final two fat book pages done for a Winter Wonderland swap and also for Stamp Something's 'Winter Wonderland' challenge this week. I really enjoyed playing with these using the Cuttlebug folders, sprays and also some overinking on these two as well as the stamping and colouring of the scenic stamps. That's it for fat books for this year.

WINTER WONDERLAND FAT BOOK PAGES

Posted by Picasa A couple of fat book pages for a swap on my forum here. The main coloured chipboard bases were first run through the Cuttlebug embossing folders then oversprayed with Cosmic Shimmer and Crafter's Companion glitter sprays. The images were stamped and coloured with Promarkers and watercolours then also oversprayed. I added a couple of epoxy stickers for the final embellishment.

A Touchy Feely challenge

Posted by Picasa Here is my DT card for Crafty Ann's challenge this week - 'Touchy Feely' - with lots of texture. Ann's lovely squirrel digi image was printed and embossed with the new wonderful Meltdust after changing the colour on the computer to sepia. I printed the frame (also Ann's digi image) after changing the colour to orange, cut out the aperture and inserted the squirrel. I added acetate flower and leaf peeloffs and decoupaged them, then coloured the frame flowers using Copic Markers (my new additions from the NEC). I added lots of Stickles glitter glues - sorry you can't really see them very well on the scan for extra texture.
Do pop to Ann's blog and enter her challenge - you don't have to use her digi images - and you may win a prize.

ANOTHER CHRISTMAS CARD CHALLENGE

Posted by Picasa Here is the card I made for my challenge this week which was to use A CHRISTMAS CAROL with a twist - on a black background. My card is very plain and simple 'Away in a Manger' - stamped using the circular JUST RITE message and a Clarity stamp of the Manger scene both stamped in black and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Lava Black embossing powder which has a slight red tinge.
I simply mounted onto silver mirri card, cut the edges with corner scissors and added a black ribbon bow. I did not think it needed anything else.

NEW DT CHALLENGE

Posted by Picasa Here is my first DT card for Crafty Ann's new challenge blog. The topic is CELEBRATION so I have chosen Christmas for my card. Using the lovely beach scene digi image I coloured it with chalks and Promarkers then mounted onto green pearlized card which already has trees embossed on it. I added a few red bows and a Santa sticker - flying over the sea and sky in his sleigh.
You see Santa does arrive in hot climates just as he does here in the cold.
I hope you will join in this great new challenge spot and maybe win a prize or two. You don't have to use Ann's images to play either.
Do join in and celebrate with Ann and the other DT members. Enjoy.

Russian Doll Wordbook

Posted by PicasaHere is my card for my friend Frankie's birthday today.
No pink or purple to be seen as she is not a fan of those colours lol so I used reds and yellows to colour in the lovely Russian Doll stamped images from Hero Arts. The book pages have been Cuttlebugged on brown pearlised card then oversprayed with gold glitter spray from Crafter's Companion.
Do hope she will like it.
We go on our Big Adventure today for two weeks so will be back on our return.

Baby Card for Daisy May

Posted by PicasaAs most people who know me in real life already know 'I don't do babies' so making this card was really difficult for me. I decided on an actual person and used the photo of my Grand-daughter Erin Kate, manipulated it in Kaleidescope Creator and added the cute dog and cat from Daisy May (coloured with Promarkers). The topic is as you may by now have guessed is 'New Baby' so do pop over to Daisy May and enter this week's challenge - you could win a lovely download of your choice and you don't have to use Daisy May to enter. Well my card was not liked by someone on the DT so was not posted on their blog this week. Never mind - I hope you like it and I am sure my little Erin will.

Pink and Yellow for Daisy May

Posted by PicasaHere is my DT entry for this week's challenge over at Cute Daisy May - 'Pink and ?' as you can see my other colour is yellow. You don't have to use Daisy May images to enter so for a change I have made my card using a My Craft Studio cd. I created the background on some shaded pink and yellow card and overprinted the pink swirls. The lady was printed twice and decoupaged and I just added a pink flower with pink gem brad and a little glass lookie like sentiment for decoration. I also cut the corners with the corner rounder from We Are Memory Keepers. Do pop over and enter the challenge and maybe win a download of your choice and have fun.

Daisy May Thank You card

Posted by PicasaThe challenge this week over at Daisy May is to make a 'Thank You' card so here is mine. I have stamped the pub image from Sheena Douglass together with the pub thank you sign and coloured using various pens and inks and added a tree stamp from Hobby Art in the left hand corner. I printed out Daisy May onto shrink plastic, coloured her with Sakura pens and added her to the picture - I felt the tree stamp matched with the tree on the Daisy May image nicely. Do try to enter this week's challenge - you may win a download of your choice and it is good fun. Enjoy the challenge.

Blue and Green Daisy May

Posted by PicasaHere is my meagre effort for Cute Daisy May DT this week. Due to being overseas and not having all my crafty stuff here yet this one is very simply done. 'Blue and Green' was the challenge - do pop over and join in the fun - you don't have to use Daisy May to play.

65th Birthday Word Book

Posted by Picasa My musician friend John will be 65 next week so I made him a musical word book using guitars and piano, he plays both, record icons which he will remember well - as I do, together with snooker balls - he loves the game and a picture of old men playing dominoes tee hee lol. These icons are from a QVC Kanban male kit and the book itself from Funky Hand Word Books cd. I just added ribbon and glitter glue to define the letters, not too clear on the scan of course.

The Word for Ali

Posted by PicasaHere is my DT card for this week's Cute Daisy May 'WORD' challenge and also a birthday card for my forum friend ALI. I know she will probably see this here before she receives it but I had to post today as we fly away on Tuesday - sorry Ali.
I will be back posting as soon as we have internet access over the waters.
Till then take care all and love and hugs all round xx

Floral Fantasy

Posted by PicasaThis is my DT card for Cute Daisy May 'Floral Fantasy' challenge this week. I love the new fairy images - this one especially. I coloured her using Promarkers again and added the mandatory Stickles glitter glue - well you could not have a fairy without glitter now could you? lol. The background card is cut from a Create and Craft kit and I added the little Daisy May shrinkie floating in the flowers too. The stamp is from Dimension Fourth. Do pop over and check out Daisy May's blog and see the fab entries by the DT and the guests as well - you don't have to use Daisy May to enter.

Astoria Beach

Posted by PicasaThe challenge this week from My Time to Craft is to use 'Forgotten or Neglected Stash'. I am always forgetting to use this great stamp from Rubber Stampede which is ideal for men's cards so here it is in use again. Thanks Wendy. Stamped in brown and layered onto brown and gold mats then mounted over the card stamped in green with the world map.

Frog on a Bike

Posted by PicasaHere is the card I made for my dear husband's 60th birthday last week and also my entry for Created by Hand 'Animals or Pets' challenge. The frog was stamped (and sent to me by a blogging friend) and embossed all over using green sparkle embossing powder then cut out and mounted onto a cream card. I then added a hand made corner using silver Metal Magic and a corner stamp from Tesco, a peel off 60 and stamped Happy Birthday.

Get well soon Nicola

Posted by Picasa My dear friend Nicola has had an operation and will be out of action for around six weeks and needs to RELAX - hence the sentiment on this card. The topper is one I created for my DT entry for Cute Daisy May - a little shrinkie Daisy May amongst the Cuttlebugged coredinations swirls and the Debbi Moore flowers. The sentiment is from DCWV I think. Get well soon my friend and do as the docs have ordered and relax. xx I am also entering this for
Crazy Amigo 'Free' theme this week.
