Babies

Posted by Picasa Everyone knows I don't do babies so why are they all choosing them for their challenges this week? lol. However, we are expecting our second grandchild in July so made one for each - girl and boy, so won't have to make one when the time comes.
Scrummy Stash Cafe and My Time to Craft challenges are both 'Babies' but as I don't have any stamps had to make do with decoupage, mounted on background papers with ribbon and message embellisments. You may choose which one is your challenge card.

Tilda Remembers

Posted by Picasa Yet another new stamp from Joanna arrived so I just had to use it didn't I? This is for TGIF 'Acetate', Sunday Stampers 'Words' and Papertake Weekly 'Elegant Embossing' challenges. The striped background paper was made using Starburst Stains and the scrunch technique and layered onto a blue pearl card.
I added some sticky ribbons and a piece of acetate which I ran through a Cuttlebug embossing folder and inked with pink ink. Tilda is stamped and coloured in Sakura pens and chalks with distressed edges. I added the acetate word with a gold brad.

You Make My Day Award

The lovely SammieJay has given me this award today and I am so delighted - thank you Sammie.
I now just have to decide who to give it to next. I will have a little think and be back later.

Say It With Flowers

Posted by Picasa The card I share here was made using Joanna's floral cd for 4 x 4 Friday 'Floral' challenge. Printed onto pearlized paper the wonderful pink background is layered onto a pink pearl card. The two floral images, printed on watercolour paper are layered onto silver mirri card, with a sticky ribboned edge and a pink bow.

Floral Embossing

Posted by Picasa Well, tried a new technique here printing out the image from Joanna's 'Say it with Flowers'cd onto Crafty Computer embossing paper. Then sprinkled the paper with clear embossing powder and heat embossed twice. Mmm not too sure about this yet, this was the first attempt. Created for Saturday Workout 'Embossing' challenge, I ran the background white card through the Cuttlebug Paisley folder, covered with clear embossing powder then coloured with direct to paper inks. Coloured the actual card direct to paper with Tattered Rose Distress ink then added the sentiment and a few flowers and jewels.

Dotty Distressed Tilda

Posted by Picasa A couple of challenges covered here for DCM 'Distressed' and Tilda and Friends 'Dotty'. The wonderful pink and black paper is from Glenda, layered onto a torn card then edged with Tattered Rose Distress inks. The sticky ribbon is from an Oriental set and the main Tilda image stamped and coloured in Cosmic Shimmers and chalks, the edges again distressed using the same inks. I added the pink dotty ribbon, the dots on the dress and the sentiments with black notes for embellishment.

Tutti Frutti Fruit

Posted by Picasa This is my entry for My Time to Craft 'Tutti Frutti Fruit' and TGIF 'Monogram' challenges. The background paper is from Chris Warner's 'With Men in Mind' cd and the wonderful image is a Stamps Happen stamp called White Wine Bottles. This image is so very complicated it took me a while to paint it with Cosmic Shimmers, there are lots of tiny pieces to paint. I simply layered it on gold mirri card and added the sentiment. Sorry about the shadow from the raised C when it was scanned.

Go Green

Posted by Picasa 'Go Green' was the message from Created By Hand so here is my creation. The green card was overstamped in green ink with various trees. The main card background was created using alcohol inks on glossy card and overstamped with Stamp Addicts large trees in black Stazon and the small trees in green Stazon. I have added some sparkle with Sakura to the tops of the small trees.

Copper Bees, Butterflies and Ladybirds

Posted by Picasa A couple of challenges covered here, DCM extra 'Copper, Wool or 7th Anniversary', Wednesday Stamper 'Insects' and Arty Girlz 'Handmade Backgrounds'. I found a piece of copper foil and ran it through the Cuttlebug flower embossing folder then attached it to a piece of copper metallic card on a cream pearlized card. I created the copper and caramel alcohol inks background and randomly stamped bees, butterflies and ladybirds and attached this over the copper foil. A couple of wooden insects and a yellow flower with the bee sitting on top for embellishments.

Extra Special Graduation

Posted by Picasa The challenge at Tanda Teaser was to make an 'extra special card', and this is certainly that. Our niece, a mature student graduated last year with an Occupational Therapy Degree and this is her card. The image, from who knows where, I made into the background paper with the larger image layered on top. The mortar board was hand made and I added a blue tassel as a special treat for Lisa.

Black, White and Pink

Posted by Picasa Black, white and pink was the challenge from Caardvarks this week. A very simply constructed gatefold card using black and white flowered card, black inside, and a black and white image both from my Kanban box. I have used pink chalks to colour the coat and a lighter pink for the skintones.

Mermaids

Posted by Picasa I share a lovely challenge today - Mermaids for TMTA. This is from a kit I bought a long time ago from Debbie Williams and I have only made one card using it, so here is my atc. The lovely sea and rocky vellum background was layered onto a white and silver edged card, then the mermaids were decoupaged with about four layers and added over the vellum. Simple but effective.

Feather Hat

Posted by Picasa This card that I share today was made for a card swap, which, alas seems to have gone missing in the mail. From Joanna's Fashion Boutique cd, I have simply layered the images onto the coordinating background to form the pyramage card. This is my entry for the 'Hats' challenge at Mixed Media Monday.

Girly and Blue

Posted by Picasa A wintery card for Tilda and Co 'Girly and Blue 'challenge using another of my new Tilda stamps. She is stamped in Stazon and coloured in a mixture of Cosmic shimmers and chalks. Her coat is covered with Blue Rainbow Glaze layered quite thickly to get some texture.

Wet and Windy Tilda

Posted by Picasa A chance to use my new Tilda stamp here for Tilda and Friends 'Wet and Windy' challenge. Stamped in Stazon and coloured in Cosmic shimmers, Sakura pens and chalks with the grass tufts, flowers and sky also in chalks.

Glittered Doll

Posted by Picasa Sorry, another Christmas card but just love this Winter Dancing Doll stamp and the challenge at Crazy Amigo this week was 'Dolls' so I had to use her. Stamped in black Stazon and coloured with Marvy Pens and glittered, her arms move with the gold brads so you can place them anywhere you wish. Mounted onto starry vellum she can also be my entry for Papertake Weekly 'Glitter' and Sunday Stampers 'Faces' challenges. Also, she is going as an early entry to Fab's Christmas challenge site too.

Distressed Hot and Spicy Abstract

Posted by Picasa This is definitely a very strange card for Saturday Workout 'Distressed' challenge and also Step Outside Your Box 'Abstract' and DCM 'Hot and Spicy' challenges. The background consists of Joanna's Lace paper in black and orange, some orange shiny multicoloured paper and some yellow textured papers all run through two Cuttlebug embossing folders, Paisley and Spots and Dots, to create texture, layered onto a black card. The orange central card is edged with two distress inks and the feather stamped with Tattered Rose distress ink. A red ribbon and heart and some sticky ribbons and buttons completes the look - without a focal point to make an abstract card.

Ribboned Fan

Posted by Picasa This gorgeous image from Joanna's cd helped me make this card for Arty Girlz 'Ribbons' challenge. Over the pink background paper is a silver card embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and the lovely fan image layered on top. Embellished with a dragonfly brad, silver peeloffs and pink ribbon.

Flourish and Striped Circus card

Posted by Picasa I added the tag from the previous challenge to this card for the
Theme Thursday 'Stripes' and 4 x 4 Friday 'Circus' challenges. I have edged the green card with pink and green inks direct to paper and added some stamped flourishes with pink ink for the background. The tag and the added striped button sticker complete the look.

Circus Tag

Posted by Picasa Today's challenge at Tag You're It was to make a tag 'No Stamps Allowed' so here is my effort. The images are from Crafty Image Emporium CD and are all circus views. The pink tag is sponged with pink and green inks direct to paper with the images attached in random fashion. I added the pink and green spotted ribbon for effect. I am now going to add this to a card which I am making for a circus challenge.

Frame that Lady

Posted by Picasa I was late with my entry last week so tried to get in early this week for My Time to Craft 'Framed' challenge. Onto a cream pearlescent card I layered some orange fan paper and a white card which had been put through the Tattered Rose Distressed inked Cuttlebug script folder. I created the orange backgound with various alcohol inks then stamped randomly over it with an Oriental script and flower stamp adding the lady in black Stazon. I framed the lady and overstamped again with script. I added the gold butterfly, ribbon and coin for luck.

Collage de Paris

Posted by Picasa The challenge today at Gothic Arches was 'We'll Always Have Paris' so here is my collage. The stamps are an assortment of clear France stamps and the background I created using various alcohol inks swirled over glossy card.

Polka Dot Tags

Posted by Picasa Just found this new challenge site called Tag You're It and their challenge is to use 'Polka Dots' on our tags, so here are mine. The base tags are from Lisa Bearnson but I have added stickers and ribbons to embellish them. I have found yet another challenge site in Take Part, Make Art and their challenge is Polka Dots too.

In Stitches

Posted by Picasa Oh, I am so late with the card for My Time To Craft 'Stitches' challenge. The base card, circles and faux stitching band are from Lisa Bearnson and I have added three flowers with central gems and the message sticker. A very quick card today as trying to get it in before the new challenge later today.
