Six in One Tonight

Posted by PicasaLast year I managed to do six challenges at the same time and I have managed to equal my own record again tonight. Lots To Do challenge was 'Metal', My Time To Craft was 'Gold', Arty Girlz was 'Flowers',
Created By Hand was 'Gold', Tanda Teaser was 'Hearts and Flowers' and Wednesday Stamper was to use 'Hearts in a Different Way'.
I stamped various floral and swirl images onto white glossy card, floral from Sheena and Swirls from Dimension Fourth and the magazine freebie last week.
I then covered the card with Caramel and Butterscotch Alcohol inks swirling and swooshing on the card. Next, I punched out some gold metal hearts and attached them over the flowers and added a gold gem in the centre. I then edged the corners and embossed a few lines and added some copper pen touch to some of the swirls. Whew that was a job. I could have made it 7 in one as Joanna's challenge this week was also 'hearts' but I had already posted a card for that so thought it would be cheating to count this one in as well lol

Transparent Bodice

Posted by Picasa I thought I had better make a card for my own 'Peel Offs' challenge this week, set by Hazel, but this one also fits with Arty Girlz 'Transparent' challenge set by Fabrizio.
I used some black core-dinations card and ran it through the Cuttlebug then sanded it down to get the pink to show through. I also tore the edges then mounted onto a black gate fold card. I added the silver transparent bodice peel off onto pink flowered card (not easy to see on the scan) and added pink gems, together with shoe and bag silver peel offs. I edged the card with pink glittered ribbon. I hope you like it Fab.

Vintage Time

Posted by Picasa The challenge this week from Arty Girlz is 'Vintage' so here is my vintage time card. The brown card background was run through the script Cuttlebug folder then attached to the front of a cream pearlescent card. I typed lots of time words and phrases, present time, past time, etc then covered the torn paper with a layer of tea varnish and added this to the front of the brown card. I stamped the images, the sun dial from Joanna Sheen and the others from Rubbadubbadoo and coloured with inks and distress ink pads. These were raised on foam tape on the card. I embellished with a gold ribbon attached to a brown shaped paper clip to keep the brown card from falling open. Inside both cards are 2 coordinating inserts.

Happy Birdday Arch

Posted by Picasa Here is my 'Blue' and 'For the Birds' challenge cards, the first for Arty Girlz and the second for Gothic Arches. I created the background using the new Garden of Romance MCS cd then overstamped in Midnight Blue Stazon the birds and flowers from one of Glenda's sets. I added a tiny gold edge with Pentouch gold marker and added the sentiments then layered the arch onto a pale blue card.

Cheers

Posted by Picasa A card for 'Men' was the challenge from Arty Girlz this week so here is one I made a week or so ago. I stamped and coloured the main image from Creative Expressions I think, then matted and layered onto an orangey card slightly offsetting the image. I added some torn dominoes paper to a brown pearlescent card ,attached the image and found a smaller die cut of a pint of beer to finish it off.

Mistletoe and Wine

Posted by Picasa'My favourite song' was the challenge from Arty Girlz this week and I just love this song by Cliff - well, I love any of his songs really. Created completely from
MC Studio cd I have printed the background on vellum and overlayed the bottles, glasses and message. A very quick and easy card.

Stampscapes Snowy Rooftops

Posted by Picasa Here is another Christmas card I made today. Using Art Impressions and Stampscapes stamps over a background created with Cosmic Shimmers, then with some added inks smudged over the top. I think this will be my entry for the Arty Girlz 'Nature' challenge as the trees and mountains are nature to me.

Pink Rose

Posted by Picasa Last year Steph did some decorative painting at the Hilton (I was not there) and this year she put them onto an exclusive My Craft Studio disc for this year's class members. This wonderful pink rose was stacked onto a 8 x8 white card which was attached to another white card with pink and white ribbons. The pink edging strips were attached over the leafy background strips, then the whole front covered in acetate which was pushed up to make a kind of bubble. Not too visible on the scan of course but giving a lovely domed effect in real life. This is a great cd to add to my collection. This is also my entry for Arty Girlz 'Pink' challenge, my first challenge card for this week and for Caardvarks 'Pink' challenge too. Ooh La La challenge is 'Ribbons ' so I can use this one for that too.

Painted Trees

Posted by PicasaThe challenge at Arty Girlz this week was 'Paint' and at DCM use 'Quotes' so here is my effort. Had to photograph it as too much light was reflected from the bubble when I scanned it so apologies for quality. I created the background using acrylic paints brayered onto glossy white card. I stamped with black Stazon the trees from Stamp Addicts, cut into a circle and mounted into the bubble front and attached to the white card. I stamped random tree images on the card, then chalked and edged with green inks. Mounted onto a large green card I added the chalked vellum quote 'Art is man's nature, Nature is God's art'.

Christmas Angels

Posted by Picasa Just had to try out my new Joanna cd 'Heavenly Cards' to make this wonderful Christmas Card. The challenge on my blog this week is to use 'Angels' so this is the one I chose. Layered onto the coordinating background paper and backed with silver mirri card and raised on foam with a silver message. This card fits nicely with Arty Girlz 'Wings' challenge too.

Big, Red and 3D

Posted by Picasa Here is a rather large card made for three challenges, Make it Mondays 'Red', Arty Girlz '3D' and Step Outside Your Box 'Big' for last week and '3D' for this week. I made the main card from two A4 sheets together but cut down slightly to make 8 x 8 and over stamped with red Stazon various Oriental background stamps. I added another sheet of different red paper to this with torn and inked edges. I made the kimono card, which opens, from black and gold and red and gold dragon paper with a gold ribbon and a Matchit Fan and raised on foam on the red card. I then added red and black butterflies on foam (obviously they appear flat on the scan sorry) to give the dimension to the card.

Sympathetic Passion Flowers

Posted by Picasa My first use of Joanna's new Floral Fantasy cd is for two sympathy cards for my friends Jeanette and Liz who lost their father on Tuesday night. I thought this flower would just be right for the job so layered the toppers onto the two different background papers and added corners, ribbons and the message. I can also enter this for the Crazy Amigo challenge on 'Flowers' and also Arty Girlz 'Open' theme.

Copper Bees, Butterflies and Ladybirds

Posted by Picasa A couple of challenges covered here, DCM extra 'Copper, Wool or 7th Anniversary', Wednesday Stamper 'Insects' and Arty Girlz 'Handmade Backgrounds'. I found a piece of copper foil and ran it through the Cuttlebug flower embossing folder then attached it to a piece of copper metallic card on a cream pearlized card. I created the copper and caramel alcohol inks background and randomly stamped bees, butterflies and ladybirds and attached this over the copper foil. A couple of wooden insects and a yellow flower with the bee sitting on top for embellishments.

Ribboned Fan

Posted by Picasa This gorgeous image from Joanna's cd helped me make this card for Arty Girlz 'Ribbons' challenge. Over the pink background paper is a silver card embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and the lovely fan image layered on top. Embellished with a dragonfly brad, silver peeloffs and pink ribbon.

Black and White Folded Card

Posted by Picasa Here is a black and white card with folded edges for two challenges Arty Girlz 'Black and White' and DCM Extra 'Folded' cards. The white background was embossed with the Paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder then sprinkled with clear sparkle embossing powder and heat embossed and placed on a silver mirri card. The stamp, from Elusive Images, I stamped in black and added some Silver Sakura pen touches, coloured the edges and added a jewel to the centre of the flower.
The main black card has folded edges at the top and bottom with a couple more jewels for effect. Looks better in real life as the sparkle shows up really well.

Orange and Black Triangles

Posted by Picasa Playing around with inks and colours today and created this for Arty Girlz 'Triangles' and Theme Thursday 'Orange and Black' challenges. I stippled orange and black inks onto a glossy white card, then overstamped with the triangle and postage stamp in black Stazon. I then cut up the card into triangles and mounted onto orange card stippled with black inks. I added the tags with gold brads - they were also stippled and overstamped. Stamps from Rubbadubbadoo.

Happy Birdday

Posted by Picasa Covered a few challenges with this one tonight. DCM extra was 'Pastels' and I have chalked using various pastel shades. Tanda Teaser challenge was
'Word-Play' which I have shown in the sentiment. Papertake Weekly asked for 'Making Waves' so I trimmed the edges with a scalloped blade and
Created By Hand wanted us to use 'Stencils' so I have used this Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls folder as a stencil. Two of the birds from Glenda's Elusive Images, are also decoupaged and have a slight hint of Sakura pens in there. There we are.
